Absolutely excellent----except that it appears we will have to turn dishonest and creepy to win.

Seems as though having succeeded at rigging the elections and co-opting the media the government might see the need to start stockpiling ammunition.

It doesn´t matter how smart you are, or how brilliant your argument is, if the the voters you need to convince are not smart enough to understand it. Case in point, my mother in law. A die hard 78 year old democrat and enthusiastic 0bama supporter. Singing his praises, and then literally in the next breath, complaining about the costs of gasoline, food, healthcare, and her doctor refusing to take new medicare clients. As if 0bama´s policies had nothing to do with any of those things.

It doesn´t have to be. Convincing arguments can be based on solid principles. There are two groups we need to reach; first the Republicans that didn´t vote, second the middle ground voters that often agree with Conservative positions in polls but need more emotional based persuasion.

The argument must be the necessary solid core but it is insufficient by itself. We need to understand all the electorate that we might win and learn to speak their language. What do they need to hear? Do our principles encompass what they want? If so, HOW do we talk to them effectively? It probably will not be through a reasoned argument but through an emotional appeal. That´s where Republicans often drop the ball. These folks don´t feel their concerns are being addressed and that they are not cared about. We need to make sure they are reassured.

And yes, we need the modern data gathering and analysis to support the needed communication effort. I thought the Republicans had gotten that straighted out but although they made vast improvement, the dems upped the game with their "Cave". For a party that values achievement we are dropping the ball here.

Until every state has legitimate voter I.D. there will be no legitimate elections.

The GOP needs to learn how to sell the sizzle. They also need to become fearless in their approach.

Hello republicans? I watched a discussion about a book the democrats were following on the psychological analysis of voting (paraphrasing) on MSNBC last JUNE. J.U.N.E! And I told a republican author about it...

PAY ATTENTION! And get with it! This is not some lofty moral and academic exercise of debating ideas (MARCHING IN A STRAIGHT LINE WITH RED JACKETS ON-we all remember how well that worked out for the British!)this is a battle for the LIFE AND SOUL OF OUR COUNTRY...its very existence! PULL OUT ALL THE STOPS! This is NOT your grandfather´s democrat party. This is your GREAT-grandfather´s fight for democracy and freedom against very dark intentioned forces. Craftiness, shrewdness, street smarts and TECHNOLOGICAL and SOCIAL GENIUS are ALL needed.

Only a clueless academic would believe that winning an argument in D.C. has any effect on the votes of tens of millions of dim-bulb American voters.
