In my research for the film I made on Governor Palin, The Undefeated, I was constantly amazed at the anti-establishment stands she took at every step in her rise to power. Moves that a conventional politician would run from, she embraced: in Wasilla, in Juneau, and in the rise of the Tea Party. Her ability to see “over the hill” to what is really important, what really matters, is what sets her apart. Andrew Breitbart embraced the Governor as a fellow warrior in the long struggle against a detached and venal political/media complex. He lives on in spirit
The fact she sat on the sidelines without trying to help Romney to defeat Obama in 2012...turning the USA over to a Communist cabal.....tells me MS Sarah is first and foremost about Ms. Sarah ...and that disgusts me
I have to laugh. Unlike the parade of dimwit Republicans who blabbed their regrets, strategy and plans to the press, Palin is holding her cards close to the vest. This seems to drive her detractors a little nuts. #3 is right.
#4, I know of at least $5,000 that she gave to Romney´s campaign. I don´t know that she was asked to help Romney in any other way, or that she wasn´t rejected if she asked whether they wanted her help.
After all, people who worked for Romney, and later for McCain, went further than not "trying to help" her - they tried, and still try, to destroy her. Her help may not have been, and likely wasn´t, wanted by the Romney campaign. She obviously wasn´t wanted at the Romney Republican Convention.
#4, totally agree. I like Palin. I am Palin. Except I don´t play coy. Her refusal to utter the name "Romney" when we needed her most turned me off--- 100%. She´s in this for Sarah, nothing else, and I´m sad about that. Also, I don´t mean to be nasty here, but she needs to let up a little on that heavier than usual makeup unless her goal is to look um, tartish. She´s soooo naturally pretty--- it´s a goofy distraction. OK, flame away. I´m not afraid to speak my mind here bc this website has always been a place of tolerance, for which I´m extremely grateful.
I voted for Romney because he was the Republican candidate, BUT he was never fond of TEA party members. Let´s be honest here. Rove was a Romney lackey and a Bush guy and we all know what he thinks of the TEA party. Even Barbara Bush´s unseemly remarks about Mrs. Palin were shocking, and beneath the dignity of a former first lady. GW Bush´s "compassionate conservative" mantra stunk too..as if conservatives are NOT compassionate.
One of the hardest things to do is get up everyday and see that my circle of friends grows smaller, especially on this website. Too many want that ONE person [hero] to stand up and make it all stop, that is the 0bama pain. Our country doesn´t work that way.
President Bush could only do what he could on the War on Terror as Congress and the LSM let him. When Chief Justice Roberts seemed to fail so many of US because of his vote on 0bamaCare, you forgot that by electing 0bama, he stacked the deck against US, and for many years to come. The same is true of Sarah Palin.
Romney was last on my list in the beginning, till he was officially nominated as our candidate. I voted for him proudly, because I put America first, and Ted Cruz. For those who talk down "my" Sarah because of her family´s problems and the monies she´s made are myopic and the reason we keep nominating RINOs. I´ve had had to endure all the Christie slobbering on here and it didn´t take Hurricane Sandy to see what a jerk he is.
It´s amazing that when Sarah speaks, mainly through Facebook and other means because the LSM hate her, she´s prophetic in what is said [death panels looms large with many of US retiring now]. If you want perfect, go to Church and thank God that He made it quite simple for US. Love Him, then our neighbor as ourselves. I don´t see perfect in my mirror.
Romney did not want any association with Sarah Palin, she knew that. Why impose herself on him? Sarah concentrated on Congressonal and State elections for candidates that wanted her and whose principles she could support. Sarah serves as a scapegoat for too many in the GOP.
The Republican Establishment used Palin to try to pull McCain across the finish line. Then used her as the scapegoat for when McCain lost. During the next election cycle these same people derided her and complained she wouldn´t shut up. Now they blame her for not helping enough.
How do you reason with someone who´s thought process has no basis in logic or commonsense? Why would you?
So, is that why we lost 8 House seats and let the Democrats increase their majority in the Senate ? Because the far right decided they didn´t want to fight -i.e. get out and vote ? But, now Palin and her cohorts will ? Too little, too late.
I suspect that the Republican leadership and Romney viewed Sarah and the Tea Party as toxic, and did not want them visible prior to the election, so the press would have no issue with the ´Extreme right wing´.
Although there is no direct evidence, it would not surprise me to learn that Sarah had been asked to keep a low profile in the national election.
Regardless of the reason, the fact is that she was not a factor. Now, there is no disputing the outcome. It didn´t work, and it´s time to try something else. The question is, will she respond in a hard-charging fashion?
I can hardly wait until Palin starts doing the hard work of running for president in 2016 and winning. /s/ Also, I thought Romney got more votes than McCain/Palin, but she says otherwise. Sorry, but she´s old news.
#2-the Romney camp prior to the 2008 election was already out with K. Madden giving negative commentary on Gov. Palin. Romney kept his hands clean. He knew Palin was the only true competition for 2012; his consultants and Schmidt and Wallace were closer than peas in a pod. S & W were recommended by Romney to assist McCain in 2008. Would you set yourself up to allow being trampled on daily and then be scapegoated for his loss?
#4 Take your ´disgusts´ to apply to the Romney campaign. He faught harder against his peers in the primary than he did against obama.
Romney and his team didn´t want her around as they knew she would outshine him.
#7 Just what might be your definition of ´coy´?
#10-Loyalty plays a huge role in Palin´s life. You seem to think she should have dissed McCain in his election after he brought her to the national stage.
#22 - So Palin should have stayed in the Governer´s office in Alaska while the crazies were filing the ethics complaints so they could create Personal Bankruptcy for her family with 5 children? How intelligent would that have been to let ego destroy her and put her, her spouse and 5 children on the streets?
Palin helped put the 3 REPUBLICAN WINNING Senators into Congress. The RINOs supported their primary opponents.
To any here that say they would never support her - I hope you like what that gets you - and we´ve got it in the WH and senate right now. Bankrupcy staring us in the face - Constitutional rights threatened, corruption, America losing face with the entire world, anything right and decent and traditional is ridiculed and trashed.
But Sarah Palin is the problem? I don´t think so. Go Sarah - I will always love you!
I trust Mrs Palin´s instincts AND her motives. So far her opinions have not been for sale, rent or trade. They do not change with the direction of the wind or the poll numbers. She is exactly who and what she appears to be. I cannot say I believe the same of any other politician. If she runs for anything I will support her and vote for her. If she endorses a candidate I will give that candidate a more favorable look than I otherwise might have. Maybe for the first time in my life I will be able to leave the voting booth without feeling like I need a shower.
All of these people complaining that Sarah didn´t help Romney...blah...blah...blah. Maybe you forgot, but Romney, and his Karl Rove henchmen, were too busy, along with the democrats, digging up trash and spreading rumors about her and didn´t even bother to invite her to speak at the GOP convention. For that matter, he wouldn´t even allow the mentioning of the tea-party at the convention. It was Romney´s election to lose, and he decided it was better to alienate half of the GOP: tea-party and Palin supporters, than give them any position in which they could help get the communist out of the White House.
Just as I stand with Andrew, I stand with Sarah. She has her principles and convictions
Knowing how the Republican party feels about her, why would she come out to help Romney (especially after he made it clear to stay away from the big guys in charge) This is to take nothing away from Romney, but Sarah was not about to foist false praise on a nominee she could not believe in. Can´t blame her for that. She has that spark and even if those in the party can´t find the way to see it, patriots know it´s ready to light the blaze.
The fact that the Liberals, RINOs and the Progressive corrupt mainstream media all hate Sarah Palin is reason enough to support her. We know who they fear by who they hate. The corrupt MSM seems to love Chris Christie, now what does that tell you? They also love Obama, Bill and Hillary Klintoon and all corrupt Black Democrat politicians. The corrupt MSM loves abortion and Obamacare also and supports disarming American citizens so only criminals will have guns. That is all more than enough reason to support our beloved Sarah Palin. I hate the corrupt wretches in the mainstream media. I think Sarah made a good choice by leaving Fox News. I do not trust Fox News aka the Bob Beckel network anymore.
I was raised to never retreat and to pick battles wisely, and all in due season. When it comes to defending our republic, we haven’t begun to fight! But we delight in those who underestimate us.
I love you Mrs. Palin, but you left the battlefield much to the bloodied eyes of your abandoned Compatriots as you picked at your bag of Chic Fil A battles with your multi million dollar pay off.
Some Americans like yourself can confuse "wisely" with cowardice and confuse "wisely" with prudence, as your due season was purchased with the blood of this blog holding point and field, as you appear with your confederates of Limbaugh, Hannity and Levin exorcising the ghosts of Reagan and Breitbart..
Your Republic is dead Mrs. Palin and you are foolish to distract Patriots to fighting over a corpse buried in the Obama Abyss. If you happen to lurch into the light in the embers of the shattered Bonhomme Richard, know this Mrs. Palin that John Paul Jones in his "I have not yet begun to fight", it was about striking the colors and you struck yours as you abandoned the field for more prudent quarters.
Those who remained on this dangerous and bloodied fields have not forgotten, nor is the sound of current tourists on our field, is held with the same value as advice in "how we should have bled better".
Our flag is not upon a sunken ship of state, but is nailed fast upon the enemy´s Serapis now our possession.
We know our ship Mrs. Palin. We know the treacherous waters upon which we sail. We know our colors are nailed to our mast. We know the battle Mrs. Palin.
Surprise! Surprise! As usual, the shallow-thinking, narrow-minded, low-information Palin-bashers are out in force, airing their flimsy theories once again. So, what else is new?
Sarah Palin is accused of being everything from diabolically devious to dumb as a post and everything in between. Wow! Talk about “living rent-free” in some peoples’ brains!
And let’s not forget the Abortion Remorse contingent who can’t for the life of them understand what she sees in Trig. They even despise her subliminally.
People who feel a burning desire to play the blame game would be well-advised to concentrate their efforts on the unlikeliest person of all who has the highest title of all and is hell-bent on fundamentally transforming what we used to have into what tragically lies ahead if patriots such as Sarah just play it safe by doing nothing.
For who she is, what she has done and what I know she is capable of doing in the future, I’m proud to offer her 100% of my support anytime she asks for it.
Psych 101. Some people who disparage Sarah Palin feel vastly superior by doing so. Please indulge me. I’m not a shrink but I attempt to play one every so often on these threads here at Lucianne University.
Did anyone read the Breitbart article about what is happening in D.C. right now? With the exception of Michelle Bachmann, there is no one in the capitol that I would trust to make a bologna sandwich...much less policy. They´re ALL either traitors, moochers, or spineless pubs.
Sarah has not, nor ever will be, one of them. While Romney and Ryan are having D.C. luncheons, Sarah is planning her next move to get the truth out. These days, that is about the hardest job anyone has.
Yesterday saw two ridiculous claims accepted by leftists in government and media, backed by purported "studies." President Obama claimed that the Keystone XL Pipeline would produce on 50 jobs. And he has doubled down despite criticism even from usually friendly "fact-checkers." Meanwhile, liberals in the left wing media, led by the HuffPo, are citing a "study" claiming that doubling the wages of McDonald´s workers would only result in a 17% price rise: "Doubling McDonald´s Salaries Would Cause Your Big Mac To Cost Just 68¢ More: Study" headlined the story by Christine Fairchild, citing a study by someone

House Democratic leaders were upbeat following a meeting Wednesday morning with President Obama, characterizing the session as a productive discussion on a number of fronts. [Video] “We had a very enthusiastic meeting,” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) told reporters. Obama met with House Democrats and will meet with Senate Democrats later Wednesday. Democratic leaders characterized as meaningful a wide-ranging discussion, which included voting rights, the implementation of the federal health-care law, the nation’s economy, immigration, and the upcoming battle over the nation’s debt limit.
Sen. John McCain — a Democrat? There was confusion Wednesday after the Arizona Republican mistakenly strolled into President Obama’s meeting with Senate Democrats at the Capitol. The room full of Democrats — who happened to be meeting in the same room where the Senate GOP usually holds their weekly policy luncheons — erupted in applause and laughter as the former Republican presidential candidate made his entrance. As McCain, 76, walked out of the Dem-filled space, reporters pressed him as to why he stepped foot in the room.
A former University of Northern Colorado basketball coach is the man calling himself an “Islamist jihadist” and threatening the demise of Mormons and Catholics at sites across Arizona and Colorado, authorities said Tuesday. Before being spotted by police in Steamboat Springs last week, Christopher Dewitt Craig reportedly made a stop at Eastern Arizona College in Thatcher, Ariz. A spokesman for the institution said he didn’t believe Craig has ties there. On July 10, Craig, 32, reportedly entered a classroom at the college, raised a Bible in the air, asked the instructor whether he was Mormon and followed his response
Wednesday morning the Bureau of Economic Analysis released its Gross Domestic Product estimate for the second quarter of 2013. Though it will surely be revised up or down in the coming months, the number is 1.7%. In the first quarter of this year the GDP was 1.1%, revised down from initial estimates that were as high as 2.5%. The last quarter of 2012 saw the GDP grow only 0.1%. The result of today´s GDP announcement has resulted in almost uniformly positive headlines. Business Insider went with all caps: GDP CRUSHES EXPECTATIONS.
WASHINGTON- Scattered news reports say some restaurants are cutting employee hours or not hiring because of healthcare reform, but U.S. officials say it´s not true. "It turns out restaurants aren´t limiting hours on average -- they´re increasing them and restaurants are hiring at a faster pace than expected. All of which to say that the Affordable Care Act isn´t restraining job growth for restaurants at all," a statement by the White House said. The Obama administration’s interference in Texas’ redistricting and voter-ID litigation does not protect voting rights. It protects the Democratic Party. Recall that just a few months ago, high-ranking Obama operatives launched a campaign to “turn Texas blue.” The administration’s foray into Texas voting rights litigation is just another page in that political playbook. In redistricting, the Obama administration has aligned itself with Democratic state representatives and Democratic members of Congress who already are suing Texas. It is no surprise then that the legal position of President Obama’s attorneys seeks to improve Democratic candidates’ prospects.
A general examination to test eighth grade students in Kentucky´s Bullitt County school system in 1912 has stumped some adults and ignited a debate over the intelligence of children today. The arithmetic, geography, civil government, physiology, grammar and history questions range from ´What is a personal pronoun?´ to ´Who first discovered Lawrence River?´ and ´Define Cerebrum´. Posted on Lew Rockwell, the type-written test has promoted some adults to try and answer the questions, and caused some parents to critique the U.S. school system.
Huma Abedin, the Hillary Clinton loyalist and wife of embattled New York City mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner, will reportedly take an "extended vacation" from her job as the chief of staff of Hillary Clinton´s transition team. Politico reports the move is not a formal "leave of absence." “Huma is not taking a leave of absence, but she will be taking vacation time in August to support her family during Anthony’s campaign," a Weiner campaign source told Politico. “She had always intended to do this.” According to Politico, "it was a loose plan she’d had for weeks, since Hillary Clinton
The top state lawmakers in Illinois are suing Gov. Pat Quinn after he halted the salaries of legislators because of their failure to find a solution to the state´s $100 billion pension crisis. House Speaker Michael Madigan and Senate President John Cullerton, both Democrats, filed the 12-page complaint with the Circuit Court of Cook County Tuesday, calling Quinn´s actions "purely political and unconstitutional." "This matter is of fundamental constitutional importance, as Governor Quinn´s action threatens the independence of each branch of government," Cullerton and Madigan said in a joint news release. "The Illinois Constitution protects the salaries of members
After a long three-year gap since their last exclusive sit-down interview with President Obama, you might think The New York Times would be ready to ask tough questions on the most contentious issues of the day, beginning with the deepening Obama scandals. Wrong. Instead, the Times defined the “news” in this interview to be Obama’s counter-attacks. Their stories focused on Obama’s accusations that (a) the Republicans are liars about Obamacare, (b) the Republicans exaggerate the benefits of building the Keystone XL pipeline, and (c) the Republicans oppose his use of executive power because he has the gall
Conservative bloggers went wild Monday when they got wind of the Congressional Black Caucus’ suggestion that President Obama pick Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Houston for the post of Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. Rich Cooper, avid blogger for Security Debrief, responded to the news of the Jackson Lee recommendation in a post by saying, “Apparently, it is not a joke. For reasons that baffle any sense of reality, it is a serious gesture on the part of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) to encourage President Obama to nominate Rep. Jackson Lee
There have been days since her son Ezekiel was born 11 months ago that Los Angeles mom Beth Capper has gone without food to keep up her supply. One friend was arrested for stealing some. It´s not drugs or alcohol or even baby formula that has put her in such a bind. It´s diapers. "There´s no way around buying them," said Capper, a 41-year-old single mother who doesn´t work because of a disability. Across the country, mothers like Capper are facing the same predicament. According to a report published Monday in the
America is in great shape energy-wise. We have more gas and oil reserves than ever before. Indeed, the United States could shortly become the world’s largest exporter of coal. Our cheaper power rates may bring energy-intensive industry back from Europe and Asia. If America’s small colleges are nearly broke and our public schools failing, nonetheless our blue-chip universities’ math, science, and engineering departments, and professional schools, remain the best in the world. It is a small Alaskan village whose inhabitants have relied on the sea for countless generations. But within a decade, it is expected that the ocean which the village of Kivalina has so relied on will completely destroy it--creating America´s first climate change refugees. Temperatures in the Arctic region of Alaska are warming twice as fast as the rest of the U.S, causing ice to retreat, sea levels to rise and coastal erosion to increase. Anthony Weiner may have violated federal law when he failed to disclose his lavish six-figure wedding in his financial disclosure forms, says a government accountability group. Ethics watchdog group National Legal and Policy Center examined the federal Financial Disclosure Reports for both Weiner and long-suffering wife Huma Abedin for 2010, the year of their wedding. The cost for the ceremony was at least $100,000 but probably ran closer to $250,000 including all
In an interview on National Public Radio (NPR), House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said her new agenda for women will give mothers access to day care so they can “earn without carrying the burden of child care.” During the interview, aired on Weekend Edition Sunday, Pelosi spoke about her newly announced agenda, which is on her website, and is titled, “When Women Succeed, America Succeeds: An Economic Agenda for Women and Families,” a plan that includes universal pre-school and access to day care for working women, and an increase in the minimum wage.
Gotta figure her lead would be even bigger without Joe Miller in the field here. Her nomination for the taking? Alaska should be a top tier pick up opportunity for Senate Republicans next year…but their top choice of a candidate is Sarah Palin. 36% of GOP primary voters in the state say they’d like Palin to be their standard bearer against Mark Begich to 26% for Mead Treadwell, 15% for Dan Sullivan, and 12% for Joe Miller.
Many low-income families receive government assistance to help them purchase food and housing. Diapers are another story, a new study suggests. In what they are calling the first peer-reviewed study to quantify diaper need, Yale University researchers have found nearly a third of mothers cannot afford to purchase their infants diapers, raising health risks for not only babies but for moms who become stressed over the finances. "Notably absent from the antipoverty efforts targeting families is an essential staple for the health of children, diapers," wrote the researchers, led by Dr. Megan Smith,
Mideast: The sequester has "cost jobs," says President Obama, and "gutted investments in education and science and medical research." But somehow he´s earmarked $500 million for Hamas terrorists. Circumventing Congress and with no fanfare, President Obama last week issued an executive order enabling him to send an additional $500 million directly to the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank — much of which you can bet will wind up going to the Iranian-backed Hamas terrorist organization. According to Obama, "it is important to the national security interests of the United States to waive the provisions of" Congress´ legislative restrictions "in
The mother of Trayvon Martin said Monday that she believed Florida’s Stand Your Ground law played a role in her son’s shooting death, but she wasn’t ready to support a boycott of the state for not changing the self-defense law. “The thing about this law is I just think it assisted the person who killed my son to get away with murder,” Sybrina Fulton, the mother of the 17-year-old from Miami Gardens, said at a National Bar Association event in Miami Beach. “I think we have to change these laws so people don’t get
A group of experts advising the nation’s premier cancer research institution has recommended sweeping changes in the approach to cancer detection and treatment, including changes in the very definition of cancer and eliminating the word entirely from some common diagnoses. Karl Rove and more than one hundred Republican donors sent a letter to Republican members of Congress on Tuesday, urging them to pass a comprehensive immigration reform bill that would include, among other provisions, granting "legal status" to illegal aliens who meet certain criteria. Anticipating that lawmakers will face resistance to the bill when they go home for the August recess, the letter marks the escalation of a campaign in which Republican leaders and donors are pressuring House Republicans to act on an immigration reform bill.
