| You may recall the 1966 cult-classic by Napoleon XIV titled, "They´re Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa." The lyrics of that song describe an individual who is out of his mind and who is being taken "to the funny farm" and to "the loony bin" so he can be attended to by "those nice young men in their clean white coats." The subject of the song is simply considered a danger to society, a menace if you will, crazy, and unable to make rational decisions on his own.(snip) Enter today´s debate over guns.

Obama´s backed off on gun grabbing for now because it´s too big a political fight he can´t win so he´s dancing around the edges. But what he is doing in compiling info on legal gunowners all over the country into a centralized database he could use in the future.
Profile and dossier building on American citizens should be illegal but he´s using the school shooting to overwhelm opposition.

The NRA, and some of its supporters, had an over-the-top reaction in anticipation of something that didn´t happen. All the screaming that he was trying to confiscate all guns - he never said that, he never proposed that. The Congressman who was ready to start impeachment proceedings if Obama dared issued any executive orders...and the executive orders were requesting more studies, telling Justice to enforce existing laws, etc.
When you are hurt, yes, speak up and speak up mightily. There will be a boisterous conversation in Congress on the proposed legislation and yes, most of it will not pass. But the NRA has lost the high ground by pretending that existing laws, with existing enforcement levels, was a line in the sand. The Second Amendment sacrosanct? Okay. Laws and regulations as of 2012 sacrosanct? Nope.

The prezzzy is out of his depth on this issue and being egged on by the lunatic media and the statists. I´m sending money to the NRA the only group willing to stand up to this tyrant with strength in numbers, the are willing to fight unlike the GOP.
I support everyone doing their part to keep guns out of the hands of lunatics and away from kids without training. I´m not going on some database by answering these questions. It forces us to lie, because if we refuse to answer, we get put in a database anyway.

NØbama had much more sinister plans for what he was going to announce yesterday -- including confiscation.
But then the NRA rose up -- with the added power of 250,000 new members in that last month -- and made it clear that we would fight to the death to stop NØbama from infringing on our 2nd amendment rights.
So NØbama got the message loud and clear, and knew this was a fight he was going to lose. NØbama cares far more about his reputation and legacy than anything else (being the most egotistical president in history -- even out-egoing Clinton), so he backed down massively.
As #11 said, it worked!!! The NRA lookes stronger than ever!!! Thank God!!!

For a clue as to what may be motivating the North Korean regime´s recent provocations, one need look no further than Kim Jong-Un´s American counterpart in the Dear Leader deification sweepstakes. If our major media were not fully committed propagandists, they would report the findings of a large scale survey of law enforcement personnel on the subject of further gun legislation. After all, they are currently following the President´s strategy of distracting the public from the awful state of the economy by exploiting the victims of Newtown to push for further erosion of Second Amendment rights. So the views of law enforcement personnel ought ot be of some interest. But of course the results are dramatic

The murder trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell largely is being ignored by the mainstream media, even in the face of grisly testimony, such as what we heard yesterday. Life News reports: ...a former employee described how she heard a baby scream during a live-birth abortion. Abortion clinic employee Sherry West described an incident which "really freaked (her) out" and related to the jury how she heard a child who was born alive following an abortion scream.

It´s one thing for President Obama to be cocky and overstate his prowess at governing. People are used to politicians grabbing credit, and besides, you can always rationalize when it comes to explaining why things didn´t quite work out as you claimed they would - "the sequester ate my recovery" being the latest successful-enough example. But sports is something else. The basketball either goes through the hoop or it doesn´t. That´s why President Obama´s history of braggadocio regarding his prowess at hoops is having a potent effect on his overall public image, especially with those who are favorably inclined to him.

During his two day flurry of fundraising in Northern California, the President of the United States took it upon himself (and allow to be released to the public - not all of his fundraising comments make it to the masses) to praise the attractiveness of Kamala Harris, California Attorney General (snip) The remark, predictably, generated a little of what Allahpundit called a ´Blue on blue food fight." Only one of my six children has left New York for economic reasons but the strain of living in this expensive nanny state is weighing heavy on my other five and their families. As a native New Yorker, I´ve seen its middle class population decline over the years due to its neglect of blue collar families which is ironic since this is a Democrat city. With the recent arrests of several local politicians for corruption perhaps New Yorkers will pay more attention to those they put in office. Given their past indifference in local elections this is highly unlikely.

LOS ANGELES — Jonathan Winters, the cherub-faced comedian whose breakneck improvisations and misfit characters inspired the likes of Robin Williams and Jim Carrey, has died. He was 87. The Ohio native died Thursday evening at his Montecito, Calif., home of natural causes, said Joe Petro III, a longtime family friend. Petro said Winters died of natural causes and was surrounded by family and friends.
