As a teen in the 1960s, I idolized Jim, my slightly older street-smart cousin who lived in a tough area of Baltimore. Murders were common at the bar on the corner from his home. I was Jim´s nerdy, naïve preacher´s-kid cousin who visited from suburbia. Sleepovers at Jim´s home in the city were exciting. "Downtown, where all the lights are bright..." You know the song. Walking from the Yakamee joint, "Casanova" Jim coached, "Just say you love them."
Excellent article by someone whose voice is too often ignored in our culture because it doesn´t fit inside the lefties´ racial box.
Time and again studies have shown that children born to situations like this (baby momma and daddy who has many other baby mommas) are doomed to a life of poverty and poor coping skills. Clearly there are some who prefer this arrangement when it comes to black families, and they´re not all black. Some even claim to have good intentions.
If only this message could win over the liberal mantra. I had hoped in my lifetime that the pendulum would swing back and that the black community would fight back at the way they have been used by the likes of our community organizer in chief. But, Im losing hope.
FTA: They say we must embrace the new "amoral" culture and liberal thinking that produces shows like All My Babies´ Mamas. I say, "Balderdash!"
While I agree we must not embrace amoral culture, we do need to learn how to speak to those who do. If all we do is talk to fellow Conservatives in our usual language we will convince no others to join us. We need to maintain our principles but walk and talk with the unenlightened. No progress can be made otherwise. It´s like doing Missionary work.
I always enjoy Lloyd Marcus´ articles because he is spot on. However, I would like to add that another reason ´All My Bebe´s Mamas´ was yanked off Oxygen was because of Racism. It was not advantageous for the irresponsibility, immorality, and serial sexual chaos so pervasively accepted in the black community to be paraded before the publics´ eyes. OTOH, it´s perfectly fine for po white trash and those goofy yay-hoo white rednecks to put on shows for the liberals to mock, aka honey boo boo and the slew of other ´reality´ shows portraying those backward white hicks in the South. But, oh, no, do not portray any family of color in the same way. Not allowed in obamaland. It riles up the taxpaying public and makes handouts for freeloaders harder to ram through congress if the tax-paying rubes catch on.
Clint Eastwood´s mama drama is not the ´norm´ amongst the white community, at least not yet. Unfortunately, bebe mama and bebe dede is widely accepted in the black community. More unfortunatly, because it is glamorized in the media, it is now spreading to other cultures. I think of myself as a dinosaur b/c I will not attend baby showers for unwed mothers. But then, who cares? I am old and will die off soon, especially with 0bamacare. Sorry for the double post.
Democrats in the south lost the slavery issue after the civil war. The law of the land abolished slavery, but deep-seated attitudes and beliefs didn´t. So the racist democrats simply reversed tactics to try to continue to keep the black community a sub-culture in America. Segregation, lynchings, voter intimidation were the norm in the democratic deep south. When the civil rights movement began gaining strength, and blacks began to understand, embrace and peacefully fight for their worth, democrats quickly adapted by continuing to discreetly enslave the black community, employing a different tact-convince the black community that democrats "care" by passing liberal policies, ie Johnson´s "war on poverty" and other social programs that were designed to do only 1 thing: fool the black community ("slaves") into believing the democratic party "cared", by passing social programs that would discourage any financial impetus to better themselves through education and socially responsible behavior (2 parent families, etc). This ensures that the black community is consistently and effectively duped into believing they are indebted to liberal policies for their survival. It provides lifetime democrat voters and fulfills the subconscious desire to keep blacks in invisible chains by encouraging them to eschew fully integrating into American society as a whole. If only the black community could understand the truth about the history of the democratic party and their agenda. They are still enslaved by the democratic agenda in the days of slavery and don´t even realize it.
#7 nails the real reason for yanking the show. Nothing that undermines the agenda is to be allowed. Nothing.
Agree about Clint Eastwood. It is not the norm for majority of whites yet, and he has always remained in the lives of his kids. Not abandoned them like what we see in the black community. He has really nice and well adjusted kids.
Not sticking up for Clint but it takes two to make these babies. Too many women are willing to go to bed with men, especially those who are in the public eye. Maybe thinking they will snag them but that doesn´t usually happen and if it does it does not last.
The Advocate reports that the Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal´s office will cancel food stamp benefits for anyone who participated in a fraud and shopping spree catalyzed by an EBT malfunction. More than 12,000 people were sent an insufficient funds notice when the problem with the EBT cards was fixed on Oct. 12; those who transgressed may lose their EBT cards for a year. Suzy Sonnier, the secretary of state at the Department of Children and Family Services, released a statement saying: "We must protect the program for those who receive and use their benefits appropriately according to the law. We
Senator Marco Rubio began this year amid buzz that he was the logical choice to win the Republican presidential nomination in 2016. He is likely to finish it on a decidedly lower note, partly removed from the national spotlight, eclipsed by the rising star from Texas, Ted Cruz. Last week, attendees at the conservative Values Voter Summit in Washington, D.C., overwhelmingly chose Cruz as their preferred GOP candidate for 2016. The freshman senator blew away the competition with 42 percent of the vote. Rubio, meanwhile, placed fifth, behind Senator Rand Paul, political novice Dr. Ben Carson, and unsuccessful 2012 candidate
A billboard showing a tattooed Jesus Christ has stirred up quite a bit of buzz in the heart of the Bible Belt. The ad, which is the work of the website Jesustattoo.org, popped up along a West Lubbock, Texas, highway, and it’s got people talking. It shows a man, ostensibly Jesus Christ, with outstretched arms tattooed with such words as “Outcast,” “Addicted, “Jealous.” “I don’t like the picture. I think it’s very derogatory,” a local-area resident told the CBS affiliate KEYE-TV. On the website, a video casts Jesus as a tattoo artist and shows several tattooed individuals approaching him to
HOUSTON — Morgan Weber grew up eating poppy-seed kolaches baked by his Czech grandmother, who honed her technique on a wood stove. Kolaches, soft pastries of yeasted dough with a divot in the center, traditionally filled with sweetened cheese or fruit, are a humble link to the Old World. But in the Revival Market in this city’s Heights neighborhood, Mr. Weber and his business partner, Ryan Pera, the market’s chef, serve sweet and savory pastries that are decidedly American: kolaches laden with satsuma oranges or filled with strawberries and ricotta cheese, and savory versions girded with house-made sausages poached in
This week, the McDonald’s location at Main and Gray got some extra special attention for a sign at its side entrance imploring those sliding in for burgers and fries to pull their pants up. It’s been there for weeks but the right person must have just seen since it’s right up there next to the government shutdown in everyone’s mind. The same sign is up at the McDonald’s at Westheimer and Kirkwood too. And hey, it looks like Happy Meals are $1.99 on Tuesdays now. I know where I’m going after happy hour. “No one wants to see your underwear,”
VATICAN CITY (AP) — Pope Francis has warned that the Catholic Church´s moral structure might "fall like a house of cards" if it doesn´t balance its divisive rules about abortion, gays and contraception with the greater need to make the church a merciful, more welcoming place for all. Six months into his papacy, Francis set out his vision for the church and his priorities as pope in a remarkably lengthy and self-critical interview with La Civilta Cattolica, the Italian Jesuit magazine. It was published simultaneously Thursday in Jesuit journals in 16 countries, including America magazine in the U.S. In the
On the eve of the 12th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Barack Obama made the strongest possible case for the use of force against Bashar Assad’s Syrian regime. But it wasn’t a very strong case. Indeed, it was built on a false premise: “We can stop children from being gassed to death,” he said, after he summoned grisly images of kids writhing and foaming at the mouth and then dying on hospital floors. Does he really think we can do that with a limited military strike—or the rather tenuous course of diplomacy now being pursued? We might not be
Wadi Gaitan, a 24-year-old House Republican staffer who serves as a Spanish-speaking spokesman, TV booker and occasional tutor, was stumped. He was trying to teach a Republican lawmaker how to say “sequester” in Spanish, but the literal translation was proving to be problematic. “That one was tricky at first. I couldn’t figure it out, because in Spanish, ‘secuestrar’ literally means to kidnap someone,” Gaitan said. “I said, let’s not use the literal translation, because we don’t want to say that we’re kidnapping people, or that President Obama is kidnapping people.” Probably a good call. Now Republicans say “recortes automáticos” —
In a pair of columns released Monday and Tuesday, Fox Sports columnist Jason Whitlock voiced his belief that rap music and its widespread use of the N-word were major factors in Trayvon Martin’s death. Whitlock, an African-American, certainly doesn’t believe that rap and N-word use were the only things to blame. “Although I believe the jury reached the only logical conclusion based on the trial, I’m highly disappointed Zimmerman was not held criminally responsible for following Martin, ignoring police instructions and shooting a 17-year-old kid after losing a fight his pursuit instigated,” he wrote.
As far as the Trayvon Martin situation goes, acquittal or no acquittal, the whole event and subsequent trial is a tragedy. And Skittles and iced tea or not, 17-year-old Trayvon should never have been lurking about in a hoodie between buildings on a dark rainy night in a townhouse complex. Now, regardless of how or why this boy died, a child is dead and will never have an opportunity to grow out of the typical youthful foolishness which ultimately cost him his life. And for every hoodie-wearing thug out there who´s now blaming George Zimmerman for Trayvon´s death,
Profiting from the death of a child is sick and disgusting. Unfortunately, this describes the circle of exploiters promoting the Trayvon Martin traveling show after his death in February 2012. And if you´re Trayvon´s parents, there´s nothing like having the president, the attorney general, the state attorney general, several civil rights lawyers, and invested others to help you in your campaign. Shame on Sybrina Fulton, Tracy Martin, the State of Florida, the lawyers, and all the vultures picking a dead kid´s bones clean for a lousy buck and political points.
WASHINGTON — Say what you want about President Obama but you got to give the guy credit. He finally discovered the holy grail for dislodging the bloated ranks of federal workers from their jobs. Force them into Obamacare! According to a report in Politico Thursday, lawmakers and their staff all over Capitol Hill are heading for the exits. Turns out, they can endure the toxic air of politics, slavishly long hours, dinky offices and lecherous lawmakers creeping up and down the halls. But one thing they simply will not abide?
I have never been much of a conspiracy theorist. For me it was always Oswald by himself from the Texas School Book Depository and nothing in the intervening fifty years has disabused me of this notion. For the most part, I’m an Occam’s Razor kind of guy — the most obvious explanation is likely to be true. (Snip) To put it bluntly, Occam’s Razor has moved. Things that were once possibilities now seem almost certainties to me. Principal among those is that Obama’s academic records are perpetually unavailable for a reason — and that reason is most likely that they reveal
One of President Obama´s chief political assets has been his ability to excite young people like almost no politician in history. But the days of America´s youth fawning over the president are over. A new Harvard University Institute of Politics poll released Wednesday confirms what other surveys have shown in recent months: Millennials have soured on Obama so much this year that their opinion of him largely mirrors the American public´s. Even though Obama does not ever have to face another election, he should be worried about the findings for a couple of reasons, which we will dive into momentarily.
Last summer on his $100 million family tour of Africa, Barack Obama hoped for a priceless photo op with Nelson Mandela, the ailing freedom pioneer who went from prison cell to the presidency of South Africa. Mandela´s family suggested that wouldn’t happen. So, the Obamas did a photo op in Mandela´s former prison cell. Which Obama’s White House quickly tweeted upon word of the icon´s passing at 95. [Skip] But Obama was also caught staring at television coverage of Mandela’s passing, which became Obama’s Photo of the Day.
Hardly a week goes by without Hillary Clinton receiving another award. Last month she was named a “Global Champion” by the International Medical Corps, received the American Patriot Award at the National Defense University Foundation and the Hermandad Award from the Mexican American Leadership Initiative. [Snip] At this rate, if a bunch of elderly left-wing Swedes toss her the Nobel Peace Prize early on, the way they did to Obama, it will barely rate mention among all the other glittering trophies that have been bestowed on a woman whose only actual accomplishment was being married to a crooked governor with
A stunning new study unveiled on Fox News´ Hannity finds that President Barack Obama’s White House calendar records just one face-to-face meeting between Obama and his Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in the more than three-and-a-half years leading up to the disastrous Obamacare launch. The startling statistic comes from a new Government Accountability Institute (GAI) analysis of Obama’s own official White House calendar, as well as the Politico presidential calendar, and raises new questions about Obama’s executive leadership and management throughout the implementation of his singular legislative achievement. More alarming still, the president’s schedule lists 277 private
Speaker John Boehner said his party should support gay Republican congressional candidates and urged his colleagues to “be a little more sensitive” when running against women. “Some of our members just aren’t as sensitive as they ought to be,” Boehner said. When asked if he thinks his party should support gay candidates, Boehner simply said: “I do.”
In February, the Bush family’s personal emails were hacked by Guccifer, a hacker who uncovered photographs of former President George H. W. Bush in a hospital bed and George W. Bush’s oil paintings in the process. It seems Guccifer has struck again, this time targeting former President Bill Clinton and the Clinton Library. The hacker has reportedly uncovered doodles of Clinton drawing on what were, at the time, classified documents. Among the doodles is apparently a picture of a penis. The document uncovered is a briefing of the strategic measures the United States could take prior Clinton’s decision to intervene in
Amid an array of “knock-out” attacks against a number of Jews in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights neighborhood, a city councilwoman pointed to the success of the Jewish community as triggering the aggression. Councilwoman-elect Laurie Cumbo emphasized that while she “admire[s] the Jewish community immensely” for its work ethic, black teens may see it differently. “While I personally regard this level of tenacity, I also recognize that for others, the accomplishments of the Jewish community triggers feelings of resentment, and a sense that Jewish success is not also their success,” Cumbo, who was recently elected, wrote in a letter. Chief among the issues
On Tuesday, The Boston Globe reported that Onyango “Omar” Obama, uncle to President Obama, says that his famous nephew stayed with him while a student at Harvard Law School in the 80s, in contradiction to The White House’s contention that the two had never met. At Thursday’s White House daily briefing, Press Secretary Jay Carney confirmed that the President had, in fact, briefly stayed with “his father’s half-brother,” as Carney described Omar Obama, and that no one had actually asked the President about it when the White House initially commented. The 69 year-old Omar Obama has been facing deportation back
Denver - A baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex ceremony must serve gay couples despite his religious beliefs or face fines, a judge said Friday. The order from administrative law judge Robert N. Spencer said Masterpiece Cakeshop in suburban Denver discriminated against a couple "because of their sexual orientation by refusing to sell them a wedding cake for their same-sex marriage." The order says the cake-maker must "cease and desist from discriminating" against gay couples. Although the judge did not impose fines in this case, the business will face penalties if it continues to turn away gay
The world premiere of the “Ballad for Trayvon Martin for Orchestra and Jazz Quartet” is set for tonight. Princeton University’s director of its jazz-studies program composed the work in honor of the Florida teen. Anthony D. J. Branker told the Star-Ledger that the piece is intended to “be a form of healing” after Martin’s death and the controversial court case that followed it. The ballad, which will be performed by the university’s official orchestra and jazz ensemble, is intended to be a tribute to victims of racial violence, Branker explained. He hopes that the performance will be “one that speaks to
WASHINGTON – A fourth straight month of solid hiring cut the U.S. unemployment rate to a five-year low of 7 percent in November, an encouraging sign for the economy. The Labor Department says employers added 203,000 jobs, nearly matching October´s revised gain of 200,000. The job gains helped lower the unemployment rate from 7.3 percent in October. The strengthening job market is likely to fuel speculation that the Federal Reserve may start to scale back its bond purchases when it meets later this month. The economy has now generated an average of 204,000 jobs from August through November. That´s up
