Greenfellas: The Italian Mafia Muscles
In On Green Energy Racket

Investors Business Daily, by Staff

Original Article

Big Government: For an industry all puffed up about its supposed environmental virtue, green energy sure is attracting a dirty crowd. Witness its latest entrant, Italy´s Mafia. The mob knows a good fraud when it sees one. Alongside strip joints, drug smuggling, human trafficking, leg-breaking and political shakedowns, Mafia soldiers have moved in on the something-for-nothing world of green energy. The Washington Post, in a page-one story, reported last week that a major sting operation by Italian authorities yielded a swarm of corrupt front groups run not by green hipsters, but by the Cosa Nostra of

The Obama administration and the Democrats in general have figured it out - the Cloward/Piven strategy applied in hyperdrive.

* Fast and Furious
* Benghazi
* Unauthorized military action in Libya
* Ignoring court orders
* Women in combat
* Ignoring lawful deadlines
* selective law enforcement
* Using executive orders unlawfully
* Unlawful appointments

All of these are coming so fast and so frequently that Obama´s opposition is completely off-balance and overwhelmed.

Nixon was taken down because there was nothing else to take the spotlight off of Watergate. Consequently, Watergate continued to gain momentum. Much of what Obama is doing surpasses Watergate, but the team effort of the administration and the press steamroll past the scandals and obfuscate to the point where "What difference does it make?" is a satisfactory closing argument.

The captain of missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 received a two-minute call shortly before take-off from a mystery woman using a mobile phone number obtained under a false identity. It was one of the last calls made to or from the mobile of Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah in the hours before his Boeing 777 left Kuala Lumpur 16 days ago. Investigators are treating it as potentially significant because anyone buying a pay-as-you-go SIM card in Malaysia has to fill out a form giving their identity card or passport number. Introduced as an anti-terrorism measure following 9/11, this ensures that every number is registered

Incessant "antifascist" propaganda from Moscow, baseless claims of attacks against Russians in Ukraine, incitement of Russian-speakers in eastern Ukraine, Russian troops without insignia seizing official buildings in Crimea, a stage-managed illegal plebiscite there and then its annexation by Russia, assurances from President Vladimir Putin that he has no further territorial designs in Europe (though, alas, he may be forced to intervene elsewhere to protect ethnic Russians)—yes, it all has the disturbing ring of the 1930s. Isn´t this where nationalism leads—to fascism and war? That is a common interpretation of Europe´s recent crises. It is also, coincidentally, Mr. Putin´s interpretation of events in

WELLINGTON, New Zealand—Australia has asked its allies for extra help in processing new images of the southern Indian Ocean beamed from military aircraft and satellites, as a multinational hunt for missing Malaysia Airlines 3786.KU +2.13% Flight 370 enters a third week. The move underscores the enormous challenges faced by a small group of government workers in countries such as Australia and New Zealand whose responsibilities usually range from scanning satellite data for everything from boats carrying asylum seekers to weaknesses in flood defenses. More recently, those teams have been scrutinizing a welter of images for possible plane debris bobbing on

Liberals are in an uproar over a contest for the most popular children´s book author because conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh has been chosen as one of the contestants. Each year, the Children’s Book Council (CBC) sponsors its Every Child A Reader program, allowing kids to vote for the year’s most popular children´s book author. The entrants are chosen from a list of authors of top selling books, and this year, with Rush Limbaugh´s new children´s books hitting the best seller lists everywhere, the conservative talker is one of those authors kids can vote for. Speaking to a conference of community health centers in New York, Biden conceded that enrolling in ObamaCare could be "tedious," and early problems with HealthCare.gov worsened the problem. "We didn´t help you much at the front end here, man," Biden said, adding that he wanted to recommend President Obama "for sainthood" because he maintained his patience through the early technical problems with the website. If Hillary Clinton runs for president in 2016 her top selling point will be — not her experience, not her competency, or intelligence — the fact that if she would be the first U.S. president with ovaries. A new Gallup poll released Friday found that when asked what the best or most positive thing about a Hillary Clinton presidency would be, 18 percent cited the fact that she would be the first woman president. The second most popular answer, at nine percent, was her experience, specifically her foreign policy experience. Other positives, that netted at least five percent of respondents, were that

With Sunday marking the fourth anniversary of the Affordable Care Act being signed into law, it´s worth revisiting the initial purpose of the president´s signature legislation: Universal coverage was the main goal. Four years later, not even the White House pretends that this goal will be realized. Most of those who were uninsured before the law was passed will remain uninsured, according to the Congressional Budget Office. Democrats also fixated on another goal: protection for people with pre-existing conditions. One of the first things the new law did was create federal risk pools so that people who had been denied coverage

Jimmy Carter has been very active in the decades since his presidency, and his successors have occasionally called for his advice. Except, it turns out, the current occupant of the office. Is Barack Obama simply too busy to be Chief Executive of the United States? Apparently. One of the primary functions of the president is to keep the nation safe, to preserve it from its enemies. To do that effectively, one would actually have to maintain something of a consistent level of attention to the moving pieces that directly influence how future events will unfold. None other than the truly sycophantic thinks for a second that President Obama cares a whit for anything that does not involve fundamentally altering the social composition of this country. Or golf. Black students are more likely to be suspended from U.S. public schools — even as tiny preschoolers. The racial disparities in American education, from access to high-level classes and experienced teachers to discipline, were highlighted in a report released Friday by the Education Department´s civil rights arm. The suspensions — and disparities — begin at the earliest grades. Black children represent about 18 percent of children in preschool programs in schools, but they make up almost half of the preschoolers who are suspended more than once, the report said. Six percent of the nation´s districts with preschools reported suspending at
