There is a grain of truth to what Obama said. What he really wants to do is wipe out much of the US small arms and related industries that are generally recognized as being conservative and Republican constituency groups. Democrat gun control bills in the Congress no longer go after what they used to call "assault rifles", now they have expanded that to go after what they call "assault weapons" that some Democrats define as being any semi-automatic handgun or rifle, that could "possibly" accept a clip or magazine containing more then 10 rounds of ammunition.

Anyone knowledgeable about firearms knows that such a firearms ban would encompass just about all modern firearms produced and sold in America today. If such a ban were enacted a large portion of the US small arms and related industries would not be able to survive by bidding on a diminishing number of military contracts. When those industries go out of business, tens of thousands of well paying American jobs in those industries would also cease to exist.

While referring to the mentally ill as being victims, Obama and the liberal Democrats completely ignore Hollywood and related industries, all liberal Democrat constituency groups, that produce and market extremely violent movies and very addictive violent video games that absolutely give the dangerous mentally ill the idea to murder a lot of innocent people, to draw worldwide attention, as they set out on that amounts to their own personal suicide mission.
