Charles Krauthammer: Obama
Just Declared That The Era Of
‘Big Government Is Back’
And ‘Reaganism’ Is Dead

Mediaite, by Andrew Kirell

Original Article

Following President Obama’s second inaugural address, Fox News analyst Charles Krauthammer called the speech an “amazing” one which rebuked the limited government beliefs of the Reagan era and served as the president’s “ode to big government.” “I thought it was an amazing speech, and historically very important,” Krauthammer began. “This this was really Obama unbound. And I think what’s most interesting is that Obama basically is declaring the end of Reaganism in this speech.” During his 1981 inaugural speech, President Ronald Reagan famously declared that government is not the solution to our problems; government is the problem. “

Sometimes Krauthammer gets it right. This is one of them.

After reading the text of the speech earlier, I can agree with Charles´ analysis. Listening is one thing, but reading the text is fairly illuminating and revealing.

I Must repeat!!!

Crappy days are here to stay
Obama has not gone away
The parasites have won the day
Crappy days are here again

Socialism’s on the rise
Though built upon a pack of lies
It’s Communism in disguise
Crappy days are here again

Crappy days are here again
Let’s double down on debt again
We’ll spend that gold at rainbow’s end
Crappy days are here again

Crappy days are here again
You may find a job by decades end
If not we’ll just have to pretend
Crappy days are here again

Altogether shout it now
There’s no one
Who can doubt it now
We’ve sold our soul to China now
Crappy days are here again.

Cares and troubles here to stay
And they’ll grow from day to day
But be of cheer the “rich” will pay
Crappy days are here again

I read the transcript of the speech before reading any analysis. I think Charles is spot on. The line that caught my attention was about half way through. "For we, the people, understand that our country cannot succeed when a shrinking few do very well and a growing many barely make it." This is precisely what this country will be after another 4 years of Obama. The middle class is collapsing leaving only the wealthy (with connections) and the masses. Just like all the other socialist states.

A Republican Senate hopeful in Virginia has turned the tables on his Democratic competition, claiming that his political foe is waging a war on women — by supporting abortion. Shak Hill, who’s running for the U.S. Senate seat for Virginia, blasted his incumbent Democratic counterpart, Mark Warner, for waging a “war on girls” by easing the path for late-term abortion, in a statement and accompanying YouTube video put out by the company Political Media. “Mark Warner is waging a war on girls, and it’s killing them,” Mr. Hill said in the statement. “Warner claims he personally opposes abortion, yet he

The Democratic party has long prided itself on being the party of workers. But an extraordinary thing happened the last few weeks in the debate over Obamacare. When the Congressional Budget Office said the law would reduce the number of full-time-equivalent workers by 2.5 million by 2024, Democrats considered it not a bug but a feature. The law was liberating people from the constraints of working. This tack suggests an opening for Republicans. As the party struggles to forge a new, more appealing identity, it should endeavor to become the party of work. During Andrew Jackson’s presidency, Alexis de Tocqueville noted

When the Affordable Care Act launched in October, enrollment figures were hard to come by. The consensus was, however, that due to the problems associated with the non-functioning federal insurance exchange portal, enrollments would be low. In November, the first figures were released and they were, as expected, dismally short of their targets. But beyond the total number of enrollees, policy wonks became fixated on the number of younger enrollees. The White House needed those ostensibly healthier young people to sign up in large numbers in order to stabilize the risk pool. The White House estimated that 38 percent of

Campaigners say the politician, the key challenger to Malaysia’s ruling party, was the victim of a long-running smear campaign and had faced trumped-up charges. By now it’s settled on most people, including Democrats, that the loss of Alex Sink to David Jolly in Florida’s 13th Congressional District was, in the words of the New York Times, “devastating” to Democrats. It’s a district Ms. Sink carried in her unsuccessful race for governor against Rick Scott, a district that Barack Obama carried in his two elections, and a district that demographically now favors Democrats. In addition, Ms. Sink raised more money and ran a better campaign than Jolly. Even Bill Clinton lent his efforts to her campaign. And yet she lost. What should particularly alarm Democrats is
