| By some of the most important measures of social progress, black and Latino residents of Colorado have lost ground compared with white residents in the decades since the civil-rights movement. Minority gains made during the 1960s and 1970s have eroded with time, an I-News Network analysis of six decades of demographic data from the U.S. Census Bureau found. In other categories, the gaps between whites and minorities have steadily widened since 1960.

May I say it? Minorities are losing ground and it´s their OWN fault. There, fixed it.

The article is not long. A few highlights:
At the same time, many thousands of Colorado’s good-paying, blue-collar manufacturing jobs have disappeared, hurting minority families disproportionately.
“CF&I Steel (in Pueblo) once had 13,000 employees,” said former state Sen. Abel Tapia of Pueblo. “That used to be a path toward middle-class prosperity.”
and
The percentage of single-parent families and the number of births to single mothers has soared among black households, exacerbating the gaps, and immigration and teenage births in the Latino population have also led to widening disparities, experts said.
When will they understand that the policies of Obama and the Democrats are wrong. They must also do something about the number of births to single mothers. The flood of Latino illegal immigrants has provided far too much unskilled labor for the economy to support and too many births to teenaged mothers.
Colorado will end up a welfare state.

Blacks have been suckered by the Plantation Party. Rather than risk life as a free man or woman, they settled for a government check. They have become captives of their new master, mother government, and have been kept in bondage, isolated in their crime ridden ghettos, by a steady succession of poverty pimps: LBJ, Jesse Jackson, Lou Farakhan, Al Sharpton, Suge Knight, Jay Z, Malik Zulu Shabazz. Your brothers and sisters have held you back. They´ve ratted you out the moment any of you stepped off of that plantation and dared to live your own life rather than to be defined, if not owned, by your keepers in Washington DC and their minions working your neighborhood block.

LBJ´s Great Society wasn´t such a great idea. We now are into the 4th generation of single welfare mothers and millions of children who grew up with no father in the home. Most of these people wouldn´t know how to work if you gave them a job.

1. They´re not my kids. I didn´t say you could plunder my pocket to pay for raising them.
2. I´d actually like to see White Suppression of minorities come to an end. All those interminable meetings! How to oppress blacks, how to oppress Mexicans, how to do it all under the radar so nothing can be proved. Hey, I did my share, but I have things I want to do for myself now, y´know? All this oppressing and all those meetings -- how will I ever have time to catalog my CDs and DVD? Finish collecting and printing articles on stellar fusion processes and types of supernovas? Building a scale model of the house Frank Lloyd Wright drew up for Ayn Rand [that never got built, which is why I´m doing the model]?
Ah´m tarred!

For some reason, DH always checks the births column in the paper to see how many new parents are married, how many list a couple but not married and how many just list a female. This week there was 11 births, two were married, one was by herself, so 8 were couples but not married. IOW, 9 this week that Uncle Sugar (that´s you and me) will be taking care of for the rest of their lives.

They´ve been losing ground since they sold themselves into slavery on the Democrat plantation. If leftists hadn´t taken over the schools, they might have learned that the racists were always the Democrats.

Wait until all those white oppressors in the BB generation retire and their income tax declines and SS & Medicare taxes end. I´m sure all those illegals, single parent black offspring, and the rest of the gimme crowd will pick up the slack. If not, the dims will have to come up with another cash for clunkers scheme, only this time handouts will be given for abortions and inner city murders.

"There once was a place called America," our children´s children will one day write, "a bright and shining city on a hill, divinely placed by God to serve as a beacon of hope to the entire world. A land filled with generous-hearted souls who showered the needy the world over with their abundant blessings." You see, America was founded by a handful of God-fearing patriots who didn´t always agree but believed certain things like life, liberty and the personal pursuit of happiness were worth dying for.

The Santa Fe New Mexican reports the city released this week to a city finance committee a list of people who got IOUs when they surrendered their guns at police headquarters after the city´s gun buyers ran out of pre-paid Visa gift cards. Among the names released were Brian Egolf, a Santa Fe lawyer and Democratic state legislator, who surrendered a Russian-made assault rifle and two handguns.

Nearly 1,000 acres of Bureau of Land Management acreage adjacent to Molas Lake Park that has been used as a snowmobile playground for decades may soon be off limits to all motorized use. Jeffrey Christenson, outdoor recreation planner for the BLM Tres Rios field office in Dolores, said the area in question is the West Needles Contiguous Wilderness Study Area. New guidelines for management of such areas were released in July last year. Christenson said Tuesday that those rules basically prohibit snowmobile traffic and require the BLM to manage the area as if it were actually a designated wilderness Headline corrected and content added by staff.

Pro golfers, golf writers, and TV commentators are up in arms that Tiger Woods was only given a 2-stroke penalty for his illegal drop on the 15th hole yesterday. Tiger said last night that he dropped his ball two yards behind his previous spot, clearly violating the rule that you must drop "as nearly as possible" to your original spot. Golf people are not happy about it. They say that the new rule is B.S. (or it´s at least being misinterpreted), and Tiger should DQ himself to save the integrity of the game.

In Philadelphia, at a human abattoir on Lancaster Avenue, is where it ends, not where it starts. It starts with the perversion of language. It starts when the icons of a dissipated culture reduce a baby to a “fetus.” From there, Yeats’s blood-dimmed tide rolls rapidly in. Before long, a baby is not a person but a punishment, as President Barack Obama framed the matter in his familiar off-the-cuff iciness. Of course, to describe newborn children in their boundless possibilities and wonder would be to acknowledge, foremost, their humanity. That is why, instead, abortion enthusiasts must grope for words

Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-WV), one of the architects of the Affordable Care Act, said on Tuesday that the healthcare law, set to go into full effect in less than eight months, is “probably the most complex piece of legislation ever passed by the United States Congress” and “is just beyond comprehension.” Rockefeller said he is concerned that early missteps with implementing the healthcare overhaul may cascade into confusion and chaos. The law, said Rockefeller, is “so complicated and if it isn’t done right the first time, it will just simply get worse.” Rockefeller’s consternation echoes comments made earlier this

They say they were just doing what the boss trained them to do. But eight former employees of a run-down West Philadelphia abortion clinic now face prison time for the work they did for Dr. Kermit Gosnell. Three have pleaded guilty to third-degree murder. And Gosnell, 72, is on trial in the deaths of a patient and seven babies allegedly born alive. In testimony at the capital murder trial this past month, an unlicensed doctor and untrained aides described long, chaotic days at the clinic. They said they performed grueling, often gruesome work for little more than minimum wage,

With President Obama, there’s always a catch. In the 2014 budget he announced last week, Obama proposed a more accurate way of calculating the inflation rate for annual cost-of-living increases in Social Security. It’s a technical change in pursuit of honesty and good government. And if adopted, it would cause benefits to grow more slowly, though almost imperceptibly so. Republican leaders in Congress ought to be delighted since they had “championed”—Obama’s word—the idea in the first place. Then came the catch. The president’s price for adopting this gentle reform was hundreds of billions in new tax increases.

TALLAHASSEE - Picture this: You´re in the left lane of the interstate, driving a little below the speed limit, when some guy zips up behind you and swerves past you on the right. Then you notice the blue lights flashing. You´re savoring the satisfaction of seeing a trooper actually nab an aggressive driver — until you realize it´s you he´s pulling over. This could happen, if not very often, under a major transportation package expected to be taken up in the Senate Appropriations Committee next week. Introduced by Sen. Jeff Brandes, a St. Petersburg Republican, the bill is a 173-page

On Thursday, in the midst of ongoing national debate over prospective gun control and comprehensive immigration legislation, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) said that he didn’t need the approval of a majority of his own party to move forward with legislation. Referring to the so-called Hastert Rule, named after former House Speaker Denny Hastert (R-IL), which dictated that House leadership not bring up any bill for a vote without the support of a majority of the majority party, Boehner said, “Listen: It was never a rule to begin with.” Then, realizing the gravity of admitting

A few hours after Margaret Thatcher´s death on Monday, the snarling deadbeats of the British underclass were gleefully rampaging through the streets of Brixton in South London, scaling the marquee of the local fleapit and hanging a banner announcing, "THE B@&$! LOS ANGELES — Jonathan Winters, the cherub-faced comedian whose breakneck improvisations and misfit characters inspired the likes of Robin Williams and Jim Carrey, has died. He was 87. The Ohio native died Thursday evening at his Montecito, Calif., home of natural causes, said Joe Petro III, a longtime family friend. Petro said Winters died of natural causes and was surrounded by family and friends. Winters was a pioneer of improvisational standup comedy, with an exceptional gift for mimicry, a grab bag of eccentric personalities and a bottomless reservoir of creative energy.

Hi. As you’ve probably noticed, I’m not the President. I’m just a citizen. And as a citizen, I’m here at the White House today because I want to make a difference and I hope you will join me. My name is Francine Wheeler. My husband David is with me. We live in Sandy Hook, Connecticut. David and I have two sons. Our older son Nate, soon to be 10 years old, is a fourth grader at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Our younger son, Ben, age six, was murdered in his first-grade classroom on December 14th.
