GOP congressman threatens
impeachment if Obama uses
executive action for gun control

Daily Caller, by Caroline May

Original Article

Posted By:JoElla Bee, 1/14/2013 8:20:54 PM

Texas Republican Rep. Steve Stockman threatened Monday afternoon that he would file articles of impeachment against President Barack Obama if he institutes gun control measures with an executive order. Stockman warned that such executive orders would be “unconstitutional” and “infringe on our constitutionally-protected right to keep and bear arms.” “I will seek to thwart this action by any means necessary, including but not limited to eliminating funding for implementation, defunding the White House, and even filing articles of impeachment,” Stockman said in a statement.

I like Steve Stockman. Somebody has to call Obama out for his disrespect for the Constitution and our federal governmental system.

Start the drumbeat. Do not be afraid or be deterred. Finally someone who wants to stand up for what is right! We need another 434 people like him in the house and 61 like him in the Senate.

Is it possible this congressman could meet with an accident? He shouldn´t go on any fact finding missions.

Impeach. And let every gun owner in the country descend on DC for the trial; with 10 days worth of food and a tent to make sure they know we are serious.

Actually #2 you need 217 more like him in the House. A majority is enough to impeach. You need 67 to convict at trial in the Senate. This is a fool´s errand and does nothing for the conservative cause. It reduces us to the level of Dennis Kucinich.

If the talk of impeachment does nothing more than bring attention to the dictatorial actions of this so-called President, so be it. Just what does a Conservative have to do to rise above the level of a fool?

Reply 14 - Posted by: eoddad, 1/14/2013 10:41:47 PM     (No. 9116884)

Is there only one Republican with guts up there. Obama is overstepping just like FDR did with packing the court. I believe Obama wants violence to break out so he can crush it. As Rush was saying today he wants to target the Conservative South and Isolate it. He wants blood flowing. This is not politics as usual he wants real violence. Danger!!!

#13 is right

The HOUSE could impeach him (as it did with Clintoon), but the Senate will never get the needed votes.

Still, I´m for it.

Don´t draw the impeachment gun unless you intend to use it! What a strange world we live in when unconstitutional E. O.s can take away Constitutional given rights! This must be stopped.

Reply 17 - Posted by: MOSwas71331, 1/15/2013 1:21:00 AM     (No. 9116990)

It´s certain the US Senate won´t convict, but I see no downside for a list of 0bama´s actions which have ignored the constitutional limits on his powers as the US chief executive officer. It will be difficult for the media and the Hollywood crowd to make a case to the contrary, and there will be many opportunities for the conservative members of the media to argue for the impeachment.

FINALLY.  A congressman who honors his oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

However, almost everyone continually overlooks one critical detail: ONLY an AUTHENTIC United States President — one who is a natural born American citizen — can be impeached.  Therefore a usurper cannot be impeached.

Impeachment is too good for a usurper because a usurper merits a TRAITOR’s punishment.

“If the president is allowed to suspend constitutional rights on his own personal whims, our free republic has effectively ceased to exist,” he said.

THANK you!! This guy actually seems to have a grasp. We ought to make him Speaker now before the session gets started and to blazes with the recent Boehner vote!

Filing articles of Impeachment would at least force the MSM to cover the misdeeds cited in the documents. Oh, sure... the 1st few weeks it will be said it´s because he is black. But eventually, the truth will come out.

It has taken 4 years of this daily assault on America for even one Republican to bring up impeachment. Maybe the gun issue will drive them over the edge.

Reply 27 - Posted by: Echohawk, 1/15/2013 8:01:19 AM     (No. 9117203)

#25--impeachment would slow down the regime. In October, Obama signed his 934th Executive Order. Most presidents sign five or six per term!
What are all these E.O´S? Why has he signed so many? What other Constitutional rights has he signed away? An order of impeachment would put Obama on the defensive and the MSM would be forced to report on all these new E.O.´s.
He doesn´t have the House or Senate votes for new gun control laws. Nineteen new E.O.´s would circumvent the Constitution.
I say bring it on.

If the House is going to do it, better do so while they are still in power, not that it has a chance of passing. Doubtful the Boehner would go for it, but it will keep Obama and his lawyers busy for awhile.

Reply 30 - Posted by: Rinktum, 1/15/2013 8:33:29 AM     (No. 9117266)

Republicans won´t even stand up to Obama and you honestly believe they will file Articles of Impeachment? I can´t see that happening especially under Boehner. The leadership in the Republican party is weak, ineffective, strategically incompetent, and their messaging stinks. They have enabled what is happening to this country for decades with their corruption, cronyism, spending, and appetite for pork. Obama is not the only problem in Washington.

If I was a governor, I would order the state police to arrest and throw in jail any federal agents who tried to enforce a blatantly unconstitutional action. And each such agent would be personally held both criminally and civilly for violating our civil rights.

Listen up people! Impeachment will rely on agreement but charges that Obambi is an illegal occupant of the oval office is downright proveable. In the end either action is going to get a negative response from the black community. Why not get him out. All of his handiwork will then be valuless. Do it NOW!

I´m all for the idea. But what I do not and will not ever understand is why we let it come to this. The man is not a leader. If he were a leader that was serious he would try to pass legislation through congress. Slapping an executive order on something that can be rescinded by the next opposing administration is as limp wristed and unserious as one can be. (This includes #43) Someone needs to say that loud and clear. He does not care. Short term it is all about favorable policies that make him look good. That´s politics. Nothing for the long term. Just all about him. Where are the Republican statesmen that will proclaim that. Impeachment is reactive. Fine do it. But for the love of all that is holy some conservative needs to take a pro active stand for the Constitution. Do it now, this day, this hour. Right now. Or else all will be lost.

We´ve reached the tipping point . Where all in congress , whatever their leanings , will show their true colors . Today we read a new member from Texas has promised impeachment if the wanna-be dictator moves to further disregard the Constitution . Nothing else matters at this point . This move should have been made in his third year . NOTHING ELSE MATTERS now . It´s time to remove the little phony troublemaker before he ruins this country . I´m up to here with " how to get around him " or some such BS . Strategy on how to get rid of him is all that matters .

I have maintained that Obama will eventually dry up the availability of ammo. Either through regulation or some other underhanded mechanism. It´s a shyster´s way of subverting the 2nd Amendment without violating Constitutional provisions.

#13 and 16 are wrong. Let the senate acquit him, but the process will require evidence. Of which, there is much. It will expose O´s lawlessness. We need impeachment.

On another site, a Republican Insider reveals there is real fear in congress. Possible threats of life and limb. I truly believe that. Congressmen are silent for some odd reason.

I am going to read the ´Third Bullet´ today by Stephen Hunter. There is no way a bolt action Carcano rifle could have killed JFK at that distance. From a man who never even shot sharpshooter in the Marines. Plus a 6.5 round will not explode like that. Why mention this.....our government is being compromised. Badly.

Please, Congressman Stockman, file your articles Of Impeachment!!! We´ve been waiting for someone with guts to support the Constitution. If Obama goes ahead with his Executive Orders on gun control, then there shouldn´t be any hesitation on the part of this Representative. If this filing doesn´t get any traction, then another Patriot needs to file another, then another until one finally gets enough backing to hold a trial

Obama, regardless of the outcome, needs to be put on the defensive.

For 4yrs now so many conservatives have been calling "To do something about Obozo". Now someone has stepped forward and proposed that something be done. And suddenly, we have a few crying the it is not going to work as long as the dims hold the senate so why try etc. Well, IMHO, it will call attention to just what Obozo is doing and has done in the past. I firmly believe that a great many low info voters don´t know what is happening. That´s why they´re low info types. And the drive-by media will be forced to print and broadcast the stories. And then maybe, just maybe, at least some information can be leaked out to the stupid (low info) types. And that´s why this idea needs full support for ALL conservatives across the land. WE´RE not stupid and fully understand the dangers to the future of this once great nation and really don´t want to see it go there!

I wonder how many Obozo voters have realized what a lying POS he´s been? And, I wonder if they realize how he will, with these new Executive Orders, usurp Congress AND the U.S. Constitution - a document he has SWORN to "Uphold, Defend, and Protect"? Will they realize that that is Treasonous and makes him more eligible than any other President in our history for Impeachment, at the very least?

Does it matter that he is destroying America? Or, are they still awaiting their "Free Stuff", which will cost them more than they can possibly imagine?

Or, will they STILL parrot the Leftist Talking Points?

I´d like to believe that the death of all those little children at Sandy Hook, and the resultant misguided gun control frenzy, will lead ultimately to just such a blessed end: a legitimate threat of an Obama impeachment, even if it only contributes to tarnish The One´s legacy, or only to clip his wings. It would be too much to hope for that we could actually impeach the idiot.

Reply 59 - Posted by: artlover, 1/15/2013 11:47:55 AM     (No. 9117725)

You will never get enough people or enough votes to impeach this man. Too many "low informed voters" are behind this guy and there is no way to change their mind. You just as well forget it, it will never happen - not in a country as dependent on the government as our country is.

But it does make for fun red meat to throw out as a distraction from serious work.

Stockman should start the Impeachment because it is the right thing to do. Obama is bypassing our Constitution with his executive orders about gun control, bombing Libya, and behaving like a Kenyan marxist.
Only two previous Presidents have been impeached and it is a huge stigma against them. Obama would not like to go into the history books as the third impeached American. He is a bully who thinks he is a new Napoleon. impeachment will bring him back to earth and maybe he will start behaving more like gentleman.
I know it is difficult to imagine our Kenyan dictator acting like a gentleman. However, I would take my hat off to Congressmen Stockman when he decides to start.

Call me fringe but I have seen enough information calling into question, Obama´s eligibility to Be president.

I have of late seen disturbing information calling attention to voter fraud.

Perhaps all this talk of infringing upon the 2nd Amendment will force people to start resisting. Peacefully at first, then nonviolently if necessary, and finally forming militias, mustering and training.

No amount of posting and arguing is going to convince the low information voter. The only thing that is going to influence them is fear.

If the last month has made anything clear, it is that the majority of the American people want firearms and that they aren´t going to give them up. Not even if a law makes them criminals.

Governments that result to Draconian measures offend their citizenry who was a not only a right, but a solemn duty to change that government.

PS New Yorkers; Bloomberg is completely out of control, you need to do something about that next election. If you don´t than you are no better than the Japaneese or Germans of the thirties. You´ll deserve what comes of that.

# 13 is correct about the math.
Today, the 113th Congress has 200 Democrats and 233 Republicans in the House.
The 112th Congress that expired last week had 240 Republicans and 191 Democrats in the House.
Today the Democrats have a 10 seat majority
in the Senate.
Obama is a just one Supreme Court Justice
away from having complete freedom.
Which is why controlling the Senate
or having near equal numbers was so vital to trying to keep him in check.
We can thank Angle, O´Donnell, Buck, Raese, Akin and Mourdock and their purist patrons for failing to do that.
Now the same groups are going
to primary Saxby Chambliss .
Any attempt by Republicans to bring justified articles of impeachment will be touted by
the powerful media as vindictive,
politically motivated , etc.
Which could jeopardize the 2014 midterms for Republicans.
Pelosi is just 18 seats
away from becoming Speaker.
We ..must.. not... let the House go Democrat in 2014.
The only realistic hope for a successful impeachment would be Democrats and the media becoming
outraged by Obama´s behavior.
Nothing he could do ..nothing..could ever turn either group against him.

Buddy movies have always worked. Mel Gibson brings in a buddy. Jackie Chan brings in a buddy. Sly Stallone brings in a bunch of buddies. It works. Movie goers have learned, you can´t stop a tight knit team. Stockman needs the buddy system. Great way to cut down the risk of his being killed, too. Traitor Boehner is always silent, says nothing. Michelle Bachman, Ron Paul, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Sarah Palin, Sheriff Joe, Orly Taitz, maybe even Hannity and Rush. All these outspoken, loud mouth individuals have to do is join up, team with Stockman for the impeachment. Both electeds and promient citizens join in an unprecedented campaign with Steve. The mafia media will find it amsot impossible to ignore the team of buddies. Each buddy will support the other buddies. A Darryl Issa will not disappear down the media black hole, not with a team of explosive, honest people all on the same crucial impeachment topic and cause. How does it happen? You, YOU, can urge Michelle to call up Steve and offer team formation support. You can storm Hannity’s door and cry out for the same…….that is, if you like the idea. Let’s face it, it is time to join forces and overcome our deadened with greed Congress, and our committed to lies media. It’s actually long past time for big truth, 24 hour per day, truth. The buddy system, team spirit, not Congress controlled, may be our only hope for survival from socialism and ultimately communism. Remember the Navy Seals!

Great idea. His average approval is 53 on RCP, higher than Bush´s on this very day in 2005. Impeach him at it will hit 65, just like Clinton´s approval got BETTER with impeachment. Tinfoil hats are needed to follow the blogs, even this one, ever since we lost the election--and we did lose.

Give all three "I´s" a chance, simultaneously.

Impeachment - Seems like there is enough evidence. Build on it.

Ineligibility - Seems like there is enough evidence...if anyone has the courage to connect the dots, and swing some insiders away from their vow of omerta.

Insurrection - Continue to plan for it.

Boycott the State of the Union speech and make Obe give it in the Senate chambers.
Hold truth of the Union at the same time in the HOuse chambers.

The Justice Department is taking the first steps toward carrying out President Obama’s executive actions on gun control. Attorney General Eric Holder on Friday released three proposals to strengthen the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), which was one of the 23 actions ordered by Obama last week to tackle gun violence. The proposed regulations would give local law-enforcement agencies access to the gun-sale database that is maintained by the FBI. The rules would also preserve records of denied weapons sales indefinitely. The Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act already requires federal background checks for gun purchases, but not every firearm

It’s a popular talking point with conservatives that the purpose of the Second Amendment is to act as a check on a tyrannical government, our own government. According to liberal radio and TV host Thom Hartman, though, the original purpose of the amendment was to act as a check on rebellious slaves, which might just put a kink in Gun Appreciation Day founder Larry Ward‘s theory about Martin Luther King. On Hartmann’s The Big Picture with Thom Hartmann, Hartmann laid it out. “Gun-crazy America is arming up,” he said. ”While Vice President Biden and his gun task force think of

Faced with increasingly stringent benchmarks—the government´s new Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards require a passenger vehicle fleet that averages 54.5 miles per gallon by 2025—carmakers are taking another approach to achieving better fuel mileage: shaving weight off vehicles by experimenting with lighter materials. Automobiles have long been made from steel—a very strong, but heavy material. Now manufacturers are experimenting with new materials—ranging from aluminum to carbon fiber composites to metal alloys—to help companies reach the ambitious fuel efficiency standards.

Why can’t Reid be charged with something? Or perhaps a lawsuit be brought? The answer is the law requiring Congress to pass an annual budget, the Congressional Budget Act

Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”
