Pastor Leads ´Forward´
Chant at Obama Pre-
Inauguration Church Service

Breitbart´s Big Government, by Ben Shapiro

Original Article

Posted By:Dreadnought, 1/20/2013 6:21:03 PM

Today, just before taking his official inauguration oath, President Obama attended church, receiving the accolades of the media for doing so. Obama, of course, has a rather checkered history with religion; his old pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, used to deliver fiery anti-American, anti-Israel diatribes from the pulpit. At Obama’s first inauguration, Rev. Joseph Lowery gave his invocation by listing racial slurs and implying that white people were responsible for the world’s ills. Now Obama’s newest pastor, Rev. Ronald Braxton, is joining their prestigious company.

No surprise here, just depressing having to deal with a man who thinks he´s a god and wants to get rid of our Constitution.

They had their own newspaper in NYC back in the 50s, the name of the paper was Forward.

Shapiro is way off here, ascribing his definition of "obstacles" to what Rev Braxton said, and by associating him with Rev. Wright, I guess because of their race. There is no question the AME Church leadership and most of its members supported Obama and were probably delighted he didn´t slight them this year as he did in 2009 by not holding the pre-inaugural Prayer Service at our "national cathedral", Metropolitan, AMEC. Clinton held both of his there in part because virtually all of his Black campaign advisors and senior Black appointees were AME´s. Bush 41 held an event there and Bush 43 gave a speech at it´s counterpart, First AMEC in Los Angeles.

I believe this is Zero´s first visit to Metropolitan, the home church to Washington´s Black elite starting with Vernon Jordan, and continuing to business leaders, former cabinet members and ambassadors, so I doubt Ronald is his pastor.

Sorry, I do not agree that Ben´s commentary is way off the mark. During the last four years, if we had not heard talk of Obama being some sort of "messiah," seen the artwork with a halo around his head, heard his followers refer to him as their "lord and savior," then maybe we could say Mr. Shapiro is reading too much into this event. Behind the pulpit of a Christian church, no matter WHAT the event, Jesus Christ is the only One to be held with such worshipful adoration.

It is not seemly for preachers to openly worship a man. The 0bamessiah has enough adoration from secular people.

#7, you´re correct that Ben said it...he ascribed Newsweek’s characterization of Obama to Braxton and gave his own interpretation of his remarks...it is a tribal thing so perhaps he just couldn´t translate the language spoken in this church since its founding in 1838, or understand why this was the venue Mandela chose when he first visited DC or why MLK, Jr. spoke there on many occasions.

Frederick Douglass was a member and his funeral was held there as were those of Blanche Kelso Bruce, born a slave but became the first African American to serve a full term in the U.S. Senate, and Mrs. Rosa Parks. William Taft was the first president to worship at Metropolitan.

There is a photo of the AME bishops “laying on the hands” and praying to God for Obama’s safety at the 2008 church convention in St Louis, twenty four hours before his plane had to make an emergency landing back in that same city. Praying to God, not Obama.

‘We need the iPhone of

Washington Post, by Michael S. Rosenwald    Original Article

One of California’s largest firearm stores recently added a peculiar new gun to its shelves. It requires an accessory: a black waterproof watch. The watch’s primary purpose is not to provide accurate time, though it does. The watch makes the gun think. Electronic chips inside the gun and the watch communicate with each other. If the watch is within close reach of the gun, a light on the grip turns green. Fire away. No watch means no green light. The gun becomes a paperweight. A dream of gun-control advocates for decades, the Armatix iP1 is the country’s first smart gun.

The Department of Homeland Security wants a private company to provide a national license-plate tracking system that would give the agency access to vast amounts of information from commercial and law enforcement tag readers, according to a government proposal that does not specify what privacy safeguards would be put in place. The national license-plate recognition database service, which would draw data from readers that scan the tag of every vehicle crossing their paths, would help catch fugitive illegal immigrants, according to a DHS solicitation. Deadly clashes between protesters and police in Kiev on Tuesday led to a fire-lit nighttime assault by Interior Ministry troops on the main protest encampment at Independence Square, in what may be a dramatic and irreversible turn in Ukraine’s months-long political crisis. After weeks of relative calm, trucks and tents burned, molotov cocktails smashed against police shields and banners illuminated by the flames whipped in the strong breeze. At least 20 people were reported killed in the latest flare-up of protests that began last fall after President Viktor Yanukovych rejected a trade deal with Europe and turned to Russia for

Washington Post, by Dina ElBoghdady    Original Article

The growing student loan burden carried by millions of Americans threatens to undermine the housing recovery’s momentum by discouraging, or even blocking, a generation of potential buyers from purchasing their first homes. Recent improvements in the housing market have been fueled largely by investors who snapped up homes in the past few years. But that demand is waning as prices climb and mortgage rates rise. An analysis by the Mortgage Bankers Association found that loan applications for home purchases have slipped nearly 20 percent in the past four months compared with the same period a year earlier.

After a tumultuous week of party infighting and leadership stumbles, congressional Republicans are focused on calming their divided ranks in the months ahead, mostly by touting proposals that have wide backing within the GOP and shelving any big-ticket legislation for the rest of the year. Comprehensive immigration reform, tax reform, tweaks to the federal health-care law — bipartisan deals on each are probably dead in the water for the rest of this Congress. “We don’t have 218 votes in the House for the big issues, so what else are we going to do?” said Rep. There´s a debate going on about Hillary Clinton´s past. If she runs for president in 2016, should Republicans reach back to the scandals of her years as First Lady? Or should they focus on more recent times, especially her tenure as Secretary of State, to build a case against her? The GOP doesn´t have to choose. Of course Clinton´s recent experiences are relevant to a presidential run. But so are her actions in the 90s, the 80s and even the 70s. It´s not ancient history; it reveals something about who Clinton was and still is. And re-examining her past is entirely consistent with practices in recent campaigns. In the 2012 presidential race,
