| Retail giant Walmart pledged Tuesday to hire any returning military veteran that wants a job with the company. Walmart U.S. CEO Bill Simon told a retail conference in New York City the company expects to hire 100,000 veterans over the next five years, one of the largest-ever hiring commitments of former military personnel. "We believe Walmart is already the largest private employer of veterans in the country, and we want to hire more," Simon said. "Hiring a veteran can be one of the best decisions any of us can make...Veterans have a record of performance under pressure.

And Walmart will be better for it! What a great company to do this. I don´t expect all soldiers will make a 20 year career of it, but it´s a soft landing and a great gap filler for those men and women who need a job RIGHT NOW while they look for something they want to do. Walmart just gets more of my business because of this.

Sam Walton would highly approve of hiring vets. Likewise, Sam Walton would not put up with the ammo shenanigans going on in his company. Wally World cannot have their cake and eat it too. To me, the vet thing is not noble in light of the ammo situation. It is merely an attempt to cover a wrong done to the American people.

´Greeter´ is a non-essential job created by Walmart to give needy older Americans an income…and for some, a place to go to feel useful and to fill empty, lonely days..
It´s more of an act of charity for Walmart to do this.
And if the pay really is $7.00 an hour, (I don´t know about that) there obviously are people willing to work for that wage.
Don´t criticize what you don´t understand.

Secretary of State John Kerry is worth some $200 million, give or take a yacht. In March, the number of Americans who dropped out of the labor force increased by 663,000 which adds up to a record 90 million Americans who are no longer looking for employment. It would take superspin powers to portray the March jobs report as anything other than a huge step in the wrong direction. The US economy added just 88,000 jobs last month, 95,000 in the private sector as public payrolls fell by 7,000. The official unemployment rate ticked down a tenth of a point to 7.6%. 1. That is a paltry number of jobs, more or less matching assumed labor force growth per month. So the economy must add at least that many jobs just to keep the labor market at current depressed levels.

North Korea’s young leader Kim Jong-un is waiting for United States President Barack Obama to make a phone call to Pyongyang to discuss easing tensions on the Korean peninsula, according to Russia’s news agency Itar-Tass. The report cited United Kingdom diplomats, saying Pyongyang was demanding the U.S. president personally call Kim Jong-un as one of the conditions to relieve the current conflict at hand. Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”
