Obama: ´We Will Respond to the Threat of Climate Change´

| Barack Obama made clear in his Second Inaugural Address that responding to "climate change" will be a priority in the president´s second term. "We, the people, still believe that our obligations as Americans are not just to ourselves, but to all posterity," Obama declared. "We will respond to the threat of climate change, knowing that the failure to do so would betray our children and future generations. Some may still deny the overwhelming judgment of science, but none can avoid the devastating impact of raging fires, and crippling drought, and more powerful storms."

Comments: That was one of the most divisive, disgraceful speeches I have ever heard from a U.S. president.

Obama´s right, we do need a change in climate, the climate of class, race, gender and political hatred that Obama has emitted over our country.
As to "overwhelming judgment of science", there is none. If there was evidence of progress causing the climate to change, Obama and his ilk would welcome open & honest discussions. Instead, like Al Bore, Obama doesn´t welcome a debate about another of his great lies.

Climate change??? Really? As ineffective as this bozo has been on a ´country´ scale, he thinks he´s ordained to save the planet now?
And - ´overwhelming judgment of science´ is flat out laughable at this point. Not a single ´prophecy of the Acolytes of Gore´ have come to pass. Not one. The planet has *not* warmed as that ´overwhelming science´ *absolutely* predicted. Global warming is to climate science what ´The Population Bomb´ was to census-psychosis...
Not that facts and Obama generally go hand in hand, but he´s screwed the country/economy up quite enough - thank you - without putting fairy-tale taxes in the mix.
I mean, this is a guy who can´t even get the science of ´youth body count from gunfire´ down to a skill-set - and he´s from the city that wrote that particular book...

I wonder if the Soviets have any of those extra warm, furry winter babushka hats with overhanging ear flaps for sale so our future generations of children can keep warm when all home heating has been banned for the purpose of saving the environment....

I used to wonder how exactly ancient people went from concern about weather to human sacrifice, but you listen to the Democrats and you find out. "So there is bad weather, weep weep weep and see how sensitive i am, and i have a proposal of what to do about it, human sacrifice, rooted in reverence for our ancient traditions, and if you stand in our way then you must be in favor of famines."

And we can reduce our deficit, stabilize our debt, and do so without sacrificing the kinds of investments that are going to be required to grow. During his remarks, the president spoke of the

Religious liberty groups are mobilizing to defend the chaplain of George Washington University’s Newman Center after gay students launched an effort to have the priest fired because he preaches against homosexuality and abortion. “It’s discrimination against Catholics,” said Patrick Reilly, president of the Cardinal Newman Society. “Secular colleges are fast becoming a very unsafe place for Catholics who hold true to their faith. This is a very, very sad situation.” Two gay students at George Washington told the GW Hatchet student newspaper that they want Father Greg Shaffer removed from campus

One of the first political issues negotiators must tackle in crafting an immigration reform bill is among the most important: what to name it. It’s a decision that will bruise egos, create legacies and deeply affect subsequent messaging battles. “Every time the bill is mentioned in the press, you either have a brand that´s positive or a brand that doesn´t mean anything or even hurts you,” said Frank Sharry, the executive director of the pro-immigration reform group America’s Voice. The wrong name, he warned, could doom a good bill. “If there´s not a

President Obama is eager to build public support for his health care overhaul in the few months remaining before its implementation, but waning enthusiasm from Democrats threatens his effort right out of the gate. Two-thirds of Democrats now believe Obama´s health care reforms will either hurt them personally or have no effect on their daily lives, a Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday shows. In comparison, just 27 percent of Democratic respondents said the reforms would help them. The president has long struggled to convince independent and Republican-leaning voters that his health care blueprint would lower premiums and expand insurance coverage.
