In short, pretty much anything worth having.
If this passes I want a ban on hairspray and wrinkles. It makes about as much sense and would make Feinstein disappear.

"...the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." Amendment II

Interesting, isn´t it, that the so-called Liberals are the first ones to infringe on Speech, on Religion (of their choosing, namely Christianity), expression IF it´s conservative or opposition expression... And on the Right to bear arms.

They are liars, and promoters of lies, lying liars; and fathering lies by the dozens; deceivers, malefactors, pervy perverts of the True and the Good.

Nope, this is just a head fake (for now).

What this does is to outrage virtually everybody. Then they´ll come back with "sensible firearms registration" or "reasonable background checks" or "closing the gun show loophole", and the Republicans will go along with them in order to be bipartisan...

Reply 12 - Posted by: laotzu, 1/24/2013 3:46:45 PM     (No. 9137090)

Good Americans cannot win the battle with Progs by playing Defense. We´ve heard this so often over the years. In any political battle, the natural instinct of every public official is to compromise. So, when the Left asks to ban all guns, we compromise and say, "how bout just some guns?"

A slightly less bad result is obtained from the "just say no" tactical position. Let´s ban all guns! "No!" It´s somewhat more effective until the political stars align against you, and millions of slack-jawed, droopy-drawered, grill-wearing, fatherless, handout monkeys suddenly vote to ban all guns.

That leaves the only reasonable response to preserving our freedoms -- take the offensive. And that requires memorializing our 2nd Amendment protections with the same political trip-wires and fortifications enjoyed by Obamacare and every other stupid liberal idea that´s come down the pike since FDR. We need to affirmatively institutionalize the exercise of 2nd Amendment freedoms. We need free government provided firearms education, an office of civil gun rights, and a Department of Personal Safety. Until politicians have a place at the trough to partake of the economic benefit of gun enthusiasts, and unproductive make-work that goes with the nationalization of all all aspects of modern life, they will simply not leave us alone.

In short, let´s start a campaign for government activism in support of gun ownership and shooting sports, and we may finally rest easy.

And thank you Diane, my sub-2000 just jumped in value . . . again. If you guys keep it up, I´ll be able to retire early.

If the House were to introduce a bill (like the Ryan Budget), that had no chance of passing the Senate, would the Press cover it at all? So, why does Feinstein´s proposed legislation get any air time? It has no chance in the House. It is just so much grandstanding.

There are 5 or 6 seats up for re-election in 2014. If Obama thinks that Dingy is going to endanger his leadership position and majority by voting against his own interests, he had better rethink things through. Blue on blue violence, as Allahpundit calls it, is going to get really ugly the next year or so, as the liberals fight each other over the spoils.

Hopefully by now, those affected manufacturers and their employees have contacted their local, state and federal elected reps with specific job and tax impacts and an urgent demand to know what they will do to stop this nonsense. At the same time, those involved in federal or blue state sales need to immediately reexamine their sales and pricing data before considering taking those 30 pieces of silver!

The named list of guns is only a part of the gun ban proposal, they also want to ban any semi-automatic rifle or handgun that can accept a detachable magazine that could possible contain over 10 rounds of ammo. They also want to ban any semi-automatic rifle or pistol that exhibits one so-called military attribute such as a hand grip. In total they are talking about banning just about all modern semi-automatic rifles and pistols. That would wipe out much of the conservative oriented US small arms and related industries along with tens of thousands of well paying jobs in those industries.

This is the Obama Care of Obama´s second term. I don´t think the Republicans can let anything like this to go through the congress, because if they do they will definitely meet opposition in their next primary elections. Also the Democrats have to defend 20 Senate seats and gun control has always been a election loser for them, so look for anything that does get through the congress to be heavily watered down, probably containing enhanced background investigation authorities designed to make it harder for seriously mentally ill people to buy firearms, enhanced penalties for straw purchasers, and many controls on how guns can be stored in homes.

Mark Kelly´s campaign against "assault weapons" such as the AR-15 rifle has sparked a local backlash. On March 13, a Tucson, Arizona radio host published a photograph of former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords holding an AR-15 rifle at a gun range. Giffords has since confirmed that the photograph is authentic. James T. Harris, blogging at the website of "101.4 FM The Truth," wrote: What is wrong with this picture? Absolutely nothing, and prior to the aggressive progressive opportunistic fear mongering in the wake of Sandy Hook, this picture would have raised no eyebrows and garnered little public attention. DALLAS — The four-alarm fire that engulfed the DFW Gun Range at 1607 West Mockingbird Lane in Dallas Sunday afternoon was apparently triggered by unauthorized tracer rounds. By Sunday night, the concern had shifted to the weapons that remained in the smoldering wreckage of the one-story building. Heavy black smoke was visible from downtown Dallas soon after the first alarm was sounded at 2:37 p.m. About 50 people were inside the gun range when the fire broke out, but all were able to escape safely. Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”
