They can´t tell from this. I´m sure if Obama´s brain was examined visually, it would look just like a normal persons!!!

None of the possible diagnosis claimed for Lanza would show up as brain deformities. Developmental and psychiatric disorders are not in the formation of the brain but rather in the connectivity - how the brain processes information. These differences never show up on post-mortem examination. And today´s technology isn´t sophisticated enough to capture the processing differences in tests on live subjects. In some cases, they can say there is more or less activity in a certain brain segment, but we have no technology that can actually ´see´ the difference.

A read of the article gives more explanation about the brain abnormalities that are checked for:

Carver said Lanza’s brain showed no tumor or gross deformity, though he didn’t expect to find a gross deformity.

“That would be associated with very severe disabilities,” he said.

People who suffer from such deformities usually require a “custodial” setting, Carver said.

Another sufferer of social loser syndrome mainstreamed to learn to socialize from the "normal" kids, with a helicopter mom hovering nearby protecting him. The growing up process begins at birth, and an increasing number of (single) parents can´t deal with the idea that their child is not a lead dog. Too many half-orphaned boys model mom´s female-centric behaviors when they should be learning to stand up for themselves, and how to recover from occasional defeat. "Bullying" starts with a lack of courage on the victim´s part to respond, often compounded by extreme zero-tolerance institutional response to any "conflict"...even the healthy type, like a sock in the nose in self-defense. Today´s kids are taught to take it, report it, and let the adults handle it. Eventually, for some, the frustration of it all builds until something explodes. BTW: I´m the parent of three successful and independent adults, and I´ve seen this all personally at school, scouts, as a youth sports coach, and elsewhere. Each of mine had my express permission to defend themselves.

If he turns out to have one of the in alphabet sicknesses, like ADD, ADHD, etc., and was being medicated, would we even be told, thus taking the blame off of the Assault(looking) rifles?

This whole thing reminds me that British movie, "A Clockwork Orange". We are re-living the principle that society is at fault for everything that goes wrong with individuals. We just can not face the fact that sometimes, there really are people among us, - the Colin Ferguson´s, the Ted Bundies, the Susan Smiths- who should be taken to a place and have their lives removed from their bodies- they are not sick, they are not "products of a twisted society"- they are merely evil to the core. All else is just a liberal excuse to avoid reality of life on planet Earth.

FTA: The toxicology exam, which could take several weeks, involves testing body fluids for psychiatric medications or illegal substances. Carver said the result could provide “potentially valuable information” in creating a full picture of Lanza.

Heads´ up on this. If they find ´nothing unusual´, that doesn´t mean that the killer wasn´t taking psychotropic drugs, it just means they weren´t present in his system at the time of his demise.

Pity the pharmaceutical company that made any drugs found in Lanza´s system. They´ll be sued from here to kingdom come.

I´ll bet the lawyers have already signed up most of the parents.

Lanza knew he better kill himself when the police arrived.
