The brief honeymoon between New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and President Obama appears to be over. The Republican lawmaker slammed Obama´s second inaugural address earlier this week, calling it excessively partisan. “Instead of trying to bring people together it was a manifesto for, ‘Hey, it’s my way or the highway,’ ” Christie said during a radio interview reported by PolitickerNJ. The governor added that he hoped Obama would make more of an attempt to unify the parties in his second term. “We’re going to see how he acts moving forward,” Christie said. The comments were some of the first critical

Interesting to see politicians take themselves out of contention for 2016, one by one. Christie did it with his unnecessary post-Sandy wet kiss to the visiting Obama. Now Cuomo has done it with that loud and insane anti-gun tirade. So the field narrows. Can´t imagine what The Clown or The Witch would have to do to take themselves out.

Rep. Dan Benishek (R-Mich.) this week proposed a resolution marking the 200th year of the Francis Scott Key poem that later became the national anthem of the United States. "The Star Spangled Banner tells the story of America — a story about triumph over great challenges and how ordinary people can change the world," Benishek said this week. "We all know the lines to this simple but extraordinary poem, and its words ring as true today as they did two centuries ago." His resolution, H.Con.Res. 87, recounts that the origin of the song is the Battle of Baltimore, a fight

Kerry Kennedy has been found not guilty of drugged driving — and gave herself a hearty round of applause after jurors were dismissed from court by a Westchester County judge. The jury handed down the verdict after just 30 minutes of deliberation Friday morning. The six-member panel had deliberated about 45 minutes Thursday night after being handed the case. Kennedy — who had faced up to a year in jail if convicted — hugged both her lawyers as the verdict was read, and then began clapping after the jurors left the courtroom. Her lawyers and a band of supporters, including

The volume of significant news going unreported in the establishment press has gone from astonishing to surreal. The best example of that, as intrepid NewsBusters posters have noted now for nine months, is the virtually complete blackout in the establishment press of developments in the IRS-conservative targeting scandal. Separately, left-leaning law professor Jonathan Turley warned a Congressional committee on Wednesday that President Obama´s extensive use of executive orders, executive actions, and unilateral regulatory moves threatens to enable the President, as Turley phrased it in a Fox News interview on Thursday, to "effectively become a government unto himself." If Turley had
