What Was the Point of
Obama’s Immigration Speech?

National Review Online, by Mark Kirkorian

Original Article

Posted By:Dreadnought, 1/29/2013 8:11:26 PM

I know the president likes the sound of his own voice, but, really, what was the point of his immigration speech today in Las Vegas? He didn’t deal with any of the hard issues — like guestworkers or spousal immigration rights for homosexual couples or how many millions more people a year he wants to admit — and just regurgitated the usual boilerplate about how we’re a nation of immigrants and our system is broken, etc. In fact, he’s become self-parody. I always point out that the DREAM Act was never designed

AND to get away from Moochelle.

Wasting a day burning close to two million bucks in JP4 and operating costs on AF1 when he could have given the same speech from anywhere in DC is the point. He´s the King of The World, we just don´t get it.

Obama had two reasons for this wasteful trip:

A.. Appear to be more sympathetic to illegals than GOP. All appearance, no substance, but that´s all CBS, NBC and rest need for 30 second sound bites. No major network will dare mention costs involved.

B, This is conjecture, but he surely spent quality time with his boy friend. The Mooch gets furious when boy toys are at WH, so the mobile WH complete with bed will do.

The point? There were two.
Frist, it got him out of the White House.
Second, he had to go that far to find someone to applaud him.

The problem is the US Government could go out and find all the few thousand legitimately really good students like Luis and Alan in the massive 11 to 20 million illegal alien population, give the Luis and Alan crowd "green cards", and you would still have an illegal alien population of 11 to 20 million illegal aliens out there who cannot speak much English, are poor, generally uneducated and unskilled, who would have to be heavily subsidized through US Government financed health care and social welfare programs to make it in the current high cost of living USA.

The point of Obama´s speech was to show that he recognizes that if he and the liberal Democrats can dupe the Stupid Party into going along with a special path to citizenship amnesty for just about every illegal alien now in the USA that in a few years the Democrats will end up with 10 million or more new voters that the Democrats can use to send the Stupid Party downhill into political oblivion. Once the Democrats have the voters to flip States like Arizona, Florida and Texas it is all over for the Stupid Party.

The point was that he planned to lash out at a do-nothing Congress...and they beat him to the punch by having a bipartisan group put out a proposal. But he couldn´t very well back out on his plans to give a speech.

Rubio seems to believe that if Republicans will get behind amnesty for illegals he can convince them to vote for smaller government. He told Rush yesterday that most of them come here to live the dream. There is truth to that except it isn´t the dream of our Founders. It is the dream of the Obama liberals. Taxpayer booty and entitlements.

#6 was half right in his answer - that Obama came this far to find applause.

Out here, in Reid-Land, Senor Obama is guaranteed crowds and applause the way Reid (any of them, and there are far too many) is guaranteed re-election. Obama gives that speech to adoring crowds of latino teenagers and various other multi-culti faces, as required by their various union memberships, then when he actually does something else later, Harry Reid can then be the point man to start the new conversational direction by pointing back to this speech to illustrate how the people want whatever it was Obama said.

What Obama DOES has never occurred to any of his supporters to be any different from what he says, because they don´t LISTEN to what he says any more than they know what he DOES.

They just cheer him because the Reid Machine out here has ordered them to do so, under threat of loss of their menial pay jobs (which are lucrative for their union handlers).

Don´t get me started......

He makes these unnecessary trips because he feels he is entitled. You don´t have to be poor and on welfare to have this mindset. He travels so much because he enjoysnit and knows someone else is paying the bills. Getting to bash Republicans while doing so is icing on the cake. The guy is a grifter and has hit on the mother lode in the American taxpayer. He is not alone. There are way too many in Washington DC who agree and waste taxpayer money on "fact finding" trips.

And I´m really upset that Marco Rubio would jump into this morass. I voted for him because I believe that he is a dedicated conservative. But on this issue he is wrong. Anyone who thinks that latinos are rushing to get in to the U.S. so they can ´live the American dream´ is out of it. These people don´t even have a clue what the ´America dream´ is/was. They have been born and raised in a socialist, corrupt form of government and that´s all they know. And they bring that with them. The point is: distraction. Several pundits are pointing this out. Stirring up controversy about immigration and gun control simply keeps our attention away from the debt, lack of a budget, sequestration, Iran, and other acute issues.

As Glenn Beck is fond of saying: "Watch the other hand".

Reason? Sadism. Obama will spend the next four years (insert prayer here) rubbing the noses of those of western European ancestry in the fact that demographics have hit the tipping point. They will no longer be able to vote their way out of it. They will be left with few options. A change in voting rights perhaps? This would not happen at the ballot box.

I still maintain he has some vision of a South African model in America´s future. Hopefully he´s not delusional enough to think he can put it on a fast track. Hint: Charlie Manson tried and it didn´t work.

Do not confuse this for being a wasted trip to give a speech.

It is part of the whole 2014 campaign, and the targeted stated of Nevada and all those union workers in the hotels.

Just like the Clintons, it´s all calculated with a purpose.

The difference between this immigration initiative and Reagan´s? Reagan´s provided actual amnesty.
This one only gets them to apply for the green card, which then they can after 5 years, apply for citizenship, and only then be placed at the back of the line (likely another 10 years).

You can´t vote with a green card, and once they have a green card, it will be easier to track illegal voting (if that´s occuring).

Attorney General Eric Holder began his tenure by calling Americans cowards regarding racial issues. Newly released documents reveal that Holder’s schedule shows a preoccupation with racial issues: he spends an inordinate amount of time meeting with race-centered organizations. Recently, the Department of Justice began making Holder’s daily schedules available online. Although the schedules are far from complete and heavily redacted, the compiled summary below (links to documents provided) shows how much time and access the office of the attorney general allocates to ethnocentric lobbyists and race-based associations. In unveiling his $3.8 trillion spending plan for the U.S. government on Wednesday, President Barack Obama revived his longstanding attack on oil industry tax breaks and formally launched a plan to pay for alternative vehicle research with drilling dollars. While the tax plans are dead on arrival on Capitol Hill — where lawmakers have rejected similar proposals many times before — they drew outrage from oil and gas industry leaders who said Obama was seeking to use the sector as a piggy bank. The fiscal 2014 budget proposal aims to raise $2.5 billion

Mr. Cheney’s comments come at a time of rising tensions with North Korea, which keeps threatening to attack its southern neighbor, and the United States.

A bipartisan group of lawmakers reached a deal Wednesday to expand background checks to guns purchased on the Internet or at trade shows, clearing the way for the Senate to begin debating a new gun control bill this week. The deal, struck by Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin III and Republican Sen. Patrick J. Toomey, won a stamp of approval from President Obama and gave the broader gun bill a needed boost — though the legislation still faces high hurdles in the Senate, to say nothing of the GOP-controlled House.

Top congressional Republicans declared President Obama’s tax-laden budget for fiscal 2014 dead on arrival Wednesday, saying its failure to cut deficits destroys any hope of a “grand bargain” to fix the federal government’s fiscal crisis. The White House promoted the budget as an effort to restart negotiations on long-term deficit reduction with a mix of higher taxes on the wealthy and modest trims to entitlement programs. But House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan, Wisconsin Republican, said the president’s proposals on Social Security and Medicare don’t come close to addressing the programs’ looming insolvency.

The state of California is reportedly considering legislation that would force group insurance policies to provide infertility treatment for gay and lesbian couples. Two men who have sex with each other for a year and do not produce a baby would be considered “infertile” under the proposed legislation. So would two women having sex. Since biology does not allow those without a uterus to conceive or those without a penis to impregnate, every year-long gay couple in California would potentially be covered by this new provision of California law.
