Italian tourist busted at
posh East Side steakhouse for
forgetting wallet, even after

New York Daily News, by Kerry Burke & Joe Kemp

Welcome to New York, pal — now go to jail. An Italian tourist spent his second night in the city behind bars after staff at an upscale East Side steakhouse called cops when he claimed he left his wallet at a friend’s place. Graziano Graziussi, a 43-year-old lawyer from Naples, is a regular at Smith & Wollensky — but this time, barely 24 hours into his latest two-week stay in New York, he realized he didn’t have his wallet on him when a waiter presented him with the $208 bill Monday night. “I forgot my wallet,” the clean-cut Graziussi

It happens in Grenada Mississippi too. At a restaurant that doesn´t take credit cards or checks, I saw a patron arrested for not having the cash on hand to cover his tab.

There´s a lot of people that steal meals claiming they´ll be back with the money. I don´t blame the restaurant for not letting him walk out without paying. Besides, if he had an phone with him, call someone to bring your wallet to you.

They did that to a regular? Nice... That will teach you to eat at a chain restaurant in NY ;)
That´s going to be one heck of a Yelp review!

Assuming his story was true, this is just one more example of the death of common sense.

My wallet fell out of my jacket pocket at the doctor´s office the other day. I was heading out to lunch afterwards. Fortunately, the doctor´s receptionist saw my wallet and returned it to me.

You can lose you wallet. It happens. It was a brand new jacket and the pocket just wasn´t quite right for storing a wallet but I didn´t realize it until it fell out. That does not make me a criminal.

A simple solution, check your money before you order.

On the other hand, this guy is a lawyer. Never trust a lawyer.

#3, read the opening to the story. The guy is from Italy. He´s a tourist. How much of a regular can he be? It´s not like he´s there three times a week.

Also, how did he get there without a wallet? He left it 30 blocks away? We´re supposed to believe he walked 30 blocks to grab dinner or a cabbie let him have a free ride.

This article is amusing on several levels. However, I´ll address the one with which I am most familiar: the sense of humor and game-playing of the Southern Italian man.

The night´s adventure our Italian friend endured will provide him many stories for his friends back in Naples! It is the sport of the game that makes it all worth it!

I was eating at Corky and Lenny´s in Cleveland one night with friends. I thought I had enough to cover the bill, but had forgotten I spent some money earlier in the day. I had my ATM card and driver´s license in my wallet. I asked them if I could leave my wallet with them and go to the ATM right across the street, visible from the lobby. They called the cops on me. When the cops came, they asked the manager what his problem was, that they didn´t have time for that kind of nonsense. They wanted to press charges. The cops said "For what?" and walked me 50 feet to the ATM machine.

Now, some of those very Americans will be featured in the much anticipated Sportsman Channel program, Amazing America with Sarah Palin. The former Alaska governor creates a buzz with everything she touches, and this exciting new series is no different. In fact, the energy around the new show is pulsating. Amazing America with Sarah Palin is an anthology of stories exploring people, places, and pastimes connected to outdoor lifestyle. Palin, the First Lady of the Outdoors, makes for the perfect host. For a family that has been vocal about disliking the media, the Palins sure have participated in a fair amount of TV shows. Continuing that tradition, Sarah Palin stars in “Amazing America with Sarah Palin,” premiering Thursday night on the Sportsman Channel. The docu-series follows the former Alaska governor/vice presidential candidate around the country as she and a crew explore “people, places and pastimes connected to America’s outdoor lifestyle.” This is just the latest in a long line of TV shows for the Palins — perhaps not unexpectedly, several have had their share of controversy attached. Suddenly the subject of income inequality has turned into a global love train. Politicians and public-policy shops all over the world are hopping onboard. Naturally the engineer is Barack Obama, who gives speeches on income inequality and won a presidential election by rolling over 1% of the population. Democrats in this year´s midterm elections are running on income inequality, and this is rational. Their alternatives don´t look attractive, despite ObamaCare´s seven million recruits. Less obvious is the linkage being made now between global warming and—what else?—income inequality. Or that the International Monetary Fund is moving income inequality to the top of

Military Gun-Free Zones Clarified,

With the April 2 shooting at Ft. Hood--the second such shooting at that base in five years--it is important to remember that military gun-free zones were implemented under President Bill Clinton. As Breitbart News reported on September 17--the day after Aaron Alexis opened fire on unarmed personnel in the gun-free DC Navy Yard--military bases became gun free zones just months into Clinton´s presidency. To be fair, the original directive (5210.56) relating to military gun-free zones was issued during the last months of President George H.W. Bush´s presidency. Then, an implementing regulation (AR 190-14)--which clarified and revised 5210.56--was issued just months

The only thing missing from President Obama´s Rose Garden press conference Tuesday was a "Mission Accomplished" banner. With Chris Christie in deep trouble, Republican poobahs are reportedly looking to Jeb Bush to save their party in 2016. The former two-term governor of Florida speaks fluent Spanish, is a convert to Catholicism, and has high name recognition. Jeb could raise millions of dollars over night by just saying “yes” to running. Despite all this, there are strong reasons Republicans should say no to him. 1. His last name is poison. Let’s face it, if Jeb Bush had the last name of Something Else he would have already run for president in 2008 or 2012. According to a recent Washington Post/ABC News poll registered voters were asked if they would definitely NOT vote for Jeb Bush and 50 percent said they would not.
