| President Obama has shown increasing contempt for the constitutional limits on his power, and the courts are finally awakening to the news. A unanimous panel of the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled on Friday that the President´s non-recess recess appointments are illegal and an abuse of executive power. On January 4, 2012, Mr. Obama bypassed the Senate´s advice and consent power by naming three new members of the National Labor Relations Board and appointing Richard Cordray to run the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Other Presidents have made recess appointments and we´ve supported that executive authority.

This has been one of the few bright spots during the reign of 0bama. I want to know if this nullifies all of his recess appointments. An analysis on another website said: "The ruling, however, is not confined to the situation at the NLRB....it would extend to all federal agencies whose officers are nominated by the President and require Senate approval — including federal judges." Would it also apply to the recess appointment of Donald Berwick who was involved with Medicare/Medicaid/0bamacare? I have searched the net and can´t find an answer.

0bama´s 2nd. term is off to a rocky start, as the results of his over-reaches in the Executive Branch catch up with him, as judicated in accordance with the U.S. Constitution by the Judicial Branch.
Now, if only the Legislative Branch will wake up and fulfill its Constitutional duties as delegated to the Congress, the checks & balances between the three EQUAL Branches of our Government would once again work as the Founders intended!

It´s unclear how important this ruling really is. Obviously it will be appealed and I´ll wager that it will be aggressively ignored by the administration in the meantime. If the Supreme court takes it up a ruling could be a year or 18 months away. And then there will be further litigation about whether the rules that have decreed will be invalidated. This could take years. And who knows what happens in 2014 or 2016?

Just over a week after sequestration took effect, the State Department allotted more than $700,000 for gardening at a U.S. Ambassador’s residence in Brussels, Belgium. On March 11, State awarded a contract to provide gardening services at an “official residence” of the U.S. Mission in Belgium. A State Department spokesperson confirmed to CNSNews.com that the contract is for Truman Hall, a historic property that serves at the residence of the Ambassador to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). The current U.S. ambassador to NATO is Ivo H. Daalder, who was appointed by President Barack Obama in May 2009.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is actively shopping for a drone that would "stalk hunters," the organization said Monday.
