| In the days before Barack Obama’s first inauguration in 2009, Washington’s hotels were not only sold out but had been sold out for weeks. Rooms weren’t available at any price. On January 18, 2009, the Washington Post reported that “all but 400 or so of the District’s 29,000 hotel rooms were booked.” Finding one of those 400 rooms was a daunting challenge — and even they were gone by Inauguration Day. Now, as Obama prepares for his second inauguration amid lessened hope and enthusiasm for his presidency, it’s easy to find a room.

Low interest from low information voters. Agree with #1 on exactly how many people really voted for him. It still seems so surreal. However, people found out in their paychecks and they will continue to suffer under Obamacare taxes and higher premiums.

I called up a half dozen Washington-area hotels to ask if they had a room for two people, arriving on Saturday, January 19 and departing on Tuesday, January 22.
None would accept EBT Cards.
So, All had rooms available.

It´s not only who voted for him, it´s also how many times they voted. When it is reported that in county after county there were often 25% or more voters cast than there were those registered to vote, and of that number not a single vote was cast for Romney. It sort of makes you go, huh!!! But all you hear for both the media and the elephant party are crickets. Was the election won, or was it stolen?

Went to W´s second inauguration. Not a room to be had within miles of DC and the crowd was unreal trying to get to the inauguration. Made our hotel ressies on the Metro line election night so we could get around easily and even then pickings were slim. Interesting the comparison.

Controversial gun legislation cleared a key Senate hurdle Thursday, as lawmakers voted 68-31 to start debate on the package which includes expanded background checks and new penalties for gun trafficking. Senate Democrats, joined by a few Republicans, were able to overcome an attempted filibuster by more than a dozen senators opposed to the current bill. Those senators could still slow-walk the debate, but the Senate will ultimately begin votes on amendments -- one of which is considered crucial to winning support for a final vote.
