God puts individuals into leadership. He uses them to accomplish His desires. King Nebuchadnezzar was used to discipline the Israelites for their unrepentant sins. King Cyrus was used to punish King Nebuchadnezzar for the evil that he did against the Israelites.

God has a purpose in mind, but we do not know what that is. He has a history of using bad leaders to rebuke a nation.

I am not a fan of taking biblical passages out of context to prove your point. Torah is much more involved than this, and the passages are very interrelated.

I checked one of the statements, and his deuteronomy quote was about the jubilee, which freed all slaves every fifty years. Had nothing to do with what he is writing about.

Attacks on Obama and his policies can stand on their own merits, or general philosphical, moral or religious principles. Cherry picking individual lines from the Torah is not the way to go.

I am hoping that God´s plan was to leave him there to suffer some disgrace. You can only mock God for so long, or worse, trot God´s name out whenever you need His help to promote falsehoods. Had Obama not been reelected, he would still have made $50,000 a speech and been invited to the best parties, simply for having been the first black president.

People like Obama think they are better than they really are every time they win something. An intelligent man would have not been so snotty and in-your-face after the election, but in his mind, a 1.5% victory means that 100% of the people should get in line with your views.

I have no idea what God is thinking, but I know He has a plan. At the very least, He´s getting our attention!

Like the author, I´ve felt that God is using oh dark won TO GET OUR ATTENTION. We have turned away from Him and in His way; we are being told we had best awaken and make amends to begin anew on the right pathway. His signs are seen ever day if only you open your eyes to see.

The book of Isaiah has a prophecy that states during the end times we shall be lead by a manchild and ruled by women. That fits perfectly with Obama, Pelosi, Feinstein, etc. Did God exalt Obama? Don´t know. But I do know that God has a history of using people and events to shape His will.

Don´t know about the biblical passages, but it is so easy to intuit that the puppetmasters, ValJar, Soros, and others are evil.

If you´ve ever seen the movie "Legion" you may understand our problem. I´ve heard rumors of Obama and Michelle crawling on the White House ceilings.

Chuzzles, you left out Valerie the Omnipotent, the power behind the throne. Many of the Biblical women had much more influence than was needed when the men were so weak willed. God is in control. The Bible is very clear on that. We can´t understand his ways as they are higher than ours. That doesn´t make it easier just acknowledges who directs the hearts and minds of men.

Is Mr. Arlandson a mind reader?
I´ve had to ask myself that very thing for the last four years and, especially now, since Obama was re-elected. However, Arlandson´s description of the Mulatto Kenyan as an "unusually ineffective president" is a cleaned up version of my thoughts.

The problem is, most of the Biblical "bad" leaders lasted for more than four or eight years. My worry is that somehow BHO will find a way around the 22nd Amendment.

Intellectually, I know 2/3´s of the states would have to ratify a new Amendment repealing the 22nd Amendment and allowing for more than two terms. Also I don´t think the next 47 months is enough time to get an Amendment passed and ratified. But let´s all remember that Obama has trampled on the Constitution so much already that anything is possible with him.

What about the Devil ?

I´m not sure I buy the argument that Obama is a punishment for abortion. Molech has been on the earth from the first infant sacrifice.
We have consequences and I believe those are being played out in different ways (abuse, helicopter parents, rise of behavior disorders and mental illness), but I don´t think this is about God´s judgment.
If that were true, then why were we spared so much carnage on 911? Why are there still miracles of life? Why are there still beautiful weddings being planned and lives being changed? Why does God continue to shower His love on us?
We live in the age of grace...that most beautiful and terrifying kind of love. It involves free will.

Obama was chosen by the people in 2008.
There were not enough to oppose him in 2012.
Free will is in play here...but God is not silent or on the sidelines. He is deeply involved.
During this time of suffering, I´ve seen people become incredibly strong and resourceful. There will be those who give up and those who dig and keep going. It will continue until we are ready to put our house back in order.
There will be a reckoning and there will be justice.
And in the meantime, God will be the one look to for help.

Any time I think of God and Obama together it is in the context of Revelations.

Just like SAUL got to be King.

God is in control.

A sovereign God has indeed ordained Obama to the Presidency, but his divine will appears to be to bring a corrupt nation to it´s knees.

Please stop with the punishment fetish. God does not do collective punishment. Think about it, which nations have truly violated God´s commandments in modern history: Germany/Japan and China. The German people suffered what, about three years? After all they had done by bringing Hitler to power, standing by while twelve million people were slaughtered on in an industrial killing machine, by 47-48 they were back to the Bier Gartens and general debauchery. We paid to defeat them and then we paid to rebuild them and all it cost the average German was about 36 months of discomfort. Look at China it has an official, enforced abortion program and it is rapidly ascending to the top spot in the world and nary a locust plague or flood to be found. Yes America has its faults but do you really think God is going to punish us all? Was it Sodom or Gomorrah which God would have spared if one righteous person could be found? Are you trying to tell me there isn´t a single righteous person in America. Do you expect to go to Hell for the sins of your neighbor?
That is not to say all is well, and it may be worse than a directed punishment. It may simply be a withdraw of support but I doubt even that. We are being taught to recognize evil.

You aren´t a sinner saved by grace, you are the righteousness of God. You are a new creature in Christ Jesus in spite of who you are not because of who you are but because of who Jesus is and what he did for you.

God hasn´t intervened with mankind in over 20000 years; and before that we have only allegory mixed with some questionable history of God´s play with mankind since the time of creation. We get what we deserve in this life, and yes we have the freedom to choose hell, but it is not God´s will and that is why the Savior came. He said he is coming again.
