My first thought on seeing the video was how can the Phila school system let someone into the school dressed that way. To protect children we have got to stop being so P/C. The person could just as easily had a weapon. If people don´t want to identify themselves they shouldn´t be allowed to enter.

I don´t understand why they are waiting to question the child. As time goes by, her memory of the events will become less clear and may become embellished.

I wonder if they will now ban burkas and hajibs since this was an obvious disguise and I don´t think "Tiffany" is a traditional Muslim name. There is more to this story than is being related in the press. How did the woman know the child´s name?

Said on the news the teacher was a sub, but I would think they would know the child should not be able to go with anyone not being identified.

I think they always take anyone, especially children, who have been abducted to be checked out medically first before questioning. And children are interviewed and questioned by a child psychologist who knows how to draw information out using drawings and age-specific questions.

No excuse for the school not to have followed procedures. We went to pick up my grandchildren at pre-school one time and my son had forgotten to tell them that morning that the grandparents would be coming for them. Everyone at the school knew us as we had picked them up many times before. No way would they give them to us this time until they had called my son at work to verify no matter how well they knew us. The school should have called the child´s mother even if this abductor did show ID. IDdoesn´t mean she had permission to take the child.

My thoughts, #5. Why would a 5 year old leave school willingly with a stranger shrouded in a black burqa?

#5 and #8: I seem to recall from the TV news last evening that the mother also wore that kind of garb, or something similar. Perhaps this led to the child not questionning.

#7, I´ve seen some of the ´liberal´ responses you´ve left here, but even you must know that at YOUR grandkids school, there is something YOU have that allows them to be as specific as possible in adhereing to the rules.
BUT because of liberalism, and it´s proponents like YOU, that child is just collateral damage in the war AGAINST ´discrimination´.
Democrats DO NOT CARE ABOUT PEOPLE. They only care about ´groups´ from whom they can derive votes.

I don´t have a clue what #10 is talking about, does anyone? Children at ALL schools should be safe from being abducted by anyone. All schools should be as careful as my grandkids school was with all children. Of course the school was wrong.

I do not disagree at all with what he said TODAY, I had to write on a very teeny keypad. What I was saying was that HE will be held to each and every regulation regarding removing a child from school, but NOT a burka´d woman.

I think that the Philadelphia School District did not want to offend this person, and that is why no questions asked. God forbid you offend a muslim.

A five year old child is unlikely to question what adults do. Older children than this girl have been taken by the hand and led away.

I and the MR. were more than happy to sit and wait while our grandchildren´s parents were contacted before we were allowed to take the kids home. If the school was this strict and thorough about following their security procedures, even though they knew us well and on a first name basis, it meant our grandchildren and all the children there were in a secure place with good administrators. None of us have any idea what happened in the Philadelphia school, so everything is mere speculation. If they didn´t require parental permission to take a child out they had no security to begin with.

#19, I agreed with you regarding the necessity for controls at schools; I laud your patience and wish society had a greater expectation of your behavior out of everyone. Sadly, we know that is not normal anymore. Poor behavior is the norm.
I was trying to make the comment that #16 was regarding why you were made to adhere to the rules, and why the burka´d woman was not.

I will say that to me, the equivocation I´ve seen in your comments(Tamron Hall a balanced reporter? Hillary Clinton DEFINITIVELY fell down and bumped her noggin, and all us conspiracy theorists are nuts?) leads me to believe that your sympathies lie somewhere in between.
