Westchester Nordstrom Rack
robbery: Suspects sought;
14 hostages released

ABC News, by Elex Michaelson

Original Article

WESTCHESTER, LOS ANGELES -- Fourteen people were released after being held hostage inside a Nordstrom Rack store in Westchester all night during an armed robbery. The search is still on for at least two suspects. The situation started shortly after the store closed at 10 p.m. Thursday when a husband or boyfriend of an employee called police to say there was an armed robbery. When officers arrived at the Promenade at Howard Hughes Center, they saw a man who was acting strangely run into the Nordstrom Rack.

Comments:
More detail. The people stuck in the theatre for six hours were told they could watch free movies. The thugs´ car turned up on Washington Blvd in Culver City. Still no description of the thugs - wonder why. I still don´t understand how they could have gotten away.

Jennifer Aniston has never appreciated people prying into her personal life -- least of all Katie Couric, who hosts her own syndicated daytime talk show. During a July 31 appearance on E!´s Chelsea Lately, Aniston dissed the 56-year-old TV personality and debunked a recent tabloid rumor about life with Justin Theroux. Aniston´s BFF Chelsea Handler began by reading an except from a recent magazine article which claimed the couple are nudists: "Jen´s started to embrace her curves at home since longtime lover, nudist Justin, has persuaded her to join in on the fun," the comedienne read.

Drew Johnson, the editorial page editor of the Chattanooga Times Free Press was fired after 14 months on the job for publishing an editorial with a headline that read: "Take your jobs plan and shove it, Mr. President." The editorial ran Tuesday, the same day Obama visited Chattanooga. The powers-that-be posted a notice Thursday explaining the firing: The headline was inappropriate for this newspaper. It was not the original headline approved for publication, and Johnson violated the normal editing process when he changed the headline. The newspaper’s decision to terminate Johnson had nothing to do with the content of the editorial,

Paraguayan president Federico Franco replied to his Uruguayan peer Jose Mujica ironic remarks saying that ‘evidently he’s good at geography; I guess he passed with the highest grades’ since he is aware that Paraguay is a landlocked ‘Mediterranean’ country. President Mujica besides calling on suspended Paraguay to return with ‘intelligence and pragmatism’ to Mercosur and waning about the fact that the landlocked country needs of the Parana River and the River Plate for a sea outlet, ironically stated Uruguay was willing to grant Paraguay all the rotating Mercosur presidencies

The Catholic cathedral in the Chilean capital Santiago is to remain closed for five days after it was vandalised by pro-abortion activists on Thursday. About 5,000 protesters marched through Santiago in support of an 11-year-old girl who was raped, fell pregnant and is not allowed to have an abortion. Some 100 demonstrators entered the cathedral, wrecking confessional booths and shouting insults at worshippers. Abortion, even for medical reasons or in cases of rape, is illegal in Chile. It was banned during the rule of Gen Augusto Pinochet, the military dictator who governed Chile from 1973 to 1990. Chilean President Sebastian Pinera

The idea of a ‘workerist government´ has been peddled in Venezuela for some years now. The late Hugo Chávez did it, and President Nicolás Maduro is persistent about it. But what do they mean by this notion? One would take that to mean that all conflicts related to labor liabilities have been settled, or that the minimum wage keeps up with inflation, or that the social security system works. Unfortunately, reality gets in the way. The government keeps huge debts with public sector workers as reported by workers themselves. Strikes, labor disputes,

But he is beginning to sound more like a fan of likely 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. "She´s a rock star," he said in a newly released interview. "She has, maybe not glamour, but certainly the aura of someone widely regarded throughout the world," he added in a reference to her work as secretary of State. Serial sexter Anthony Weiner’s wife partly blamed herself last year when her horndog husband confessed to her that he was at it again. Friends and family told People magazine that Huma Abedin was kicking herself at the time for bailing out of couples counseling and focusing more on their newborn baby boy. But, thanks to a new round of joint therapy that continues even now, the couple was able to put the relapse behind them. “They really became a unit, and she feels much closer to Anthony now,” a relative told the magazine. That’s a long way from how Abedin

President Obama has been rolling up his sleeves campaigning across the country delivering a surreal stump speech message supposedly aimed at the middle class: big government works, Obamacare is manna from heaven, the wave of recent scandals are “phony” figments of the imagination, and all economic problems are the fault of the Republicans. Conveniently, he leaves out the bankruptcy of Detroit, a city run by his own party for more than half a century. His message is so stale and unconvincing, that even The New York Times and Washington Post have noticed. Both papers, usually loyal to Obama, remarked that

The correspondence suggests the discrimination of conservative groups extended beyond the IRS and into the FEC, where an attorney from the agency’s enforcement division in at least one case sought and received tax information about the status of a conservative group,

She is now a member of the European Parliament. ´After I left the Department of State in January 2005 we stayed in touch via email,´ he told TSG.

Sen. John McCain — a Democrat? There was confusion Wednesday after the Arizona Republican mistakenly strolled into President Obama’s meeting with Senate Democrats at the Capitol. The room full of Democrats — who happened to be meeting in the same room where the Senate GOP usually holds their weekly policy luncheons — erupted in applause and laughter as the former Republican presidential candidate made his entrance. As McCain, 76, walked out of the Dem-filled space, reporters pressed him as to why he stepped foot in the room.

If we learned anything about Barack Obama in his first term it is that when he starts repeating the same idea over and over, what´s on his mind is something else. The first term´s over-and-over subject was "the wealthiest 1%." Past some point, people wondered why he kept beating these half-dead horses. After the election, we knew. It was to propagandize the targeted voting base that would provide his 4% popular-vote margin of victory—very young voters and minorities. They believed. He won. The second-term over-and-over, elevated in his summer speech tour, is the shafting of the middle class. But
