Obama Provoking a Constitutional Crisis
American Thinker, by Lee DeCovnick

Original Article

Years ago in discussions with my writing friends, I proposed a novel about a President with an undiagnosed brain tumor who signed an Executive Order banning the civilian possession of all semi-automatic weapons. His diseased brain had become increasingly obsessed with creating a utopian society, free of personal choices and personal responsibilities. One writer said the premise of my novel was "too far fetched." Another said the idea did not reflect "the political realities of our Constitutional government." As a final insult, a third writer asked if I could revise the plot,

Technically, the Constitution doesn´t grant the Executive branch the authority to issue executive order. Just as the Constitution doesn´t grant the Executive the right to determine Senate rules. Yet, Obambi and Dems feel that the grant of dictatorial powers to Da Won is a miracle from heaven and we should acquiesce to Da Won´s will. This truly could be the tipping point but only if there are enough people in this country that want their freedom from goobernment and not their goodies from goobernment.

The author is wrong. The Constitutional Crisis has come and gone. The only question is whether THIS usurpation of power which the Constitution explicitly does not grant the President will be the step too far that causes others to reign him in or if the U.S. Constitution has become a dead letter.

Would someone in the world please tell me what in the world I can do about this crisis? I have a gun. I stored up some food.

All this seems to be inevitable and all I can do is watch. There are very few good political leaders to support.

The Dems are playing chess. The GOP is playing checkers.

One more thought. Obama has put our Constitution up in the closet with all the other antiques. To him, it´s just dead words on old paper.

The Right Scoop offers this rundown on the debate, which runs about two hours long: “They begin by each taking 18 minutes to state their positions. The Democratic Party has created a well-oiled fundraising machine. While unlikely to recapture the House of Representatives and playing defense in key Senate battlegrounds, party leaders and their allies have created an efficient and well-run cash operation consisting of a small network of outside groups and party committees with distinct, concrete responsibilities. The party’s House and Senate fundraising arms closed out 2013 with big cash hauls bolstered by extensive fundraising commitments by President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama and Vice President Joe Biden. Non-existent HealthCare.gov security? Who cares? Patients turned away from emergency rooms voluntarily (because they don´t want to risk huge uncovered costs they will have to pay out-of-pocket) or from medical providers involuntarily (because they don´t know whether a particular patient is or isn´t covered)? Moody´s rating agency has lowered the outlook for health insurers from stable to negative, blaming ObamaCare. Few Americans will shed tears for insurance companies. But the Moody´s announcement is a warning sign to taxpayers. They´ll be getting clobbered. Section 1342 of the Affordable Care Act forces taxpayers to make insurers whole for most of the losses incurred selling ObamaCare exchange plans through 2016. The bailout is designed to conceal the failure of the president´s signature health law until he is out of office. No one in the Obama administration talked up the advantages of bailing out insurers.
