Global Warming: One NASA
Scientist Vs. More Than 20

Investors Business Daily, by Staff

Environment: President Obama warned in his second inaugural address of some who "may still deny the overwhelming judgment of science." Is he talking about the former NASA scientists who say man isn´t warming Earth? The most famous NASA scientist is James Hansen, the political activist and expert on the Venusian atmosphere who sounded the man-made global warming alarm at a 1988 congressional hearing. He´s just one man, but the media and the political left have made him out to be an infallible voice on climate change. We live in a society where dissent from the left-wing

I did not know that the Venusian atmosphere is James Hanson´s specialty. Maybe he was looking at temperature changes on Venus and got them confused with changes on earth.

Uhhh, yeah, but determining the truth in science isn´t done by vote-count.

Huge swaths of science are populated by truths that once only one person believed.

The "Science"

Ideologue: I hate capitalism and economic growth. Life would be better without all these horrible humans

Step 1 - take an obvious trend such as the warming of the earth since about 15,000 years ago when there was mile high pile of ice on the spot where Chicago stands today

Step 2: Take a trace element (about 350 ppm) that has fuctuated over the millenia and is either a leading or lagging indicator of general warming

Step 3 : Make unspported claims that this trace element is the key driver of the most recent years of a 15,000 year trend and extrapolate lousy data to show "the end is neigh" if we don´t collapse capitalism and use government power to kill off humans and shorten their life span (through increased diseaase, hunger, abortion and poverty)

Step 4 : Rather than treat CO2 climate forcing as an interesting theory, vilify anyone who disagrees with you and try to create mass hysteria while feeding at the government grant trough

Step 5 : Cash out, retire, move on to the next government funded scam before your crackpot claims are shown for what they are.

Hansen seems obsessed. His main target is fossil fuels, coal, oil, natural gas. And the lesser energy sources such as wood or biofuels.

And the weather data he controls may have been corrupted to support his arguments. That will only be settled by experts in the future when the political quarrels subside. If they ever do.

I do like the fact that he supports nuclear because he does not believe wind and solar can adequately replace fossil fuels. And new designs should end all fears of meltdowns and escaped radioactivity.

So he is not the classic green activist who thinks we can live w/o any risk at all and be sustained by magical energy machines.

Hansen has made a small fortune (not as big as Big Al) on the global warming scam. Everyone needs to post this on Facebook and send it to anyone they know that is still buying it.

I want to know why Hansen still has a job at NASA after Climategate.

If you go to the website for Obama´s new "President´s Global Development Council" you can read articles that clearly state they are inventing GW scare tactics to force nations to comply with agenda 21.

And if GW fails, then they´l move to their next invented crisis ... Invasion from Outer Space! I am not joking... and neither are they.

I´ve recently concluded these idiots will fail because they assume the entire world is Low Info sheeple and only they are enlightened.

Russia, China & India formed an anti-NWO alliance. Oh, they´ll play along to milk free $$ but just laugh at these utopian doped up idiots.

WASHINGTON — As Hillary Rodham Clinton mulls a second presidential bid, liberals are closely watching whether the onetime supporter of the Iraq war moves to the left or straddles the center. Democrats say economic issues such as raising the minimum wage and protecting Social Security have become paramount for anyone aiming to lead the party after years of tough economic times. During the 2008 primary campaign against Barack Obama, Clinton was hurt by her stand on the Iraq war while she was a senator. But she burnished her image among party loyalists during four years at the State Department in the

Powerful winds in the Pacific Ocean, which have driven surface heat deep underwater, could be the reason behind the current ‘pause’ in global warming. This is according to a joint Australian and U.S. study which has looked at why there has been a slowdown in the planet’s global average surface temperature over the past decade. Their research shows that trade winds in central and eastern parts of the Pacific have caused warm surface water to sink to the ocean´s depths, reducing the amount of heat in the atmosphere. Last year, scientists on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) said the pace of

A Nasa spacecraft orbiting the red planet has found the ´strongest indication´ that liquid water may still exist on the Martian surface. Images taken by Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter reveal ´finger-like´ markings on Martian slopes. Experts say that although they do not yet have a ´smoking gun´, they believe the markings are made by minerals which could not have left without flowing liquid. ´The features are dark, finger-like markings that advance down some Martian slopes when temperatures rise,´ Nasa said. The new clues include corresponding seasonal changes in iron minerals on the same slopes and a survey of ground temperatures and other traits at active

´ObamaCare" is useful shorthand for the Affordable Care Act not least because the law increasingly means whatever President Obama says it does on any given day. His latest lawless rewrite arrived on Monday as the White House decided to delay the law´s employer mandate for another year and in some cases maybe forever. ObamaCare requires businesses with 50 or more workers to offer health insurance to their workers or pay a penalty, but last summer the Treasury offered a year-long delay until 2015 despite having no statutory authorization. Like the individual mandate, the employer decree is central to ObamaCare´s claim of

Big Government: A 20-year-old memo says Hillary Clinton backed a single-payer socialist health system, believing ObamaCare-like mega-regulation to be "a crock." As president, she´d double down on government control. It´s buried over 60 paragraphs into Alana Goodman´s investigative article in the Washington Free Beacon this week about unpublished documents exposing Clinton´s ruthlessness. Among the papers of Hillary adviser and close friend Diane Blair at the University of Arkansas is an account of a Feb. 23, 1993 White House dinner Blair attended. The first lady had just launched her secretive health care task force pushing a "managed competition" approach to reform. Hillary commented "at

Is Barack Obama trying to shift alliances in the Middle East away from traditional allies and toward Iran? Robert Kaplan, author and geopolitical analyst for the Stratford consulting firm, thinks so. In a realclearworld.com article, Kaplan argues that the Obama administration sees the recently elected Iranian President Hassan Rouhani "as a potential Deng Xiaoping, someone from within the ideological solidarity system who can, measure-by-stealthy-measure, lead his country away from ideology and toward internal reform." Such a development, he goes on, is "something that could, in turn, result in an understanding with the West." That of course is not what the president and Secretary

Deja Vu: As the U.S. defense posture continues to slump, several onetime allies are getting nervous about growing threats and starting to rearm. Not to be alarmist, but isn´t that what happened just before World War II? It´s no exaggeration to say that President Obama, by slashing defense spending, is encouraging other nations to step up their arms programs to fill the growing void left by a shrinking U.S. military. The numbers are stark. According to a recent report by the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments, U.S. defense outlays hit a post-World War II high in 2010. Since then, after inflation,

Chuck Schumer is the kind of senator who gives used-car salesmen a bad name. My colleague Jerry Kammer used a colloquy between Schumer and Senator Rob Portman last year on the Senate floor to illustrate the two lawmakers’ differing approaches to the immigration issue. Portman, whatever his views on the broader questions of immigration, wanted to make sure any new law would actually work, whereas Schumer’s focus was simply to get a legislative deal completed. He remains proud of his role in putting together the last-minute deal that allowed passage of the 1986 amnesty bill, despite the fact that it
