Disinviting God to the Inauguration
American Spectator, by George Neumayr

Original Article

Liberals booed God at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte last year after skittish party officials reinserted a mention of him in the platform. Nothing has changed since then. The latest secularist push of the party is to remove God from the inauguration. Prominent liberals are questioning the use of the Bible for the presidential oath and the use of prayers in the ceremony. They have already made some progress in their demands. In 2009, Obama upset them by selecting vaguely conservative pastor Rick Warren to deliver the invocation. But this year Obama has chosen a

If Obama were honest, he would be placing his hand on a well-thumbed paperback copy of Saul Alinsky´s "Rules for Radicals."

Just another in a long line of up-yours actions that poke a finger in the eyes of white Christian conservatives, and of traditional values in general.

If I didn´t believe that this man and his entire cadre of haters would get divine justice at some point, I´d cut my wrists.

FTA: While Obama agrees with O’Donnell that the Bible is hate literature, he is not yet ready to drop it from the ceremony. He prefers to turn the heat up on the frogs a little more slowly. Moreover, he likes the syncretistic blending of old and new in the baptisms of modern liberalism. He finds the appropriation of religious symbols for his own purposes useful.

Most revolutionaries do. Even Napoleon invited the clergy to his coronation, though he made sure to give them poor seating, as they passively watched the leader crown himself. Modern liberalism is a continuation of such godless self-coronations, but the need to dupe the public requires that it move more slowly than the O’Donnells like.

For Republicans to attempt to compromise with these people is to compromise with evil.

We do not need to "modernize and moderate" in a futile effort to save the Republican Party. We need public servants with the knowledge, wisdom and conviction to do right according to the precepts of our founding, and the courage to lead in word and deed in order to save the Republic.

President Obama on Wednesday defended his 2009 stimulus package and unveiled a new initiative that would provide grants for repairing the nation´s infrastructure. Speaking from the Union Depot in St. Paul, Minn., the president cited the station, which had been refurbished and improved thanks to TIGER grants from the stimulus, as an example of successful spending to improve infrastructure and create jobs. The president said the stimulus had “actually worked, despite what everybody claimed” and announced a competition for a new round of federal grants to fix the nation’s roads, bridges and transportation hubs.

However, he added fuel to the fire by continuing to slam the group’s backers, the Koch brothers, calling them “un-American.” Americans for Prosperity President Tim Phillips, in response, said Reid had effectively

The bill was approved in a 243-176 vote after a bitter debate in which both parties accused each other of using tax rules to game elections. Fourteen Democrats voted with Republicans to support the bill, titled the Stop Targeting of Political Beliefs by the IRS Act. The legislation delays for one year an IRS rule that would stop 501(c)(4) groups with tax-exempt status from certain political activities, like voter registration drives. Republicans
