Ex-Rep. Jackson´s wife quits
Chicago alderman post,
cites family health issues

Fox News, by Staff

Original Article

Posted By:Scottyboy, 1/12/2013 11:51:40 AM

The wife of ex-Democratic Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. resigned Friday from her Chicago alderman post, saying she cannot adequately represent her ward while dealing with "very painful family health matters." Alderwoman Sandi Jackson’s letter to Mayor Rahm Emanuel doesn’t include specifics, but it follows her husband’s recent resignation from Congress in which he cited mental-health problems and a federal investigation. The first indication of Jackson’s metal-health problems occurred in June when the 10-term congressman unexpectedly left Capitol Hill.

A medical condition he has is they were getting close to his misdeed and he has to lay low. What doesn´t make sense is leaving the House Dems cover for themselves as long as your one of theirs, something amiss here to say the least. Now his wife is out, must have really upset someone.

When NASA astronauts were suiting up to go to space in the 1960s, they had to make a big decision before they explored the world above us: How large of a man are you? Getting it wrong could damage the mission. According to a former NASA life support system expert who helped construct space diapers, otherwise known as Maximum Absorbency Garment systems, each astronaut in the Gemini and Apollo programs had to wear a condom-type sheath with a hole at the end for urination inside their suits. In an interview on the Science Channel´s Moon Machines documentary series about early space travel, engineer

New clever species of praying

A new species of praying mantis, Liturgusa algorei, indigenous to the thick rain forests of Peru has been named after former vice president Al Gore; one of 19 new species of the insect recently identified by entomologist Gavin Svenson. The discoveries came after Svenson, curator of invertebrate zoology at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, decided to search through both old collections at museums and embark on field expeditions into the forests of Central and South America. Unlike the patient, zen-like praying mantis we´re all familiar with, these equatorial cousins take a decidedly different approach to both hunting and self-preservation. "This group,

President Obama, like most Kenyan politicians, loves beating about the bush and avoiding the real issue. In Kenya, we all know the big problem is corruption, but we are addressing virtually everything else but corruption. And so in America, our cousin President Obama dances around serious issues like the typical Kenyan he is. When Russia invaded Georgia in 2008, Obama thundered with indignation and a fulsome, righteous — and justified — anger. The people of Georgia thought he would follow through on his fiery words with real action to set their country free of Russia’s torment, but wapi! With Cousin Barry, as with

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has dodged some version of the question countless times before, but that didn´t stop a young woman from asking - and laying on a guilt trip, to boot. "Mrs. Clinton, if you don´t represent women in politics in America as future president, who will?" she asked during a Saturday meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative University in Tempe, Ariz., according to the Wall Street Journal. Talk-show host Jimmy Kimmel, who was presiding over the discussion, jumped in: "To add to that, when you do run for president will you use the old Clinton campaign lawn signs?" Mrs.

A pair of potentially catastrophic cases will be argued before the Supreme Court on Tuesday. These cases are brought by privately held, for-profit corporations that are arguing their religious convictions should preclude them from offering employees the health insurance required by law. Specifically, these private employers don’t want to allow their employees’ insurance to cover some forms of birth control because, contrary to medicaland scientific evidence, they believe some birth control causes abortions. Corporations are not people. Corporations cannot have religious views. If religious rights are extended to corporations, it puts us on a slippery slope where any private company

A few weeks ago, I wrote about how the sweeping acceptance of gay marriage in recent years is owed in large part to Christianity. Rejecting the rigidly hierarchical and stratified societies of the ancient world, Jesus Christ taught the equal dignity of all persons, proclaimed that the meek shall inherit the earth, and declared that the last shall be first and the first shall be last. The Western world has been working out the logic of these subversive teachings ever since, with the institutional transformation of marriage being the latest, though surely not the last, example of its social, moral,
