The US taxpayer has been forced to give $10 billion a month for 12+ years to a criminal operation. It´s been a war against the US, killing and maiming us and destroying our economy. Everyone knows organized crime runs Afghanistan. Our money is handed out to crooks pedophiles. The Taliban has always gotten a cut. We´re not allowed to change the culture and that´s the only thing that would help. It´s a crime that we´ve stayed there this long.

Other than the first wave that landed shortly after 9/11, being deployed to Afghanistan would turn a young, optimistic Republican into a bitter, pessimistic Independent. Young men full of life come home and become alcoholics because everything they thought they knew about the good ol´ USA gets tossed in the crapper. During the first few years, Soldiers were still able to convince themselves that they were fighting a War on Terror. As they processed what they´d experienced and witnessed with their own eyes, it would become clear that our government was out of control and that our populous was absolutely clueless. If you tried to tell the truth, you´d often met by someone who´d tell you what an idiot you were, that they´d once served in Vietnam, had a niece in the Air Force, or once talked to an officer (who was a real brave sonuvabitch before we deployed and then never went outside the wire once we were in country). Damn GWB and everyone involved for this fiasco. I despise Clinton, but he learned to pound his enemies from the air after his debacle in Mogadishu. Compassionate Conservatism my arse. "I will not nation-build" should be right there with "No new taxes." Still not sure how many people died from new taxes, but the nation-building has been been bloody and a total waste. Talk all you want about 47% and low-info voters. The Republicans destroyed themselves.

We´ve got some serious ´Nation Building´ to do here at home.

We are broke.

We have a growing culture of dependency.

We must also bring home all the troops from all foreign bases.

All of them.

To stay under the present conditions would be a crime.

The rules of engagement created by Petraeus and his successors are rules for the certain death of our troops. They went along with Obama´s plans without a peep of complaint.

Bring them home.

Under the present conditions there,and Obama folding like a lawn chair, bring ´em home, now!

Afghanistan, a primitive muslim hellhole, is not worth one American life. As already said better than I can by #2 and others, why, oh why, would we even attempt the insanity of "nation building" after enduring Vietnam?
