Congressman: Obamacare,
WH Gun Control ´Intertwining´

Breitbart´s Big Government, by Matthew Boyle

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 1/16/2013 9:18:35 PM

Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-KS) expressed concerns about the “intertwining” of President Barack Obama’s gun control push and his 2009 healthcare overhaul legislation Obamacare in a Wednesday evening statement. Huelskamp worries that the administration will coordinate controversial parts of Obamacare that may invade patient privacy with the president’s new strident gun control efforts. (Snip) "It seems that there is no end to the Administration´s efforts to conduct citizen surveillance in the exam room,” the Congressman warned. One part of the president’s 23-point gun control

Comments:
For almost a generation, doctors have been quietly quizzing our kids about guns around the house & reporting this to "authorities." Also, Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-KS) is one of the members that Boehner [between tears] removed from a key House Committee chair because Tim is with the Tea Party.

The important thing here is to keep an eye on any legislation that has any of the announced 0bama gun control "initiatives" added as an addendum to get passed. This is probably the way Mr. ValJar will try to outsmart Capitol Hill.

Why does no one remind folks that we need large magazines for target practice.
Let´s reframe the argument/question so that we don´t always have to defend ourselves from the libs´ rants (pun intended).

If my doctor asks me how many and what kind of ´guns´ I have at home, I will look him straight in the eye and state that, strictly speaking, I take the traditional definition of a gun as a smooth-bore artillery piece...so I can truthfully say ´none´.

He´s a conservative Virginia Military Institute grad...he´ll get a chuckle out of that.

Tehran - Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum urged the international community to lift economic sanctions against Iran. “Iran is our neighbor and we don’t want any problems,” Sheikh Mohammed, who is also vice president and prime minister of the UAE, said in a televised interview with BBC News. Sheikh Mohammed said that wider relief from sanctions would mean “everyone will benefit”. On November 24, Iran and the Group 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, Britain and France plus Germany) sealed a six-month Joint Plan of Action in Geneva to lay the groundwork for the full resolution of the West’s decade-old dispute with

At the request of the government of India, the United States will withdraw one official from its embassy in New Delhi over tensions involving a case surrounding an Indian diplomat. The decision comes as Devyani Khobragade, whose December arrest and strip search in New York strained ties between New Delhi and Washington, headed back to India. State Department spokeswoman Jennifer Psaki said she hopes this will help gain closure in the incident. U.S. prosecutors accuse Khobragade of lying in a visa application about how much she paid her housekeeper. She was indicted this week by a federal grand jury on

Cairo - The referendum on Egypt´s new draft constitution slated for Jan. 14-15 represents a major milestone in the country´s future roadmap, political experts said. The referendum marks the first time that Egyptians would go to the polls since the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi by the military last July, after mass protests against his one-year rule and his Muslim Brotherhood group. A Dallas conservation group´s auction of a rare license to hunt an endangered black rhino in Africa has outraged conservationists, leading to death threats against the auction´s organizer. The Dallas Safari Club plans to auction off the license Saturday night, hoping to raise as much as $1 million for conservation efforts. Criticism has come from groups including People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), which said the sale is a case of letting rich hunters buy a thrill at the cost of a rhino´s life. About 4,800 black rhinos are believed to be living worldwide, according to the World Wildlife Federation. The Namibian tourism ministry says about 1,750

Washington - Just days after dismissing two top advisers for their roles in the George Washington Bridge scandal, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is facing questions over the use of Superstorm Sandy relief funds. CNN has learned that federal officials are investigating whether Christie improperly used those relief funds to produce tourism ads that starred him and his family. The news couldn´t come at a worse time for the scandal-plagued Republican, who is facing two probes into whether his staff tied up traffic near the country´s busiest bridge to punish a Democratic mayor who refused to endorse his successful re-election bid.

Before Chris Christie’s first scandal devolves into an obsessive quest to prove who knew what, when, it’s worth pausing to appreciate the wonderful, quintessential New Jerseyness of the incident itself. What happened, roughly, is this. On August 13, Bridget Anne Kelly, one of Christie’s three deputy chiefs of staff, sent an email to David Wildstein, a Christie confidant serving as an executive for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which controls much of the transit infrastructure of northern Jersey. Kelly said that it was “time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee.” Some speculate that the precipitating

Earlier this week, there was a spring in conservatives’ step. That was because Chris Christie was in deep doo-doo. His career seemed to be imploding, over Bridgegate. Conservatives hadn’t been so happy since the Obamacare rollout (which wasn’t that long ago). With media attention focused on Chris Christie and Bridgegate, it was easy to miss a more important Washington story last week. The other shoe dropped on the Obama presidency. Still battered at home by the ObamaCare debacle and the permanently sluggish economy, the last thing the White House wanted was bad news on foreign policy. But that’s exactly what it got, and then some, thanks to the shockingly scathing book by Robert Gates. The former defense secretary offers the most devastating critique to come from an Obama insider. It was late June 2008, and Hillary had dropped her bid for the presidency earlier that month. The war room, where her brain trust had devolved into profanity-laced shouting matches, was empty. The data crunchers were gone. The political director had drifted out. A handful of Hillary’s aides had already hooked up with Sen. Barack Obama’s campaign in Chicago.
