Happy birthday Michelle! As she

spotlight, how Mrs Obama
became a style icon
with substance

Michelle Obama, who turns 49 today, has proven her fashion savvy time and again since she was introduced as first lady in a yellow sheath and coat by Isabel Toledo on Inauguration Day 2009 - so much so that we don´t discuss it nearly as much as we used to. Four years ago, there was a daily barrage in the media: Jason Wu gown! J. Crew gloves! Jimmy Choo shoes! It remained that way for months and even years. There was the Naeem Khan beaded strapless gown for the first state dinner in the Obama White House,

The AP "reporters" - - both male and female - - must have giant muscles from carrying all that water for Zippy & Moochie.

Gunga Din never carried nearly as much.

I don´t care that it´s her birthday. I don´t care what she´s wearing. I don´t care about her ´´causes.´´ I do, however, care that she´s been so greedy and careless with taxpayer dollars to support her selfish lifestyle.

I have a problem with criticizing her for how she looks. I´m not a ravishing beauty either. But I do dress appropriately and my daughters make sure I don´t embarrass the family in any way. She does not represent the country well in any way.

WC Fields said it best
once when a lady told him he was drunk he replied, "I may be drunk today, but tomorrow I will be sober, you on the other hand are ugly and will still be ugly tomorrow"
moochell you are not pretty today and you will not be pretty tomorrow no matter how they wrap you up in supposedly stylish cloth.

Rarely does she dress appropriately for her "position." Most of the time her clothes look too small or too "young" for her. When she wears her belts up under her boobs it looks ridiculous. Style icon - definitely not! With substance - maybe so?!

Mrs Obama is a comely woman - she is tall, not overweight. With top fashion designers (and without budget constraints) sewing her gowns to custom fit - she can and does pull off a striking figure (unlike the black widow spider outfit of her own choosing years ago!). So I will not criticize her for these things. What I find appalling is her tone deafness to the economic disasters unfolding all around the country as wrought by her and her husbands´ ideologies, the wanton spending sprees on vacations and evening gowns, travel and parties, so often paid by taxpayers - all the while wagging a finger and telling the populace it is too fat, too greedy and too selfish. That and the fawning media that gets the vapors and faints at her feet as if she has actually EVER accomplished an actual deed above and beyond wife and mother. Something we commoners have done for ages, and a far cry better.

I work for a department store and believe me, you can´t find anything she wears in my store. I never see anyone, no one, imitating her ´style´. It is just so ridiculous. I know what haute couture is and I know ready-to-wear and I have no idea where this ´great style´ comes from. Perhaps from her grandma´s closet circa 1955 and grandma was a hobbit...

All that the pink Tracy Reese dress was missing was the half back shoulder pads.

MO flunks the style icon test. The image that comes to mind is of Mrs. Laura Bush in her feminine skirt suit, contrasted with MO in her too tight, seams nearly splitting pants suit, yapping on her cell phone while walking to the 9/11 memorial service in Pennsylvania a couple of years ago.

Saw MO at a U of Oregon graduation this past summer, and I found her pleasant enough. Surprise! She was doing her part there to keep her brother in a coaching job he was overdue to be fired from. Nevertheless, she isn´t one of us, and doesn´t want to represent the good women of America as much as root and loot and shower herself and him with glory and praise. If there was a boating accident, and they were swallowed by a whale, and never seen again, I might miss the kids.

#17, that quotation is usually attributed to Winston Churchill, also a legendary drinker.

I don´t find most of Michelle Obama´s wardrobe attractive, but I don´t care. I believe that far more important is that she has a definite dislike of her country--that I can´t overlook.

I have always said that with enough money you could make anyone look good and goodness knows she has spent plenty to look this good..but I was wrong. It´s that greedy heart you can´t mend.

She only cares about the price tag. Wonder how many she actually pays for today.

I looked at some older photos of her today and she has become increasingly lighter in skin tone since 2008.

Barbie is never looking back in that mirror.

40, Empress Alexandra and her sister, grand Duchess Elizabeth , were both very beautiful women by the standards of their day. Born into minor German nobility, they both married into the Russian Royal family. Both were martyred for their Orthodox Christian faith by atheist Communists. Im sure you meant to compare Moochie to some communist hag, not to Tsaritsa Alexandra, a devoted wife and mother to 5 children who also were brutally murdered with their parents. Communist propaganda against the Romanovs has been disproven in post-Communist Russia by its own archives. Seems they lied to the world but warehoused the truth. Truth has been the first casualty of the ØbaMugame regime. Sorry, but you touched a nerve.

What substance?????

The Moochle spends money for fashion and to try and look like a lady but the liberals have always enjoyed the "All flash, no clue" kind of existence.

Her food program is at best a punch line to a very poor joke, with little if any factual basis and her hypocrisy in personal behavior is not an example I would want my kids to follow.

She likes to play at being "First lady" and traveling at great expense on a whim and wasting as much of my money as she can.

So what is her substance ??????????????????????????????????

Style icon? Lady? FLOTUS? Woman of substance? And who might this be...surely not the double ax handle wide sasquatch buff armed pushup babe who continues to embarrass America.

What a piece of trash article intended to escakate the effort to make Americans see this pig of a woman as something she isn´t, has never been, and can never be. I don´t care what they do to the edifice: Cheap is cheap. Classless is classless. And a lying grifter only gets more skilled. Finding lost Malaysia plane may

A US Navy official warned Sunday that finding the missing Malaysian jet may be impossible, as efforts to locate the plane intensified ahead of the expected failure of its black-box homing beacons. “It all depends on how effective we are at reducing that search area,” Capt. Mark Matthews told reporters at Australia’s Stirling Naval Base near Perth. “Right now, the search area is basically the size of the Indian Ocean, which would take an untenable amount of time to search.” Matthews — who is in charge of the Navy’s “Towed Pinger Locator” system for finding black boxes — compared the

A senior White House reporter´s Twitter account has exploded after she posted controversial photos from President Obama´s trip to Saudi Arabia. Carrie Budoff Brown, who writes for Politico, transfixed thousands of Saudis who are starved of news from their own royal family and government because of strict censorship rules. However, since the Arab Spring, use of Twitter and other social networks has expanded exponentially in the region, making it the fasted growing market in the world. And when Brown began posting pictures of 89-year-old King Abdullah, whose health is unknown to his people, with an oxygen tube beneath his nose,

One very special kid gave an unexpected answer to a math problem he was assigned for homework: (Photo) Wow! This kid has a good head on his shoulders. Even at a young age, he realizes the sacrifice that so many men and women have made while defending our country. Many of them struggle adapting to life back home. Thankfully, organizations like the Wounded Warrior Project work hard to provide our veterans with moral support, rehabilitation and job assistance. Additionally, events such as the W100K bike ride and gala that President George W. Bush hosts each year recognize these incredible men

The litany of frighteningly stupid Common Core math worksheets never ends. Perhaps now, though, kids are starting to fight back in satisfyingly creative ways. An alert reader sent The Daily Caller this image of her seven-year-old son’s perfectly reasonable homework answer. The boy attends a public elementary school in San Jose, Calif. He is in the second grade. (Photo) The math curriculum used by the school is GO Math! The publisher of GO Math! is Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. The parent who sent the homework question to TheDC noted that the curriculum aligns with the Common Core math standards. “If you look closely

YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. - A 4.8 earthquake shook the northern part of Yellowstone National Park early Sunday. The University of Utah Seismograph Stations reports the earthquake occurred at 6:34 a.m. about 4 miles north-northeast of the Norris Geyser Basin. The university reports it was felt in the Montana border towns of West Yellowstone and Gardiner, both about 20 miles from the epicenter. There were no immediate reports of damage. There are few visitors in the park this time of year. Yellowstone sees frequent small earthquakes. Since Thursday, there have been at least 25 recorded in the nation´s first national

A new political advocacy group has teamed up with former Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) to argue that the economic inequality agenda of Senate Democrats is a loser with swing voters. That may be why some centrist Democrats facing uphill campaign battles have kept their distance from the Democratic leadership’s agenda items. The group, Each American Dream, which has a starter budget of $1 million, has commissioned a poll showing that 67 percent of swing voters believe expanding businesses and creating jobs is the best strategy for reducing economic inequality, not raising the minimum wage. Fifty-nine percent of swing voters said

I didn’t set out to become Twitter famous in Saudi Arabia. As a senior White House reporter for POLITICO, I’ve traveled all over the country and the world with President Barack Obama, touching down in Air Force One on one unremarkable tarmac after another to record his arrival. I seldom find them noteworthy — and, as an infrequent tweeter, rarely ever share-worthy.But Riyadh was different. A stunning display of Saudi guards awaited Obama at the airport Friday in perfect formation, swords in hand and scarves on their head. So I did something I don’t normally do: I tweeted the photos.

Obamacare Enrollment Deadline

WASHINGTON — LeBron James wants you to sign up for health coverage under Obamacare. So do Magic Johnson and Jonah Hill’s mom. Monday is (sort of) the deadline for Americans without employer-provided health coverage to sign up for insurance under the Affordable Care Act — the White House extended it so that anyone who’s begun to sign up by Monday can still complete the process by April 7 — and the final enrollment numbers will be an important test for a law intended to expand access for the uninsured. It’ll also be a test for the White House’s high-octane sales

If a Christian man marries an atheist woman, and they name their child Noah after the Biblical hero, is Noah a Christian? It takes a great deal more than words to be a Christian, or even to truthfully call oneself religious; but in Hollywood, where superficiality rules, spirituality is like an all-access pass, no Biblical understanding required. Apparently, Paramount Studios caught wind of all the hullabaloo about how the American public is clamoring for faith-based films. They got a Christian producer and a first-rate, albeit atheist, director, and the project was quickly green-lighted. However, as the saying goes, the devil

GREECE, N.Y.- At their most recent monthly meeting, the five members of the Greece Town Board took their seats, gaveled to order and moved quickly through the regular opening agenda: Roll Call. (Check.) Pledge of Allegiance. (Check.) Moment of Prayer. (Check.) Leaders of this town of 96,000 outside Rochester say they have no plans to shake up the longtime routine unless, of course, the U.S. Supreme Court orders them to. A ruling could come any day now on whether the town violated the Constitution with its opening prayers because nearly every one in an 11-year span was overtly Christian. This

A startling rift appeared Tuesday on the Supreme Court as the three female Justices came out swinging like Brunnhildes — women warriors — for what they erroneously labeled an “entitlement” to employer-provided contraceptives and morning-after pills. The Justices were hearing oral arguments in Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc., a case hyped by the Democratic Party as a test for women’s rights. Justices Kagan, Ginsberg, and Sotomayor sprang on Hobby Lobby’s attorney , interrupting his every sentence and pummeling him with questions taken right out of the Democratic Party’s “war on women” playbook. That playbook was laid out in a

Las Vegas - Many of the Republican Party’s most powerful insiders and financiers have begun a behind-the-scenes campaign to draft former Florida governor Jeb Bush into the 2016 presidential race, courting him and his intimates and starting talks on fundraising strategy. Concerned that the George Washington Bridge traffic scandal has damaged New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s political standing and alarmed by the steady rise of Sen. Rand Paul (Ky.), prominent donors, conservative leaders and longtime operatives say they consider Bush the GOP’s brightest hope to win back the White House.

The past couple of weeks have marked a turning point in American ugliness as the mob has turned its full fury on first lady Michelle Obama. From criticism of her trip to China to a recent “tell-all” by former White House assistant press secretary Reid Cherlin in the New Republic about Obama’s allegedly tyrannical behavior, the gloves have been removed. As described, she was a perfectionist — super-attentive to detail and laser-focused on advance planning. And this is bad because? Worse, according to a former (anonymous) staffer, there was no barometer for meeting Obama’s high standards. “The first lady having

Where’s the beef? That’s what the carnivores were wondering as they arrived at the Boathouse in Central Park for the “Noah” party. The buffet tables were loaded with various forms of edible vegetable matter, but there was no meat, fish or cheese — because director Darren Aronofsky is vegan, as was the hero of his biblical epic, as played by Russell Crowe. To underscore the point in the movie, which also stars Emma Watson and Jennifer Connelly, villain Tubal-cain (Ray Winstone) eagerly bites the head off an unidentified reptile and devours it raw. Meat = evil. Got it. As hungry Boathouse guests bellied

Obamacare supporters are taking a bit of a victory lap today after yesterday’s administration announcement that six million people have signed up for private plans under the law, equaling the revised projection put out by the Congressional Budget Office after the botched launch of the exchanges last October. It’s a weak cause for celebration, given that success, according to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, was originally "at least" seven million people getting covered under the law by the end of March. And as an Obamacare factoid, the six million sign-ups figure just doesn’t tell us all that much

A "vast majority" of Mitt Romney donors, establishment pooh-bahs, and an anti-conservative consultant who is the epitome of permanent political class want former Florida Gov. One bundler even said that a "vast majority” of "Romney’s top 100 donors would back Bush." The Post also noted that in the meantime "Bush’s

If Betsey McCaughey is correct (and I bet she is, because she has not only read the entire ObamaCare bill, she has written a book about it), Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan publicly humiliated herself during the oral arguments on the Hobby Lobby case, revealing that she either did not read the law, or failed to comprehend it if she did so. Writing in the New York Sun, McCaughey lays out what is wrong with the Justice’s declaration about Obamacare: she asserted that the statute itself mandates provision of birth control. Not one word in the Affordable Care Act guarantees health plans will cover birth control products.

The Nebraskan straight-talker told MailOnline in an exclusive interview that Obama isn´t up to the job of bringing liberals and conservatives to the table to rescue America´s slowly choking entitlement programs. YOKOHAMA, Japan — Climate change is already having sweeping effects on every continent and throughout the world’s oceans, scientists reported Monday, and they warned that the problem is likely to grow substantially worse unless greenhouse emissions are brought under control. The report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a United Nations group that periodically summarizes climate science, concluded that ice caps are melting, sea ice in the Arctic is collapsing, water supplies are coming under stress, heat waves and heavy rains are intensifying, coral reefs are dying, and fish and many other creatures are migrating toward the poles or
