| A mentally challenged 15-year-old New York girl endured a brutal gang rape as she was trapped beneath her desk by two boys with her teacher only feet away, alleges a lawsuit filed Friday. The special needs student, identified only by the initials K.J., was allegedly sexually assaulted for 10 minutes as another student ´hit her on the head whenever she tried to escape,´ during a science class at Martin De Porres Academy in Elmont, N.Y. The girl´s mother, who filed the suit, alleged that the teacher ignored the assault even as one student danced on the desk while another

Teacher has been fired, but no charges brought against students, or the teacher.
On the home page of the school´s website: "Dear Friends,
You may be aware, a newspaper has recently reported on an alleged incident from May 2012 at a high school run by the Martin De Porres School known formerly as the Martin de Porres Academy for Career Development. This school, which was consolidated with the Martin De Porres High School (Rosedale) moved to the Rockaways in September 2012. We serve special needs teenagers who have serious emotional, psychological, social and behavioral problems, and whose needs have not been met within New York City Department of Education’s special education programs.
We hold our teachers—indeed all our staff—to a high standard. Therefore, as soon as we learned about the allegations, we conducted an internal investigation. As a result of our investigation, the teacher was fired. We also cooperated fully with detectives from Nassau County who advised us that no charges would be filed against the alleged assailants.
Our Martin De Porres community is a family. We have seen your children through some difficult times, and we have watched with pride as they evolve into responsible adults. I want to assure you that their safety and well-being is our top priority.
Edward Dana Executive Director"

Sounds to me that this was NOT a normal high school , but some alternative school at best, and certainly a detention center for known miscreants. These jobs do not attract good "teachers", but any warm body off the street desperate for a job, probably with no educational training whatsoever.

The future of government run health care can be gleaned from stories like these regarding our government run schools. I fear when all is said and done, we´ll make the UK´s NHS look almost respectable. And to those who say it won´t happen here, I dare you to take a look at the schools, the future is already here.

Of course the teacher did nothing. Do you think she wants to be sued by the boy´s parents!? Better to lose the job than her house.
Until we put the teacher back in charge of the classroom and keep the lawyers/judges/juries out, we can expect nothing less of our teachers.

The "Social Worker" at the school put the victim and one of the thugs in a room and told them "to work out their differences"! The girl left the room with a gash over her eye!
I HATE this!
Her mother tried to transfer the girl to another school and SHE COULDN´T. They made that girl attend that school and endure mocking for MONTHS!

Charge both boys with rape as adults. Charge the girl who helped the boys as well. Charge the teacher as an accomplice. Charge the school administration who did nothing. This is way more than just a firing offense.

I am wondering if the teacher had objected to having been put into a classroom with one vulnerable girl and a pack of male wild animals? I wonder if the "let´s work things out" nonsense was from the teacher or the administration? If the school accepted criminals as students just to make a few bucks on attendance? If the teacher was a man or a woman? If the teacher was a woman, if she was afraid for her life if she picked up a phone or ran for the door during the attack on the girl? If the principal told him/her to say nothing because the girl had a low IQ and no one would believe her?
Being a case involving minors, teachers unions and the government, this will doubtless be resolved long after it is still newsworthy.
So many unanswered questions, even in a UK paper article.

Your government will not protect you or your children. They will not enforce justice when you are wronged. An appeal to government authority is nothing more than an appeal to a self-interested king who couldn´t run a bake sale.
The Progressives have created social Darwinism through the politicization of the criminal justice system. Inefficacy has bread the potential for anarchy anywhere more than 10 feet from a patrol car or armed law enforcement officer.
You need to be strong. Don´t waste your time with the criminal justice system. It no longer has any interest in protecting you or I from these vermin. You must protect yourself and your family, while remaining free from the reach of the justice system just looking for a social justice target.
The gangs of early New York and the mafia of 20th century New York arose from the need to protect their citizens from corrupt government force. They fell to their own internal, moral corruption or co-option. But they started from a need for safety and security where none could be found in government.
We are in the same circumstance today.

The new research shows that an isolated reef off the northwest coast of Australia that was severely damaged by a period of warming in 1998. It was hit by coral bleaching, caused by higher water temperatures that break down the coral´s symbiotic relationship with algae that provide food for coral growth.

As the US and China grow increasingly involved, Kim Jong-un must be brought into line if war is not to be triggered by an act of recklessness. There are two schools of thought about what lies behind North Korea’s increasingly frenzied posturing. The first goes like this: the rhetoric emanating from Pyongyang--including calls to “break the waists of the crazy enemies [and] totally cut their windpipes”--is no worse than their decades-old ritualistic promises to turn South Korea into a “sea of fire”. What we are witnessing, according to this theory, is nothing more than an inexperienced leader

Anyone who remembers the halcyon dreams of the 1990s, of civil society spreading the world over, heralding a new peaceful, global millennium, must marvel at the path the young 21st century has taken. Even those who paid attention to global Jihad before the millennium could not imagine how vulnerable the West would prove in the coming, wildly asymmetrical war. Those who, over the course of the last 13 years, have awakened to the ever-growing danger of Islamism and to the astonishing inability of decent people--Muslims and non-Muslims--to effectively oppose its aggressions, owe themselves a brief lesson in cognitive warfare, and
