Time for a new Fox?
Daily Caller, by Mickey Kaus

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 1/22/2013 11:55:08 AM

Does Fox News now have an All-Amnesty lineup? Looks like it. Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly have now fallen in line behind World Citizen Rupert Murdoch’s support of ”sweeping, generous immigration reform,” including a “path to citizenship.” Karl Rove was always on board, of course. What about Fox News’ viewers? Are they going to go along like sheep? They now have no network that represents their perspective on what seems to be a key issue for Obama’s second term. Is it time for a new Fox? (Wouldn’t it be time for a new Fox anyway?

Comments:
And just who would start this enterprise?? Fox hasn´t gone completely to the dark side, but they are well on their way. Still, they are better than any other cable news channel out there.

The whole discussion about immigration reform is stupid. The time is rapidly approaching when immigrants simply won´t want to come to the U.S. because things won´t be any better than they are where they already live. No jobs, inferior health care, a slum to live in, who wants it?

Looks like I´m gonna say hello to Glenn Beck´s website. Yeah, I´ll have to pay for it but it´ll probably be worth it.

This is where Glenn Beck was supposed to go!!! The Tea Party rose up with amazing success which I believe to be, in part, to Beck´s support (along with Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann). When his show left the air... the air went out of the Tea Party as a movement.

I knew it was a mistake for him to leave that show and it may have cost us this election with the fracturing of the Tea Party and the scum of America desecrating it at every opportunity.

I pray God now intervenes to save our Republic as the Republicans have dismissed the Tea Party as radicals - there just doesn´t seem to be a viable movement left to combat the socialist who choking out the American way of life now... I´ll simply pray!

Indeed, we are simply "not viable" any longer. The socialist tide floats all boats. And networks. And pundits. Even Rush is left farting in the wind as his audience maxes out. While still a believer, I tune him out after an hour due to suicidal urges setting in. When all around you lose their heads, join in lest you want yours on a stick.

Our entire family and all our friends have turned FOX off for good. The only time I go to FOX is to see the first half of Bret Baier. If he´s followed by a panel that includes Juan Williams, Kirsten Powers, whatever her name is Stoddard, and the other RAT flamers, its tune out time.

Karl Rove has been a light for FOX and the thanks for what he brings is the dung now being dished at him with Ailes´/Murdock´s approval. There is nothing left to watch. We tuned out network years ago, I wouldn´t watch any other cable, listen to Rush daily, and my principle source is the web—I tune in FOX only for event stuff and then often miss it. Even Brit Hume has taken a dive and where he once was a voice to listen to, that´s long gone. Charles Krauthammer is carrying Fox and when they can him, which is likely ahead, that will put the last stone on the pile.

I´ve written to Fox, sent emails. Nothing. Time to tune out? You bet. It´s long overdue.

No matter what the clones on Fox say, there is no way that the Republicans can go along with the liberal Democrats and put all the illegal aliens on a "path to citizenship", if the Republicans did that, they would be committing long-term national suicide.

Nobody knows for sure how many illegal aliens are here now, the liberal media propaganda puts the figure at 11 millions but in reality it could be 20 million people. After being legalized under any sort of a liberal Democrat amnesty the legalized aliens would gain the right to bring their foreign relatives here in the years ahead. That could easily encompass 20 million more aliens in the next decade.

Most illegal aliens are poor low income earners who come from socialist oriented third world countries. Once legalized with US voting rights they would overwhelmingly vote for the liberal Democrats who would promise them all sorts of new rights, benefits and services in turn for their votes. With the liberal Democrats gaining tens of millions of new foreign born voters the Republicans would never again be able to win national elections.

Listen to Marco Rubio who wants to legalize long time illegal aliens by granting them a temporary immigration status without a "path to citizenship" until they individually meet the normal requirements that all legal immigrants must meet to quality for an immigrant visa under current law. The liberal Democrats will never go along with that and lose tens of million of new votes.

Fox an Friends First, is my wake up, feel good, day brighter. Where else can you get the news an look at some of the best legs in TV. (laughing). As far as the Latino problem goes, we need to get them into the GOP Party, if we have any chance of getting back the Presidency. Fox still is the best of the Cable News Outlets. The Libs get a little annoying but their views is a balance.

Now they have Dennis Kucinich on their team.

Not that I would notice, I haven´t watched FNC in months.

Hannity is an idiot who not only beats a dead horse, he beats its skeleton, then its dust. He is a one note tune, at best.
I came from a very similar backgroud to O´Reilly on Long Island and grew up around the same time. He is a nasty piece of work, as nasty as the Irish can be. I cannot stand him.

Beck was ok, but he did not bring the humor of his radio program to the fox tv stage and lost his audience there.

If any panel has Bill Kristol as the voice of the republicans/conservatives on it, I change the channel.

Face it. With nearly 1/2 the electorate getting money from the feds, the US is lost. No media outlet, no talking heads, nothing can turn that fact around. Vote buying with our own tax dollars (and future tax dollars) has proven to be hugely successful. The dems don´t really need the illegals. They are just window dressing.

I was surfing "TWIT" via my Roku and ran across Leo Laporte´s NMX 2013 Keynote (TWIT Live Specials #148). Leo points out that the new media should quit the push for "eyeballs", which is the game of broadcast and cable mass media. Instead, new media should concentrate on delivering a passionate message to a dedicated "community". More of what a micro-brewery is to Anheuser-Busch.

I thought of FNC as he made his point, and concluded that a similar approach is needed for political media. I´ve always been skeptical about FNC´s "fair and balanced" approach, as it plays the game of seeking eyeballs, rather than addressing a dedicated community of conservative listeners. That skepticism has, unfortunately, been justified.

The Blaze (GBTV) is a start, but resources like Blaze, PJTV, CainTV, InfoWars, and others need to coalesce into a conservative web-network. It needs to avoid some of the mistakes of the old "America´s Voice" and become more polished like FNC. As Laporte points out, it is much cheaper to produce a webcast than a cable-cast or broadcast. Make it available on the new streaming TVs and boxes. Include advertising to keep subscriber cost low - follow the Hulu model.

It can be done. It´s time.

"Forward."

Rhetorical question time (I see that there are still some amnesty fans who post here). When the 10-20 million are given either green cards or full citizenship they become eligible for SS and Medicare plus a bunch of other programs. These programs are regressive only if you have to pay in at a high salary your whole working life - but highly progressive if you work fewer years, and or at a low salary.

That is, amnesty will cost the taxpayers a trillion or so dollars in new SS, Medicare obligations alone.

Again, who should pay for this?

Inch by inch Fox is losing conservative viewers. - I do enjoy The Five - they laugh as well address all manner of issues, and putting Beckel back in his box when needed. Greta´s show is worth watching until she dives into the legal pie filling - she goes into the halls of Congress and isn´t afraid to make them give an account of their wobbliness. #24 ´s idea has merit, otherwise TV media is a wilderness.Thank goodness for the internet, and Miss Lucianne´s forum.

I watch much less of Fox than I used to because I can´t stand the liberal pundits. The "fair and balanced" thing is a con because it should be called "truth and lies". Lies should never be given equal time, even if they are dispelled in the course of the conversation. There is always some loony that will believe them.

The final straw was the addition of Kucinich to the FOX line-up. THAT addition both confirmed & sealed the deal! ...FNC has come undone, just as did CNN before when its journalistic integrity became compromized & mired in the radical statist dems´ agenda. mmm mmm mmm

These days, radio and the web is where, with discernment, reality still can be found. That reality isn´t a pretty picture as the lefties are but pulling America´s Constitution and Bill of Rights out from under Life, Liberty AND The Pursuit of Happiness. It is like watching a train wreck in slow motion.

Then again, almost no one ever does what´s right anymore. Why expect Fox to be any different.

The State Department on Thursday dismissed accusations that it had retaliated against one of the key witnesses at this week’s Benghazi hearings by demoting him after he questioned the Obama administration’s account of the terrorist attack. Foreign Service officer Gregory N. U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry was looking to strengthen ties with Russia as he tries to put an end to the dictatorial regime of Bashar al-Assad in Syria, but instead he was met with the coldest of receptions. Russian President Vladimir Putin kept Kerry waiting three hours before their meeting at the Kremlin on Tuesday and continuously fiddled with his pen as the top American diplomat spoke about the ongoing crisis in Syria. Kerry’s visit to Moscow comes as he seeks Russian help in ending Syria´s civil, telling President Putin that common interest in a stable Middle East

Republican lawmakers, who have spent months seeking to tie President Obama to last year’s deadly attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, are increasingly focusing their probe on a new target: former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton. The GOP-led investigation of the Sept. 11, 2012, assaults that killed U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three others now centers heavily on the State Department and whether officials there deliberately misled the public about the nature of the assault. Three State Department officials are scheduled to testify before a House committee on Wednesday about the Benghazi attack and its aftermath.

The White House on Wednesday stood by its story that the Obama administration remained unsure exactly who was responsible for the attack on the U.S. diplomatic post in Benghazi nearly five days after it occurred even though new revelations show Ansar al-Sharia’s direct involvement. Gregory Hicks, the deputy chief of mission at the U.S. Embassy in Libya and a self-described whistleblower, testified before a Congressional committee Wednesday that the body of Ambassador J. Christpher Stevens was missing for hours during the attack after being dragged out of the diplomatic post in Benghazi.

Former Gov. Mark Sanford completed the trail to political redemption Tuesday with a win over Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch to reclaim his old seat in Congress. Sanford defeated Colbert Busch 54 percent to 45 percent, according to full unofficial results. Turnout was heavier than expected, with about 32 percent of the district’s 455,702 registered voters casting ballots. Sanford, who has never lost an election, returns to the 1st District seat he held for three terms from 1995-2001. It’s a remarkable comeback for a man many pundits had written off after his highly publicized affair with an Argentine

Top ABC News editor Don Ennis walked into his Manhattan office on Friday in a “little black dress” and a brunette bobbed wig and announced to colleagues that from now on, he would like to be known as Dawn. The 49-year-old father of three said he’s splitting from his wife of 17 years to become a woman, or Dawn Stacey Ennis, as she is now known on her governmental records. “Today I begin anew,” she wrote on her Facebook timeline, where she debuted a flirty new profile picture. “Please understand: This is not a game of

Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD), ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, tells Benghazi witnesses that "death is a part of life." CUMMINGS: And, as I listen to your testimony I could not help but think of something that I said very recently -- two years ago now -- in a eulogy for a relative. I said that death is a part of life, so often we have to find a way to make life a part of death. And, I guess the reason why I´m saying that, going back to something Mr. Nordstrom said, he wanted,

There was tragic incompetence, plainly, in the Obama administration’s handling of the Benghazi attacks, and even possibly some political calculation. It is a record that may well come to haunt Hillary Clinton, the first Secretary of State to lose an ambassador in the field in more than three decades, if she runs for president in 2016. But the obvious Republican effort to turn this inquiry into the Democratic (Obama) version of the Iraq intelligence scandal that has tarred the GOP since the George W. Bush years -- led by that least-credible of champions, the almost-always-wrong Darrell Issa --

Northwestern University continued to stumble over diversity issues this week as Mexican students voiced disagreement with a campuswide letter that advised students not to celebrate Cinco de Mayo by engaging in racially-offensive activities, such as eating tacos and drinking tequila. The letter was sent to students via e-mail, and published in The Daily Northwestern last week. Leaders of Alianza, a Latino student group, and the Associated Student Government called on students to remember that Cinco de Mayo commemorates Mexico’s victory over France in the Battle of Puebla. It is not a day to throw a sombrero-themed party, they said.

British physicist Stephen Hawking has dropped plans to attend a major international conference in Israel in June, citing his belief that he should respect a Palestinian call to boycott contacts with Israeli academics. The University of Cambridge released a statement Wednesday indicating that Hawking had told the Israelis last week that he would not be attending "based on advice from Palestinian academics that he should respect the boycott." University officials said they had "previously understood" that Hawking´s decision was based solely on health concerns — he is 71 and has severe disabilities — but had now been told otherwise by Hawking´s office.

“We´ve had a tough go of it this last year,” Cumulus CEO Lew Dickey said Tuesday morning. “The facts are indisputable regarding the impact certain things have had on ad dollars." Dickey told analysts on the earnings call that his radio empire’s revenue was down $5.6 million in the first quarter of 2013 on top of a boatload of debt. Why? Parse the weasel words (“the impact of certain things”) and you’ll see that Dickey is blaming one man for the precipitous decline of right-wing talk radio’s profitability: Rush Limbaugh. El Rushbo is still a giant in the industry,

Ahead of the Benghazi hearings in which three witnesses are set to testify before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade invited Fox News analyst Lt. Col. Ralph Peters to discuss the issue. Peters was unflinching in his criticism of the “cowardly” Obama administration — and the “establishment media” that aids it. “Is this a national security coverup?” Kilmeade asking, explaining that the witness testimony is expected to say the administration was deceitful in its handling of the situation. “The administration, facing the election, went into panic mode, wanted to contain it,”

Fans of Glenn Beck are complaining about what I wrote yesterday about his speech at the National Rifle Association convention, where he used a giant image of Michael Bloomberg photoshopped into what appeared to be an image of Hitler with his arm raised in a Nazi salute and wearing an armband. The Beck crowd now tells me that it wasn’t Hitler’s picture into which the New York mayor was transposed but that of Communist leader Vladimir Lenin. They say that means I owe Beck an apology along with the Anti-Defamation League and others who were also outraged by it.
