Perhaps "Rubio" is Cuban for "rube."

The current immigration laws are resting comfortably on the books at this time, slowly gathering dust. Rather than enforce them, the Congress will create new and improved comprehensive laws that pretty much say what the old ones say...no, exactly what the old ones say, and then not enforce those either. No one sees the pattern of this pointless exercise but it´s obvious to those of us who can.

We actually don´t need any more border security to solve the immigration issue. Its actually pretty simple.

1. Accept the fact that too many Americans refuse to take the jobs a lot of illegals do. Like farm workers. We need the labor.

2. Require a work visa for these jobs. Make the card easy to get, like a plane ticket. But only at the country of origin. Quite frankly these visas could be unlimited.

3. Spend the money to set up the database for these visas, open to all employers and law enforcement.

4. Here is the key to the whole thing. Make hiring a worker without a work permit a felony, with a fine severe enough to actually put the business under. There would be no excuse for not checking the employees status, remember #3.

5. No Benefits for work visa holder, no anchor babies either. No change in citizenship process.

The above makes not getting the visa a non issue, it just makes it easier to know whos here. The enforcement is the key. Once employers realize they can, and will, lose there business if they don´t check work status the demand for undocumented workes will dry up fast. Ones without a card will either self deport or aquire the paperwork.

If Conservatives savage Marco Rubio on the immigration question they will only further offend the Hispanic portion of the voting public.

Apparently Rubio is a fantasizer, not a deep thinker. Hardly presidential timber.
Perhaps the silver lining is Hilary will probably be better than Obama.

All this won´t make a difference once Obama and the liberal Democrats get Republican (Stupid) Party political cover to pass their amnesty with a special streamlined path to citizenship for 11 to 20 million illegal aliens who once legalized would be able to bring about another 20 million of their foreign relatives here with a few years.

If that happens within a few years the Democrats will pick up tens of millions of new voters directly and indirectly as a result of the amnesty. With all those new voters, the Democrats will be able to flip States like Arizona, Florida and Texas in their favor much as California is today. The result of that for the Republican (Stupid) Party will be political oblivion for the long-term.

The liberal Democrats will never go along with sending immigration law enforcement to the States as they are all about central control.

Chances are with one party Democrat control across the country, and having to please their new voters, the Democrats will affectively do away with all expensive borderline controls and further liberalize the immigration laws to where just about any alien who comes here can simply stay if they can find a job.

Rubio was ´stooged´ by The Spider Schumer, and Citizen McCain.
They cynically picked him for a patsy along racial lines.

He was dumb enough to fall for it.

Rand Paul sits at the head of the class, right now.

#3, that is hogwash. Americans are not above any job if the check is right. Part of the reason half of the working class has become part of the welfare state is that employers refuse to pay decent wages to American workers when they can pay Juan and Carlos next to nothing for their labor.

BTW, Rubio does not care about border security or illegal aliens -- Rubio, the career politician, cares about HIS career and he´s willing to take Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin and the rest of us on a ride down the river to do so.

I do hope #1 read the article, which deserves a more pithy Reply.

McCarthy points out the folly of the current Republican effort (not just Rubio´s) to look like good guys to the Latino voters by "working with" Democrats like the shifty, mendacious Shumer, on this "comprehensive" reform.

This is an excellent article. Far more important than Jim Nabor´s marriage and the other trivia that seem to be attracting the lightweights this morning.

Put brains in gear and read it.

PS. Rubio is a politican. An ambitious one. They reside in both parties. The Latino vote is his path to glory, too.
