This is a sop to Harry Reid, who´s been riding this Luddite anti Yucca Mountain donkey for years. Bad science, eco-wackos, scared dumb voters, etc. have been fighting Yucca Mountain for years, after $billions have been sunk into building it.

If Nevada politicians had any brains they would have bartered with the Feds to build a reprocessing facility at Yucca (after overturning Carter´s dumb ban on reprocessing) and taxed the heck out of incoming material and the outgoing reprocessed rods. But Nooooo... Harry and his cohorts would rather have an issue to bulldoze dumb voters rather than jobs and tax revenues.

..ok 14 Billion dollars later...study after study..20+ years...Nevada..Harry Reid...politics...call me skeptical...and thinking why shouldn´t we ask for our money back......local taxes,state taxes....this 14 billion was a boon for Reid.....

Start billing NV for the carrying costs of Yucca Mtn expenditure to date. Then hold a special election a year later and see if the state´s voters would choose to run the existing facility (and get government revenue) or would prefer to continue to pay to keep the site unused.

Nuke & Nat Gas are the obvious winners in the ´Power Struggle´.

Leftists require perfection of those persons or ideas they disagree with while ignoring the problem that their pet projects are consistent total failures.

I need not list the expensive failure of the left. Blocking the completion of good projects based on solid science is the other half of their criminality.

Perhaps the mistake was having the Yucca site 100 or less from Las Vegas. I assume that the location was politically driven - to provide convenient construction jobs mostly.

Any new site should be in the high desert and maybe near a rail line. NM, AZ, WY, UT, ID, MT all have good locations. NV should be banned from any and all federal energy projects.
