DC lowers turnout
projections for inauguration

WASHINGTON -- District of Columbia officials have lowered their turnout estimate for Monday´s presidential inauguration. The district´s homeland security director, Chris Geldart, said Sunday that officials now expect between 500,000 and 700,000 people to attend. That´s fewer than the 600,000 to 800,000 people initially anticipated. The estimates are based in part on the number of charter buses arriving in the city, as well as the number of hotel and restaurant reservations.

The word "duh" comes to mind.

I just want to see photos of the trash and destruction after they all leave -- and photos of DC after the March For Life crowd leaves on the 25th. I´m guessing our tax dollars will be working overtime to clean up the mess after the obamabots hit the trail.

I suspect the March for Life will have a larger turnout, and leave a neater venue. I also expect the MSM will ignore, as they usually do.

The networks will blame the low turnout on the cold weather, or that today is a holiday, and people made holiday plans.
The newscasts today will likely substitute the crowd size shots from 2009.

When a lot of an elected president´s voters never existed (other than on false voter registrations and in graveyards, it is hard to have a high turnout.

I wonder if the press will report "hundreds showed up" (as in the coverage of conservative events) or "millions crowded in," as in coverage of you-know-who.

Meanwhile, I´m sick of the fawning comparisons of Obama to Lincoln. Far more telling, in my opinion, are comparisons to Taylor, Pierce and Buchanan.

Democrats are masters at puffing up numbers of imaginary supporters, like they did back on November Fools Day. If they are going to count tour busses why not also count incoming cars. They MUST be filled to capacity with worshippers just there to see their savior. Puff up those numbers and report them as facts on the news.

Sorry for the second post, but here is the rest of the TV lineup for today.

General Hospital – “Sorry, We’re Closed.” ObamaCare, you know. An hour of packing boxes and reminiscing about actually caring for patients.

Hawaii Five-O – “McGarrett’s First Failure” Governor, we can’t find the birth certificate of the illegal alien in the White House.

Mission Impossible – “Good Luck Jim” Phelps is assigned to force Harry Reid to draw up a sensible budget and force Sheila Jackson-Lee to have a coherent thought. Jim uses the “should you decide to accept it” clause and decline for obvious reasons.

Love American Style – “The Ewwww Triangle” An illegal alien, Reggie and Mooch. Sorry for the imagery.

ABC Family Movie – “The Wizard of Uhs” Barry speaks for two hours without a teleprompter.

The Odd Couple – “Mooch and Her New Hair, The Oddest Couple” No explanation necessary.

American Idle – “Barry’s Work Ethic” An hour of test patterns.

Mannix – “Missing Persons” Joe Mannix searches in vain for the Benghazi survivors.

Doogie Howser, M.D. – “The Blank Slate” Dr. Howser discusses phantom concussions relative to a lifetime of selective amnesia of illegal activity.

Russell Crowe stars in Darren Aronofsky´s Bible-based epic. Darren Aronofsky wrestles one of scripture´s most primal stories to the ground and extracts something vital and audacious, while also pushing some aggressive environmentalism, in Noah. Whereas for a century most Hollywood filmmakers have tread carefully and respectfully when tackling biblical topics in big-budget epics aimed at a mass audience, Aronofsky has been daring, digging deep to develop a bold interpretation of a tale which, in the original, offers a lot of room for speculation and invention. The narrative of the global flood that wiped out almost all earthly life is the original

Black students are more likely to be suspended from U.S. public schools — even as tiny preschoolers. The racial disparities in American education, from access to high-level classes and experienced teachers to discipline, were highlighted in a report released Friday by the Education Department´s civil rights arm. The suspensions — and disparities — begin at the earliest grades. Black children represent about 18 percent of children in preschool programs in schools, but they make up almost half of the preschoolers who are suspended more than once, the report said. Six percent of the nation´s districts with preschools reported suspending at

During her visit to China, first lady Michelle Obama pointed out that the ability to travel outside of the United States was "rare" but that she chose China for a reason. "It’s very rare that I have the opportunity to travel outside of the United States, and it’s even more rare to have the opportunity to travel with three generations — with my daughters, and with my mother," she said. "And it is no accident that one of our first trips as a family is here to China." Obama made her remarks while visiting a school in Beijing, with the Chinese first

President Obama took the opportunity to flatter House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi during a fundraiser Thursday for House Democrats at the Florida home of former NBA star Alonzo Mourning. Obama said the California Democrat "will go down in history as one of the greatest speakers in our history" and indicated that he was eager to return her to her former position as Speaker of the House. "She is as tough and principled and as visionary as any member of Congress that we´ve ever seen and I´m grateful to call her a friend," he added. The fundraiser — the first of six Obama has

In 2011, over 8,000 kids were suspended from preschool — preschool! — in America. More than half were black, despite comprising less than half of the student population. Sure, we can entertain a lot of theories why this is the case, but I am going to go with this one: America has a problem with racism. The odds are probably better than even that you will be annoyed by that. Which is fine. I accept that response. And there are a lot of possibilities that could explain how this bit of data is an aberration. As the Associated Press reports, the

Vice President Biden told healthcare workers that "patience and empathy" are required to deal with frustrated ObamaCare enrollees and that the president demonstrated saint-like levels of both during the rollout. Speaking to a conference of community health centers in New York, Biden conceded that enrolling in ObamaCare could be "tedious," and early problems with HealthCare.gov worsened the problem. "We didn´t help you much at the front end here, man," Biden said, adding that he wanted to recommend President Obama "for sainthood" because he maintained his patience through the early technical problems with the website. "The president and I were as frustrated as anyone

It was the eagerly awaited meeting of the world’s two most important first ladies. But there was a clear winner when Michelle Obama met her counterpart Peng Liyuan for the first time in Beijing. As photographs and television footage began to emerge of Mrs Peng and Mrs Obama touring the Chinese capital, the country’s online forums were quick to claim victory in the “battle of the First Ladies”. “Our First Lady is so graceful and elegant, leaving Michelle far behind,” said one critic. “We have won this time,” remarked another. “Ours is more refined and eye-catching,” said a third.
