Kerry: Clinton set ‘high
mark’ during tenure at State

The Hill [Washington, DC], by Julian Pecquet

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 1/24/2013 12:13:06 PM

Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) vowed Thursday to build on Hillary Clinton´s “superb” record if he´s confirmed to replace her as secretary of State. “Secretary Clinton has been superb and we all thank her for a job well done and for her tireless efforts on behalf of the nation,” Kerry said before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. “She has set a high mark for her stewardship of the State Department and her commitment to country. I can pledge that, with the consent of the Senate, I will do everything in my power to build on her record

Comments:
The disastrous things going on in this regime and this country right now are beyond disturbing. If Kerry´s appointment wasn´t so tragic and a farce it would be hysterically funny. Every one of these incompetent traitors makes us less safe.

She set a high mark as in a record LOW!

Her record was terrible. If she was a sports team, they would have the first pick in the draft.

Well, things may be looking up for Hillary. Senator Kerry stands a good chance of beating her record low.

Sentor Kerry, remember the Minnesota Army National Guard "Red Bulls" from 2004?

I think he believes that Massachusetts is a foreign nation to be dealt with by the Secretary of State.

Law-enforcement officials in the U.S. are expanding the use of tools routinely used by computer hackers to gather information on suspects, bringing the criminal wiretap into the cyber age. Federal agencies have largely kept quiet about these capabilities, but court documents and interviews with people involved in the programs provide new details about the hacking tools, including spyware delivered to computers and phones through email or Web links—techniques more commonly associated with attacks by criminals. People familiar with the Federal Bureau of Investigation´s programs say that the use of hacking

A handwritten note about Obamacare from President Obama was auctioned off for nearly $10,000. The auction house Nate D. Sanders put the final bid at $9,799. Some 10 people bid on the note in the July auction, and it was one of the highest bids for an Obama letter in his presidency. Here is how Sanders promoted the letter: "Excellent-content autograph letter signed by Barack Obama on his health care legislation. On official White House stationery, undated but likely early 2010, Obama writes in full, ´´Beth - I received your letter, and want you to hear back from me.

Like a battered spouse in an abusive relationship, the Pentagon paid billions of dollars to companies even though the same companies were known to have defrauded the government in the past, according to a report compiled by Department of Defense officials. But the Pentagon´s ability to research sanctions levied by DOD offices against contractors, and to monitor sanctioned contractors as they merge, acquire new names and become new companies, is as piecemeal and filled with guesswork as that of anyone trying to do such research from the outside, with limited integrated systems and unique identifiers, the report said.

Hillary Clinton, get ready for your close-up. The former secretary of state and potential 2016 presidential candidate is the subject of a series of Hollywood projects set for release in the near future. On the line-up: An NBC miniseries called “Hillary,” a CNN documentary based on Clinton’s life and a movie, dubbed “Rodham,” dramatizing her early years as a Washington lawyer. Plus, there’s an HBO documentary about former President Bill Clinton in the works. Martin Scorsese (of “Taxi Driver” fame) is directing that film, which will focus on his presidency and post-White House life. What’s causing the flood?

Republican New Jersey governor Chris Christie is appealing to “ChristieCrats” in a new re-election ad touting his bipartisan credentials. The Youtube ad, which the Christie campaign is quick to note does not appear on television or radio, highlights the outburst of Democratic love for the governor following his high-profile embrace of President Obama after Hurricane Sandy late last October — a move that angered many national Republicans who felt the photo op damaged Mitt Romney’s chances in the 2012 presidential election. “There are so many Democrats endorsing Chris Christie’s re-election that they actually have a name, ‘ChristieCrats,’”

For children in the Middle East “summer camp” could mean rocket launchers, hand grenades, suicide vests and learning how to manage an improvised explosive device (IED). His termination letter included allegations of serious workplace misconduct such as violating public records laws. By granting a yearly and renewable asylum to Edward Snowden, Vladimir Putin has challenged President Barack Obama. He has made it clear that the famous “reset” button with Russia, signed onto and endorsed by Hillary Clinton when she was secretary of State, meant only that the United States would allow Russia to get away with what it wanted in international affairs as long as Putin’s authority was not challenged. Russia would continue to aid its Syrian ally, no matter what “red lines” were crossed, and all the United States would do is urge Russia to act differently.

Climatologists at Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment have warned the likely rate of change over the next century will be at least 10 times quicker than any climate shift since the dinosaurs became extinct. If the trend continues at its current rapid pace, it will place significant stress on terrestrial ecosystems around the world, and many species will need to make behavioral, evolutionary or geographic adaptations to survive, they said.
