Jill Kelley Says Paula Broadwell
Tried to ‘Blackmail’ Her

Daily Beast, by Howard Kurtz

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 1/22/2013 5:03:59 AM

Jill Kelley was not the first to see the anonymous email that would rupture her comfortable life as a wealthy Tampa socialite who forged friendships with two top American generals. She learned of the mysterious message from her husband, Scott, who opened the note on his iPhone, under the Yahoo account they share, as he was about to board a plane. Kelley says she was “terrified” late last summer when he told her about the email. In that note and the barrage that followed, “there was blackmail, extortion, threats,” Kelley told me in her first interview

An expired 15 minutes was my first thought too.

Who suffered from this sorry mess?

One General is still in his command. To be fair he apparently did nothing wrong.

Petraeus is comfortably retired and IMO better off. Or he would still be serving Obama in the marble toilet bowl, Washington, D.C.

I think his wife still has the $200k no-show job that Obama gave her.

Broadwell seems to have escaped any consequences. Didn´t her husband stay with her?

So Kelley got the worst press and was kicked off the base. No more honorary titles or open doors at the WH. And she wasn´t able to sell influence for $80m either. Life is tough.

She even seems to have lost control of her photographic image, ... .

Speaking of those "photographic images", the absolutely best description of the photos of Kelley and her sister that I read was from someone on the L.com staff.

The humorous "open kimono twins" perfectly described my impression of them from their choice of clothing and sultry poses in many of the photos of them.

Kelley is right about media types. However, the "ripeness" of the image was already there for the picking in photos of them from both public and private events.

Within a year, nine out of 10 Americans could be dead. And whatever causes the national apocalypse—be it North Korean malice or the whims of the sun—the downfall will ultimately be our own fault. That´s the fear of Newt Gingrich and other members of a high-profile coalition who are convinced that our fragile electrical grid could be wiped out at any moment. Their concern? Electromagnetic pulses, the short bursts of energy—caused by anything from a nuclear blast to a solar flare—that can wreak havoc on electrical systems on a massive scale. And the coalition believes it´s coming soon. "I think we´re running out

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough interviewed Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer, asking him about the charge by Majority Leader Harry Reid that the conservative philanthropist David Koch is “un-American.” Scarborough asked Schumer whether he associated himself with Reid’s statement. Senator Schumer began his answer by ducking and weaving, shifting attention from Reid’s claim to Schumer’s disagreement with the Kochs’ preferred policies. “But, senator, can’t we have a disagreement about how charity is funded without calling somebody un-American?” Scarborough countered. He continued to press Schumer to answer his question. “Do you think David Koch is un-American?” Schumer finally said, “The commercials he runs are not part of

In an interview with with CBS News anchor Scott Pelley in Rome today, President Obama called on Russian President Vladimir Putin "to move back those troops" from the Ukrainian border and engage in negotiations with the Ukrainian government. Putin hasn´t formally responded, but I´m sure it will be something to the effect of "yeah, you and what army?" After all, Obama has already ruled out a "military excursion" where it concerns Crimea. If Obama is unwilling to use force to back up his words, then they will have no meaning to Putin nor to anyone else be they friend or

David Cameron says that Russia’s annexation of Crimea ‘will not be recognised’. Ukraine’s Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk promises that ‘we will take our territory back’. They are both misguided. Let Crimea go: it will be the making of Ukraine and the end of Vladimir Putin. Without Crimea, there will never again be a pro-Moscow government in Kiev. Ukraine will have a chance to become a governable country — a strongly pro-European one with a Russian minority of around 15 per cent. Putin will have gained Crimea but lost Ukraine for ever. And without Ukraine, as former US national security adviser

A long time ago on a film set far, far away, two directors made a friendly bet about a small space-fantasy film called Star Wars. Steven Spielberg would go on to win the bet and take millions of dollars from George Lucas over time. Here’s how the out-of-this-world wager came to be. The Troubles of The Star Wars In the mid-1970s, science-fiction films weren’t very popular. 1968’s 2001: A Space Odyssey led the way for the genre but made just $56 million at the box office. So when a young director named George Lucas was trying to sell a script called The Star Wars,

With his disapproval ratings at record highs, his health law flailing, President Obama decided 2014 would be the year for a new agenda. "Inequality has deepened," he warned in the State of the Union. "Upward mobility has stalled." He laid out a roster of populist proposals: more unemployment insurance, raising the federal minimum wage, giving women "equal pay for equal work." The White House and congressional Democrats have since spent every waking minute holding rallies, issuing reports, tweeting and giving interviews on all those issues. The political calculus is that vulnerable Republicans can be bludgeoned into joining Democrats to support poll-tested

This comes despite falling methane emission levels across the economy since 1990. The White House has proposed cutting methane emissions from the dairy industry by 25 percent by 2020. Although U.S. agriculture only accounts for about 9 percent of the country’s greenhouse gas emissions, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, it makes up a sizeable portion of methane emissions — which is a very potent greenhouse gas. When Jorge Mario Bergoglio became Pope Francis a little more than a year ago, the first thing that struck those who knew him well was his unexpected, beatific smile. “In Argentina, he didn’t smile like that,” Sergio Rubin, the pope’s biographer, said this week at a conference sponsored by the Ethics and Public Policy Center. “That was the big surprise.” Since then, the pope has mostly kept on smiling — in homilies, in audiences, in meetings with the homeless and the poor.
