| The Boy Scouts of America, one of the nation’s largest private youth organizations, is actively considering an end to its decades-long policy of banning gay scouts or scout leaders, according to scouting officials and outsiders familiar with internal discussions. If adopted by the organization’s board of directors, it would represent a profound change on an issue that has been highly controversial -- one that even went to the US Supreme Court. The new policy, now under discussion, would eliminate the ban from the national organization’s rules, leaving local sponsoring organizations free to decide

#3, American Heritage Girls was chartered as a result of the sell out of the Girl Scouts to feminism and the Left. I couldn´t believe this headline. I am our Troop´s Committee Chair and have been involved in the BSA since the ´50s - I hope this isn´t so.

Of the 27 men to travel to the moon on the Apollo 9 through Apollo 17 missions, 24 were Scouts, including 11 of the 12 men who physically walked on the moon´s surface, and all three members of the crew of Apollo 13.
So, let´s destroy yet another successful leadership institution.
And we wonder why the country is failing?

#10, that´s because our ancestors last century didn´t hang these libtards/progtards ( ot put them up against a wall, after a fair 5 min trial, of course) when they self-identified in the government and media. When you allow rotten apples to remain in the barrel ALL the remaining good apples are at risk.

And that will be the end of the Boy Scouts. Everyone with any common sense knows that homosexuals are not born that way. They are taught it. Gay leaders? Most straight parents wouldn´t let their sons within a mile of that new Boy Scouts, because they know what it will be: just another group promoting the gay lifestyle and the gay agenda and forcing them upon their children. Their only choice with schools it to pull their kids out and either home school or send them to private schools. But scouting is purely voluntary.
No surprise here. The professed aims of the gay agenda, like so many other groups, are not really what they are pursuing anyway. Their goal is the destruction of America and Christianity via internal rot. Scouting represents both, so they go after it with a vengeance.
And to anticipate the objection to the above, I always find it interesting that those who claim homosexuality is hereditay refuse to consider the possiblity that stupidity and laziness are too.

Also, while homosexuals are anywhere from 3-10 percent of the population, they are 30 percent of the pedophiles.

Our Troop has become very liberal in the past year. I wouldn´t be surprised if they allowed gays into the Troop even if the BSA rejects this option. My son will son be 18 next year, and will soon have his Eagle Rank in the next month or two. We will be done with the Troop very soon.

The problem with BSA is they allowed those who don´t agree with BSA policies/traditions to become National Board Members. These people lack a sense of personal honor. If they don´t agree with the Boy Scout Oath they never should of agreed to become Board Members. Of course the problem goes deeper. WHO recommmended these people for the Board?

I know what the rank Eagle Scout means and what an incredible accomplishment it is. This past year there were 3 or 4 "Eagle Scouts" that protested the BSA not allowing gay scout and gay scout leaders by returning their awards. I wonder if the "leadership" in BSA would listen if the other hundreds if not thousands of Eagle Scouts over the past 50 years decided to let the BSA know that they say NO!

Due to a lack of proof beyond any reasonable doubt I make no judgements one way or the other. I prefer FACTS before running my mouth.
Does anyone have Documented Medical Proof that people (male or female) are or are not born Homosexuals?
I have seen one medical article saying they are not born that way and two medical articles that say they are in fact born that way.
So are we dealing in TRUTH and FACT or just hate mongering ignorance? If we can demand the truth and facts from the Administration and the Media, then why can´t we demand the truth and facts in this forum?
Just curious.

When this happens, we will dis-associate with the BSA. What a terrible shame.

When will we learn that liberalism is a cancer that destroys any and everything it touches. It rots everything from the inside out. And it is content to destroy the BSA if it cannot take it over. Liberalism cares nothing for any "good" that might come from it. If it cannot be conquered then it must be destroyed.
The Democrat Party is Satan´s church and modern liberalism is its religious doctrine. Until we accept that we cannot engage in the war. It´s why they hate Christianity so much. Liberals declared war against decency and the country a long time ago.

Well, #39, to each his own, but it is a moral issue given the Boy Scouts is a moral based organization. Homosexuality is not moral and it does present a possible danger to children. I don´t think it is ignorant or hateful to be prudent. It also seems prudent rather than hateful to exercise the utmost caution since it is an unsettled matter. I find it a reverse order to say take the risk until proven otherwise. Re: #45, that´s disgusting and fairly obvious.

We use it for the boys in our youth program. I have heard it said that if the BSA ever gave into the gays demands that the Church will drop it and come up with something else instead. It would all be downhill from there for the BSA.

Working in an architectural firm who did design and research for a popular gay bathhouse, I realized that I was charmingly naïve about what, I was repeatedly assured, was mainstream homosexual living. If scout leaders are in a position to influence young minds then we need to educate ourselves about how different interpretations of overt sexuality, monogamy and promiscuity within alternative lifestyle communities mesh with established value systems. I recognize the right of private, tax-exempt organizations to limit voluntary membership to a prescribed set of requirements. Arguing this point can be a two-way street, as anyone can subjectively claim discrimination in private groups i.e. a not-for-profit Florida gay softball league seeking to ban “bi” or “fake” homosexual “ringers” from competition. Ultimately, if we force coherence to shifting social morays on any organized group, are we infringing on their right to assemble? One could so fundamentally change the dynamic of a private society as to render it meaningless (what constitutes a “boy” for example).

Fortunately parents don´t have to allow their sons to participate in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. No person in their right mind would allow their son so go on an overnight scout trip with a homosexual man. Sorry if you are offended. You wouldn´t allow your daughter to go on an overnight scout trip with a man.
Sadly, this is the end of Boy Scouts.

This truly saddens me. . .and it´s the just beginning. . .homosexuality has become a tenet of the Left´s religion and it is literally being forced upon the entire country.
Our young boys are literally being recruited into a culture of despair and death. Most of the homosexual men I know, while they are "nice" to me, it is evident that they are unhappy and miserable. They also take pettiness, vanity and catty-ness to a level that no woman could possibly take it to.

They haven´t won, dont allow these leftist freaks to win by rolling over, while we still parent our kids we are in control. we must keep these undesirables away from our kids, grand kids start by, leveling accusations & threaten to send the local news on their reputations and make their lives pure hell so they go start a gay scouts cult which they should´ve done if their motives were pure.

One of the first political issues negotiators must tackle in crafting an immigration reform bill is among the most important: what to name it. It’s a decision that will bruise egos, create legacies and deeply affect subsequent messaging battles. “Every time the bill is mentioned in the press, you either have a brand that´s positive or a brand that doesn´t mean anything or even hurts you,” said Frank Sharry, the executive director of the pro-immigration reform group America’s Voice. The wrong name, he warned, could doom a good bill. “If there´s not a

In a revelation that may have Colorado voters rethinking their state’s push on gun control, court documents revealed that the mass shooting in Aurora that killed 12 and injured 70 more could have been prevented by law enforcement. The psychiatrist for suspect, James Holmes, had warned campus police that Holmes was dangerous and homicidal a month before the shooting took place. Lynne Fenton even told the police that Holmes had begun to stalk and threaten her, and yet no action was apparently taken: A University of Colorado psychiatrist told campus police a month before the Aurora

Rep. Peter King of New York on Friday cast Sen. Marco Rubio as a hypocrite for voting against the the Hurricane Sandy relief package and expressed disbelief that the Florida senator would then turn around and try to raise campaign money in the region. Mr. King questioned how Mr. Rubio could vote against the $60 million in relief for New York and New Jersey when Florida has received loads of federal money for Hurricane victims. “Guys like Marco Rubio of Florida, with all the money that you people have gotten in Florida over the years, with every hurricane

President Obama and other Washington politicians are getting a bum rap on TV news as money-grubbers and power-grabbers, views the president´s former top speechwriter calls lies, especially those aimed at his former boss. Jon Favreau told students at Harvard University´s Institute of Politics that TV portrays political leaders wrongly, and that the public ends up with a bad view of those in power. "I think that a lot of people turn on the news today, a lot of young people, and they hear people tell them that every motivation of every politician on either

Joyce Karam, Washington correspondent for pan-Arabic daily Al-Hayat, offers a sobering assessment on the Al-Arabiya website of the current administrations efforts in the post-”Arab Spring” Middle East. She begins by noting a how a minor recent diplomatic walkback highlights the White House’s contradictory policy: It was only fitting that the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry announces another traditional trip to the Middle East on the same day that the U.S. embassy in Cairo withdraws its tweet advancing the case for Egyptian Comedian Bassem Youssef as he faces intimidation from the Mursi government.

President Obama is eager to build public support for his health care overhaul in the few months remaining before its implementation, but waning enthusiasm from Democrats threatens his effort right out of the gate. Two-thirds of Democrats now believe Obama´s health care reforms will either hurt them personally or have no effect on their daily lives, a Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday shows. In comparison, just 27 percent of Democratic respondents said the reforms would help them. The president has long struggled to convince independent and Republican-leaning voters that his health care blueprint would lower premiums and expand insurance coverage.

Michelle Obama has admitted that she is already tired of the bangs she first sported in January. The First Lady said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight: ´Bangs are a day-by-day proposition. They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

Sen. John McCain says he doesn´t understand the threats from some of his Republican colleagues to filibuster a bill on background checks to buy guns. "I don´t understand it," the Arizona Republican said on Sunday of the threat coming from Sen. Rand Paul,Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Mike Lee and nine other Republicans. "The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.” "What are we afraid of? ... If this issue is as important as we all think it is, why not take ... it up and debate?"

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Los Angeles — Some people have had it with TV. They´ve had enough of the 100-plus channel universe. They don´t like timing their lives around network show schedules. They´re tired of $100-plus monthly bills. A growing number of them have stopped paying for cable and satellite TV service, and don´t even use an antenna to get free signals over the air. (Snip) Last month, the Nielsen Co. started labeling people in this group "Zero TV" households, because they fall outside the traditional definition of a TV home. There are 5 million of these residences in the U.S., up from

On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

Susan Patton, the Princeton alumna who became famous for her letter urging Ivy League women to use their college years to find a mate, has been denounced as a traitor to feminism, to coeducation, to the university ideal. But really she’s something much more interesting: a traitor to her class. Her betrayal consists of being gauche enough to acknowledge publicly a truth that everyone who’s come up through Ivy League culture knows intuitively —

Gluten-free diets are all the rage, but they can be dangerous if not done right. What is gluten? It´s the spongy complex of proteins, found naturally in wheat, rye, and barley, that gives elasticity to dough and allows it to rise. When flour is moistened and either kneaded or mixed into dough, gluten molecules form an elastic, microscopic latticework that traps the carbon dioxide produced when yeast ferments, causing dough to inflate like a hot air balloon. Baking hardens the gluten, which helps the finished product keep its shape. Wheat — and gluten — is ubiquitous in the American diet.

Newtown killer Adam Lanza may have launched his murder spree at Sandy Hook Elementary School as an “act of revenge,” the Daily News has learned. A close friend of Lanza’s mother told The News that the troubled boy was a target of relentless bullying when he attended the Connecticut school years ago. “I think Adam felt betrayed by the school and this was his act of revenge,” said Marvin LaFontaine, a friend of Nancy Lanza’s. “Nancy told me he was being picked on at school. That they were just torturing him.” Source and text corrected by Staff.
