| RUSH: President Obama today is taking action that a majority of Americans disagree with. He´s going down a road a majority of people disagree with. He knows it. The question is, why? Why is Barack Obama literally trying to push people to snap? Why is he doing this? It´s as though in some way he´s attacking the very sanity of people in this country. Why is he doing this? Like most Leftists, including those in charge of academia and the media, Barack Obama hates America. It is an offense to him. Americans -those citizens who do not also hate America- are beneath contempt to Obama and people like him. He has plainly announced his desire to "fundamentally transform the United States of America." The dopes who voted for him were either not listening or didn´t think he really meant what he said. I am glad he has a second term. It will give him a chance to enlighten thoughtless voters who cast their ballots for him because it made them feel good to do so. His chickens will come home to roost. Richard Durbin (D-IL) told host Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday that supporters of new gun control legislation do not yet have the votes to pass it, despite defeating a Republican-led filibuster attempt last week. Durbin is the Senate Majority Whip, responsible for counting his party´s votes on key legislative proposals. The specific bill facing the Senate is the Manchin-Toomey compromise on background checks, which would expand such requirements to gun shows, among other provisions. Currently, private sales between individuals at gun shows do not require background checks--just as private sales anywhere do not require them.

As president, he famously issued an electronic document on the White House website in 2011; the document purported to be his long-form birth certificate, though it is apparently a forgery. Pro golfers, golf writers, and TV commentators are up in arms that Tiger Woods was only given a 2-stroke penalty for his illegal drop on the 15th hole yesterday. Tiger said last night that he dropped his ball two yards behind his previous spot, clearly violating the rule that you must drop "as nearly as possible" to your original spot. The trial of Philadelphia doctor Kermit Gosnell would seem to have all the elements of a spectacular news story: shocking allegations, horrifying visuals, sympathetic victims. Yet until late last week, much of the national media was silent as testimony about Gosnell’s alleged “house of horrors” abortion clinic rolled out. Much of the media attention outside Philadelphia, in fact, centered on how little media attention the story was receiving outside Philadelphia.
