Darrell Issa: NLRB recess
appointees should step down now

Washington Examiner [DC], by Sean Higgins

Original Article

Posted By:JoniTx, 1/26/2013 2:37:20 AM

Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, emailed reporters the following statement in reaction to today’s ruling by the DC Court of Appeals that President Obama’s recess appointees to the National Labor Relations Board were unconstitutional: The President, who taught Constitutional law, should’ve known better. As the Oversight Committee examined in a hearing a year ago, President Obama’s appointments looked like an obvious election-year pander to big labor bosses. Today, we know that it is American workers who are going to pay the price for the Administration’s arrogant miscalculation.

I have a hundred big ones that says Obama will ignore this court order.
I´m not sure of the laws surrounding making an emergency appeal to the SC and if one judge could make the ruling. The ruling would probably be upheld if heard before the entire court but we just saw Hobby Lobby lose an appeal in front of Sotomanure.

Unless Obama appeals the NLRB ruling to the Supreme Court within a reasonable time period (say 90 days), his defiant failure to remove these illegal recess appointees from office will be an unlawful act and subject to Articles of Impeachment. I do doubt that he would be that stupid, but would welcome it if he was.
In the meantime, the original plaintiffs should seek an immediate stay on future NLRB decisions--including the illegal school bus strike in NYC, where union workers of private bus companies are striking to force NYC to guarantee their jobs even if other bus companies win the bids for new school bus contracts this Spring.

Mr Issa will achieve the same result with the NLRB chihuahuas.

Rescue teams, including dogs, battled heavy rain and strong winds on Friday as they continued to search for victims of the massive mudslide in Washington that killed at least 26 people. The official death toll stands at 17 because those bodies have been identified, but another nine have been found and authorities are working to identify them. Ninety people are still missing or unaccounted for - but authorities have warned that they are unlikely to find anyone alive nearly a week after the disaster. In school, a child who gets a 67 percent will generally get a D. But for Obamacare, 67 percent is apparently grounds for an A. Talk about grading on a curve. In 2012, the Congressional Budget Office projected that 9 million people would get health insurance for 2014 through Obamacare’s government-run exchanges. Two days ago, the Obama administration announced that 6 million people had gotten insurance for 2014 through those very same exchanges—and the administration could barely contain its glee. So, what gives? In the summer of 2012, the Supreme Court issued its Obamacare ruling, holding that Obamacare’s individual mandate was

And now he’s got an interesting conversation-starter. BRUSSELS— NATO’s next leader was announced Friday: former Norwegian Premier Jens Stoltenberg will lead the military alliance starting in October. The appointment comes at a critical time as the crisis over Ukraine has suddenly made the 28-nation alliance a more relevant security force in Europe. NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen will step down after a NATO summit in Wales later this year. “Warm congratulations” Fogh Rasmussen said in a Twitter message Friday to his fellow Scandinavian politician. The past weeks had seen a flurry of diplomacy as member states sought to push their candidates into NATO’s top political job. Norwegian

As part of its plan to reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, the Obama administration is targeting the dairy industry to reduce methane emissions in their operations. This comes despite falling methane emission levels across the economy since 1990. The White House has proposed cutting methane emissions from the dairy industry by 25 percent by 2020. Although U.S. agriculture only accounts for about 9 percent of the country’s greenhouse gas emissions, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, it makes up a sizeable portion of methane emissions — which is a very potent greenhouse gas. One by one, the myths of the Affordable Care Act have been revealed. When the curtain on open enrollment falls on March 31, the last remaining big myth of ObamaCare will be fully exposed: The individual mandate has failed. After a last-ditch effort with President Obama himself encouraging "young invincibles" to sign up before the deadline, the administration is scrambling to boost enrollment. On Tuesday, the White House announced that people who applied for coverage on the federal health-insurance exchange will have until mid-April to finish the paperwork. When Jorge Mario Bergoglio became Pope Francis a little more than a year ago, the first thing that struck those who knew him well was his unexpected, beatific smile. “In Argentina, he didn’t smile like that,” Sergio Rubin, the pope’s biographer, said this week at a conference sponsored by the Ethics and Public Policy Center. “That was the big surprise.” Since then, the pope has mostly kept on smiling — in homilies, in audiences, in meetings with the homeless and the poor.
