Well, the Good News Is, Obama’s
Honeymoon is Already Over

PJ Media, by Bryan Preston

President Barack H. Obama took the oath office and delivered a forgettable, partisan address to the nation. He offered no solutions to the nation’s pressing debt problem, because he does not have one. Instead, he offered an MC Hammer take on entitlement spending: You can’t touch this. The commitments we make to each other – through Medicare, and Medicaid, and Social Security – these things do not sap our initiative; they strengthen us. They do not make us a nation of takers; they free us to take the risks that make this country great.

FTA: He is not a king, and our system that his spokesman derides was engineered precisely to slow down and frustrate men just like him.

And just how is this system going to slow him down when all he does is go around it?

Newsflash: He got elected again.

Seriously. There is no good news. the majority of "American´s" live in perpetual fantasy land and continue to enjoy a limitless honeymood at the expense of the rest of us.

I mean, fer cripes stakes, people. This isn´t gonna turn around. What are we suppose to look forward to? We thought people couldnt POSSIBLY be stupid enough to vote for this man again.....ya right.

Please don´t pee on me and tell me it´s raining PJ.

The environmental left is seeing Democrats the Keystone XL pipeline, and raising them natural-gas exports. The question of who folds on this issue will play big in this midterm election year. A split is growing in the Democratic Party, one that ought to rival the divisions on the right that the headlines trumpet. Greens are increasingly bitter about President Obama —annoyed that he´s dropped climate legislation, scaled back green subsidies, ignored fracking. They´ve channeled their frustration into the fight against Keystone, warning that they´ll turn their significant money and resources against Mr. Obama´s party if the president approves more "dirty oil."

For all of the nonchalant assurances that he is neither a “dictator” nor an “emperor,” Barack Obama is certainly trigger-happy with the power jokes. The president’s latest witticism was inspired by his much-debated appearance on Between Two Ferns, during which he traded carefully scripted barbs with actor Zach Galifianakis. “Zach actually was pretty nervous,” Obama explained to Ryan Seacrest in a postmortem interview. “His whole character is to go after the guest, and I think he was looking around and seeing all these Secret Service guys with guns and thinking, I wonder what happens here if I cross the line? Eighteen months ago former Clinton Secretary of State Madeline Albright attacked Governor Romney’s warning that Russia is America’s number one geopolitical foe: “He is not up to date and that is a very dangerous aspect; that’s just an example of his 20th century approach to 21t century issues.” The idea: conflict with Russia was a relic of the cold war and that since the now infamous “reset,” identifying them as a threat and a problem was naive and silly. A Presidential candidate who looks back, rather than forward, was out of touch and dangerous. Today on MSNBC’s Morning Joe show,

Another senior minister in Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s cabinet sharply criticized American foreign policy Tuesday, anonymously joining the open attack by Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon. Speaking to journalists in the Knesset, the minister said the Americans’ handling of the crisis in Ukraine proved that Israel could no longer rely on the United States. He said it was clear to everyone that the US had never intended to take military action against the Russians. “The lesson of this crisis screams to the sky,” the minister said. “US foreign policy is collapsing all over the world. Let me go out on a limb: The Malaysian airliner did not get sucked into a black hole, vanish over the Indian Ocean equivalent of the Bermuda Triangle or crash-land on the spooky island from “Lost.” Those “theories” were actually discussed on CNN this week. Host Don Lemon dismissed them as “preposterous” before asking one of his assembled “expert” guests — there were six of them waiting expectantly in their boxes on the screen — whether, you know, such ideas really were so preposterous. At which point the nonstop coverage of this tragedy entered the Twilight Zone. The disappearance of Malaysia Airlines

Liberals are expressing outrage today about the court ruling that a federal agency is required to help Kansas and Arizona ensure that those registering to vote are citizens. The case decided in a U.S. district court in Wichita revolved around the U.S. Election Assistance Commission’s decision to deny the requests from the two states that proof of citizenship be added to a national voter registration form when distributed in Kansas and Arizona. Judge Eric F. Melgren rightly ruled that the agency had no authority to tell the states their requests were invalid. He noted that the decision by the election

On February 27, in response to this setback, President Vladimir Putin sent forces into Crimea to seize it from Ukraine. On March 19, President Barack Obama delivered his response. He reassured Putin, “We are not going to be getting into a military excursion in Ukraine.” Obama added, “What we are going to do is mobilize all of our diplomatic resources to make sure that we’ve got a strong international coalition that sends a clear message.” The message is clear. Democrats are hoping that growing support for medical and recreational marijuana can spur party turnout in this year´s midterms, especially in getting young voters to the polls. But despite early optimism that such efforts could be an easy fix to their turnout problems, upon closer review, there´s only a loose connection between the two. Voters in at least six states are expected to vote on marijuana initiatives in 2014. The deadlines for most ballot initiatives aren´t until the summer in many places, but signature-gathering requirements are generally cumbersome enough that others are unlikely to join at this stage. Health-insurance executives are starting to warn of double- and even triple-digit premium hikes for health plans sold on the ObamaCare exchanges for 2015. But Health Secretary Kathleen Sebelius told Congress last week that any ObamaCare premium hikes would be modest. In fact, the Obama administration is scrambling to rewrite the law to make that happen. After close of business Friday, the administration proposed greater bailout protection for insurers who sell exchange plans. The new rule sweetens what the Affordable Care Act provided (at taxpayer expense, of course) to protect the companies from losses. It’s illegal, because no president has the

ARTEMIVSK, Ukraine -- The disheveled men barricading the muddy lane leading into a military facility in this eastern Ukraine town say they are making a stand to defend the region´s Russian-speaking majority. In the nearby city of Donetsk, gangs of pro-Russian activists and Cossacks armed with sticks and bats have been storming one local government office after another, only to leave a short while later. It looks a lot like Crimea. But despite feeling or speaking Russian, many in these eastern regions still adhere strongly to their Ukrainian identity, so things could play out far differently.

For anyone who has observed Barack Obama over the years, it’s obvious that a fundamental part of his self-identity involves seeing himself, and having others see him, as pragmatic rather than ideological, reality-based, driven by reason instead of bias. This has never actually been true. Mr. Obama is, in fact, unusually dogmatic, blind to counter-evidence, and mostly unable to adjust his views to the way things are. So when his worldview collides with reality, he often can’t adjust. He instead creates his own make believe world. We’ve seen it time and time again with the Affordable Care Act. I thought surely the fake Indian’s book would have some old-fashioned Indian War-type title. It is, after all, a tome, or should I say, “tome-a-hawk.” “Drums Along the Mystic.” “The Last of the Faux-hicans.” “Forked Tongue: The Elizabeth Warren Story.” “A Tale of Two Teepees.” “Dances with Moonbats.” Instead she calls it, “A Fighting Chance,” a title that seems Eurocentric for the first female Indian in the U.S. Senate, or maybe she no longer is an Indian, because

Mrs. Obama is supposed to use her visit for soft diplomacy only, and shy from the more controversial topics that plague U.S.-China relations, namely human rights and economics. Patrick has said clearly that he intends to return to the private sector when his second term as governor is up at the end of the year and will not run for president in 2016. Health industry officials say ObamaCare-related premiums will double in some parts of the country, countering claims recently made by the administration. The expected rate hikes will be announced in the coming months amid an intense election year, when control of the Senate is up for grabs. The sticker shock would likely bolster the GOP’s prospects in November and hamper ObamaCare insurance enrollment efforts in 2015. The industry complaints come less than a week after Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius sought to downplay concerns about rising premiums in the healthcare sector. She told lawmakers rates would increase in 2015 but
