Army Removes Crosses,
Steeple from Chapel

Fox News, by Todd Starnes

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 1/24/2013 10:32:45 PM

The U.S. military reportedly ordered soldiers to remove a cross and a steeple from atop a chapel and to board up cross-shaped windows at a remote American forward operating base in Afghanistan. The removal of Christian symbols from the chapel at Forward Operating Base Orgun-E came after a solider complained — leading American Atheists president David Silverman to send a letter to the Pentagon. “Soldiers with minority religious beliefs and atheists often feel like second-class citizens when Christianity is seemingly officially endorsed by their own base,” Silverman told Fox News.

Comments:
This story scares me on many levels. First, if I was serving, I would seriously be tested by my Faith to disobey this rule. Second, I would probably really feel I was losing control and would ask to turn my weapons [and uniforms] in based on anger at "this" minority to begin with.

I would never serve in a Military that does not put God first in their reason for their protection and authority.

Just more 0bama smoke & mirrors with our Military.

I think if you add up all the Muslim, Catholic, and Protestant intolerance of all time, you still don´t get the murderous take of even one of the nonbelievers of the 20th century, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, lotta candidates, each of them outdoing all the believers put together. It´s deep, it’s dark and it’s mysterious. It could also swallow the world’s tallest building, end-to-end, four times — and still have room for more. The Tasmania-sized area of the southern Indian Ocean where Flight MH370 is believed to have crashed is not only tempestuous and broad. It is also chillingly deep — so much so that natural light cannot penetrate the blackness and even whales cannot dive to the bottom. As the hunt for the missing Malaysia Airlines jet drags on, we look at the mysteries of the sea and examine the search challenges below the waves.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve found myself in a bunch of conversations in which the unspoken assumption was that the main goal of life is to maximize happiness. That’s normal. When people plan for the future, they often talk about all the good times and good experiences they hope to have. We live in a culture awash in talk about happiness. In one three-month period last year, more than 1,000 books were released on Amazon on that subject. But notice this phenomenon. When people remember the past, they don’t only talk about happiness. It is often the ordeals that seem most significant. People shoot for happiness but feel
