| Since becoming the president of the United States of America, Barack Obama has delivered 699 speeches using a Teleprompter, according to statistics compiled by CBS reporter Mark Knoller. That number includes campaign speeches, State of the Union addresses, and everything in between. All told, according to Knoller, President Obama has made 1,852 speeches, remarks and comments. Obama´s given 35 "speeches in which he referred to Slurpees." He´s held 58 town halls. The president´s gone golfing 113 times, playing 52 times close to the White House at Andrews Air Force Base.

Unfair criticism. With the world hanging on to his every word and trying to make something out of it to feather their own position or nest, a president SHOULD as often as possible deliver talks using the carefully prepared text from a teleprompter.
Like critizing his golfing to relieve the stress of his 24/7 job this is just anothe cheap shot at Obama.
I may despise some of his policies, but I promise to address the issues, not resort to this kindergarden-level personal criticism.

What this shows is he´s talking us to death. "All words and no action". "Talk is cheap". "All hat and no cattle!" as they say in Texas. "Blah, blah, blah all day long" out here in California. New pole barn looks good on the outside but empty inside.
This is the usual from a blowhard politician. When he´s all done with his 699 speeches nobody can remember anything he said. He sure sounds good though.
Thing is the obama presidential library would be hard pressed for material without these speeches. This is all he´s got. Cheap words. Even a Vaudeville actor can deliver a script. Mr Teleprompter.

Criticism of the teleprompter is not directed at 0bama so much as its treatment by the sycophantic media and its pathetic attempts to ignore/suppress this man´s woeful lack of innate spontaneity and articulateness which requires a fair combination of intelligence and scholastic effort. Just imagine what the Press would have done if Bush, Reagan or Palin were so hopelessly dependent. That what it is about.

Remember when President Hologram went to meet with elementary school kids in their classroom? And he used his teleprompter to speak to them? That was really special... And as to the golf, on 52 days, the troops at Andrews AFB, who paid for the golf course, were denied the use of their golf course, so that the president could golf with his boyfriends.

"Grandpa" provided his Organizing for Action talking points today. Yesterday, a troll named "Rabbit" sent the OfA message. Could be one and the same. Sure sign of an Obama troll: First to post comment since there must be an Obama bonus for first placement. They also mention they hate some of his policies, but never explain which ones. Their only dislike of Obama is that he didn´t go radical sooner.

They’re big. They’re ugly. They’re noisy. And they’re coming. So get ready. The blockbuster brood of the periodical cicada, large insects that emerge en masse from the ground in 17-year intervals across the northeast, is on its way — and New York City’s largest public radio station is encouraging residents in Central Jersey and beyond to help track the invasion. “The whole idea came from our news director, Jim (Schachter, of Summit), who lives in New Jersey — he promised his wife that they would move from their home before the 17-year cicadas came back,”

The night began like many at Boorda Hall, a five-story barracks at Naval Station Great Lakes, the Navy´s premier training base on the shore of Lake Michigan in Illinois. Somebody announced a party, and the hard drinking and beer pong began. A 21-year-old Marine lance corporal, so drunk on rum and Mountain Dew she was slurring her words, went to look for Kyle Antonacci, a Navy seaman she´d been dating off and on. Antonacci soon texted his friend Mike Pineda to help him deal with her. Both men had sex with her that night. But what distinguished May 8, 2009,

A U.S. Foreign Service officer was killed and four others wounded in Afghanistan while carrying out a goodwill mission in the eastern part of the country. The State Department team was delivering books to an Afghan school in the Qalat district of Zaul province when their convoy was hit by a suicide bomber, Secretary of State John Kerry said Saturday. "She was everything a foreign service officer should be: smart, capable, eager to serve, and deeply committed to our country and the difference she was making for the Afghan people," Kerry said of the slain official.

ATLANTA – Luke Hancock came off the bench to score 20 points, walk-on Tim Henderson sparked a second-half rally with a pair of monster 3s and Louisville advanced to the NCAA title game Saturday night, escaping with a 72-68 victory over Wichita State. As the final buzzer sounded, a Louisville player tossed the ball high into the air and injured Kevin Ware stood up, thrusting his arms above his head. It was the 15th straight victory for the top-seeded Cardinals (34-5), who will play the winner of Syracuse-Michigan for the national title Monday night.

The Keystone XL Pipeline has emerged as a major issue in the Massachusetts special U.S. Senate election, with environmental groups committing nearly one-third of the $1.25 million in outside money already spent on campaigns. The biggest spender so far is the League of Conservation Voters, which has already spent more than $545,000 to help elect Democratic candidate and Rep. Ed Markey, who has a strong pro-environment platform. “Our field campaign is resonating with voters across Massachusetts,” said Navin Nayak, a political specialist for the group. “The people of Massachusetts want climate change champion Ed Markey representing them.”

At the corner of Columbia Pike and Walter Reed Dr. in Arlington, Va., sits a stainless steel bus stop with a million dollar price tag. Yes, that’s right. The futuristic-looking bus stop cost $1 million to build. The so-called “super stop” boasts a heated concrete floor and a digital display board that shows when the next bus will arrive, but it doesn’t do much to keep commuters warm or dry (except for their feet). The stop leaves the people waiting for transportation exposed to the elements.(Snip) Some $800,000 of the money came from federal and state tax dollars via grants,

Now that it’s almost departure time for Julius Genachowski, Obama’s first chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, The Hill newspaper has noted one important sign of his priorities. In his four years at the helm, the FCC hasn’t issued one fine to Hollywood for indecent content on broadcast television. Now there’s a legacy. Hollywood sends its gratitude, Mr. Chairman, for an absolutely perfect record of inaction. Who says that in Obama’s America, your campaign contributions can’t buy regulatory paralysis in Washington when needed? Few media outlets noticed. Communications Daily described Genachowski’s perfect zero as a “restrained approach.”

The battle for the potentially pivotal votes of African American legislators on a bill to legalize gay marriage in Illinois intensified Friday — as opponents and proponents alike pulled out the big guns. Leading the opposition, Cardinal Francis George and a group of black ministers launched an aggressive campaign against same-sex marriage to be waged through radio commercials and telephone calls. Weighing in on the other side, national civil rights leader Julian Bond sent a letter urging legislators to grant equal rights to “my gay and lesbian brothers and sisters.” George met with prominent Chicago area black pastors and bishops

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that
