The hidden burden of regulation
Washington Times, by Editorial

Original Article

Posted By:Ribicon, 1/20/2013 1:42:56 PM

Americans cashing their first paychecks of the year are starting to feel the pain. Higher taxes in the “fiscal cliff” deal are just the beginning of the extra cash Uncle Sam will be collecting in 2013. The unprecedented expansion in regulation on President Obama’s watch means wallets are going to be much thinner by the end of the year. According to an analysis released on Monday by the American Action Forum, Mr. Obama in his first term added nearly half a trillion dollars to the cost of doing business. In 2012, the administration shattered all records by imposing $236 billion

Incredible figures. But our emperor is a good man, not at all doing this intentionally. Mmm.

Coffers should be starting to fill a little as we all know the ss increase goes to the general fund. My son is adding over 10 dollars a week to it and I know many are adding more than that.

When the Democrats, academia, news & entertainment media and Hollywood consistently make American business the enemy of the people, this regulatory burden is to be expected. Businesses operate only for "obscene profits", exploit the poor, build death traps, rape the environment and on weekends, club baby seals to death.

We just sat through a 6 month presidential campaign that demonized an incredibly successful and generous businessman as a killer, a heartless venture capitalist and tax cheat. It worked, and unfortunately, many of us won´t under Obama.

In addition to the excessive regulations cost, the Federal Reserve has weakened the dollar by a ton since 2009, with their quantitative easing.
But the president doesn´t understand that. He is the dumbest man in the room. Always.

Taxing the working American into oblivion is INVOLUNTARY SERVITUDE, aka, SLAVERY, and is illegal under our Constitution. But then, so is Barry. We just oppose both.

I must live in a different universe. I keep hearing all these stories about massive tax increases, massive increases in SS deductions. Well, maybe so for the high income folks.

Being retired, I don´t pay into SS so I can´t speak to it personally. My income tax deduction for 2013 increased $5.00.

Teachers here do not pay into SS, they have a different plan. So my daughter had no increase there, and she said her taxes went down.

Some folks swore, probably the gullible who believe all the crap in emails, that the Medicare Part B was going to jump massively high. Gee, mine only went up %5.00 also. So I get a $40.00 COLA and $10. more taken out and I net a $30 increase. Like I said, I must live in a different universe.

So what´s with the hubbbub?

Trenton — A new effort is underway in the state Legislature to allow unauthorized immigrants to legally drive in New Jersey, setting up what could be the next state debate over immigration policy. Under the measure, New Jersey would be required to issue photo “driving privilege” cards to residents who could not prove that they were in this country legally but were able to show they lived in the state. “It’s about public safety,” said state Sen. Joseph Vitale (D-Middlesex), a sponsor. “Some of the undocumented are driving anyway. This isn’t to excuse the fact that they’re undocumented. But they’re on

California loves Tesla Motors. The Palo Alto electric car maker´s Model S sedan is the state´s new eco-luxury status symbol. Californians bought more than a third of Teslas sold globally last year. Mahon is one of 45 retired school superintendents earning big salaries on top of their pensions, according to a New Jersey Watchdog investigation into a costly loophole in the state pension system. The Boston public school system, as it prepared to make condoms available to students at all its high schools last fall, received what seemed like the perfect donation from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health: 40,000 free condoms. But now the system is pulling the donated contraceptives from its schools after some parents raised questions about whether the messages and images on the wrappers are appropriate for teenagers, even as they voiced support for the condom-distribution policy. The wrappers featured such messages as “One lucky lady,” “hump one,” and “tasty one,” which was accompanied by picture of a shark preying

When Werner Segarra first arrived in Mexico as part of an Arizona high school student exchange program in 1981 he had no idea the unchanging life of ranchers would turn into a 15-year photographic project. As the student got to meet the Vaqueros - Mexican cowboys - he became enamored with the honest, hard-working families where boys younger than him could already run the ranch. Over the years, the Arizona-based photographer has returned repeatedly to the small community of 1,000 residents, to document a way of life largely unchanged for generations. ´I have cultivated an intimate relationship with the town

The state’s highest court says “upskirting,” the practice of secretly photographing under a woman’s skirt, is not prohibited by state law. The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court said today that the state law intended to prohibit “Peeping Tom” voyeurism of completely or partially undressed people did not apply to people who take pictures of people who are fully clothed. The ruling came in the case of a man who was charged with taking a photo under the dress of an undercover MBTA Transit Police officer on a trolley between the Park Street and Government Center stations.

What’s been said of confession — that it is good for one’s soul but bad for one’s reputation — can also be true of testifying to Congress, so Lois Lerner has chosen to stay silent. Hers, however, is an eloquent silence. The most intrusive and potentially most punitive federal agency has been politicized; the IRS has become an appendage of Barack Obama’s party. Furthermore, congruent with exhortations from some congressional Democrats, it is intensifying its efforts to suffocate groups critical of progressives, by delaying what once was the swift, routine granting of tax-exempt status. One of the most seismic changes in American politics over the last decade has been the emergence of a sharp generational split among the electorate. The Democratic Party owes its success in the last two presidential elections almost entirely to overwhelming support among the very young, which has overcome continued conservatism among older voters. The Pew Research Institute has dominated the field of exploring the ideological cleavages among different generations. And its latest survey shows again how the liberalism of the youngest voting cohort, millennials, remains firm, and likely to continue to recast the electorate. A few charts from the survey

Barack Obama´s parents were "married in name only," according to David Maraniss´s 2012 Barack Obama: The Story. But since definitions of an "in name only" marriage vary, such as "a marriage of convenience" or "a sexless marriage," and Maraniss failed to explain his claim, it is unclear what he was implying. The most dangerous parts of a flight are takeoff and landing. Rarely do incidents happen when a plane is cruising seven miles above the earth. So the disappearance of a Malaysia Airlines jet well into its flight Saturday morning over the South China Sea has led aviation experts to assume that whatever happened was quick and left the pilots no time to place a distress call.
