Gang Violence and Gun Control
American Thinker, by Michael Geer

Guns and gangs. Haven´t read anything from the Left about that. Certainly nothing from Congress. But with FBI statistics showing more than 1,500,000 members of recognized gangs across the nation and something like 33,000 recognized gangs in the FBI´s stats, you´d think Gun Control advocates would list these as a major target of their efforts, especially since gang activity is responsible for at least 48% of criminal and violent activity throughout the US. You´d be wrong.

Interesting point.
And don´t forget that the president gave 50 million dollars of stimulus money to Chicago, to mentor (give 24/7 escorts) to those chillun most likely to be victims of homicide - gangbangers.
How has that worked out? Not good, except it allowed older gangbangers to get on the federal payroll.

Gang culture is exploited through glorification in the entertainment industry. Gangster rappers have been VIP guests at the White House since Obama took up residence. Just how is this going to get solved?

Ann Coulter of course spun the information for self-promotion so now every time someone brings it up they´re called racist, but if you take gang violence and suicide out of our gun stats, you have a very low number.

American gang culture is fairly unique to our country. This is why that statistic matters so much.

An unarmed populace, in the face of gang gun violence, is a very good for those supporting big government. An unarmed populace is Much More reliant on government protection, and government in general.

The basic theme is less self reliance, and more government dependence. It´s all about power.

All they have to do is increase the severity of gun crimes to a federal felony, with mandatory sentence guidelines that are severe.

Why is this not discussed... even in Chicago? Is the issue more valuable than the solution? Are attys lobbying to keep criminals free to pad their pockets?

We have been so absorbed by the cavalcade of government incompetence and individual hurt produced by the rollout of ObamaCare that it is easy to forget the tragedy-in-waiting should this federal healthcare takeover stay in place: the death panel, also known as the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB). This is the group of political appointees designed to allow the federal government to use a combination of medical and social criteria to determine the healthcare an individual receives. Or, to put it as bluntly as Sarah Palin did, to determine who lives and who dies. Why am I thinking about that now?

Ezekiel Emanuel – brother of Rahm, with whom he shares a charm deficiency – shared his behind-the-scenes stories in the recent Wall Street Journal essay “Inside the Making of Obamacare.” To my ear, Emanuel’s abrasiveness and arrogance in his radio and television appearances undermine his defense of ObamaCare, and this piece of writing likewise does little to improve my opinion of President Obama or his signature law. Emanuel is often called the “the architect of ObamaCare.” Although no one person put together the Rube Goldberg contraption of a law, Emanuel was certainly a key player. Recently I watched the documentary Breeders, which I recommend to everyone – gay and straight, liberal and conservative. The documentary, produced by Jennifer Lahl at the Center for Bioethics and Culture, exposes the ethical dangers posed by the practice known as “surrogacy.” Surrogacy is the use of a contract, by which a woman agrees to carry a gestating child in her womb for another party (usually an infertile heterosexual couple or a gay male couple), and also agrees to abandon the child to the couple who has engaged her services. Compensated surrogacy means that the carrier is paid to rent out her

California’s state legislature is seeking to repeal an idiotic law that took effect January 1st. Anyone working in a California restaurant or bar who prepares ready-to-eat food - from bagels to sushi to fruit salad to cocktails - has to wear gloves or use deli tissue, spatulas or tongs. Fertility is the missing chapter in sex education. Sobering facts about women’s declining fertility after their 20s are being withheld from ambitious young women, who are propelled along a career track devised for men. The refusal by public schools’ sex-education programs to acknowledge gender differences is betraying both boys and girls. The genders should be separated for sex counseling. It is absurd to avoid the harsh reality that boys have less to lose from casual serial sex than do girls, who risk pregnancy and whose future fertility can be compromised by disease.
