The Real Gun-Control Consensus

| The next time you hear a fellow American bemoaning the lack of Washington bipartisanship, tell him to cheer up. There is one issue on which Congress still resoundingly agrees: gun rights. Bear that in mind, too, the next time you read a story about the "new" political debate over gun control. An almost cosmic disconnect has been building in the political sphere since the tragedy of Sandy Hook. On the one side is the gun-control community, which sniffed a rare political opening and is determined to use it to the max. Vice President Joe Biden´s gun-violence task force

#1, Are you saying that the obysmal won will take Joey´s shotguns away?
Another reason bobo may have given this task to Joe is all they have to do is dust off the gun-grab plan they already had to satisfy the public outrage generated by the Fast & Furious exercise, except they got caught, change a few words, put on a new cover, and PRESTO, new plan.

Need to constantly state how Democrats want to take away your Constitutional rights.
They want to take away your lawfully purchased firearms.
Why? The Dems are scared of this link, at this time, and are trying to hide from this fact.

Only a few are talking about the REAL problem...young men (boys) 14-25 who are on mind altering prescriptions such as Ritalin, Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil, Adapin, Thorazine, etc. Most of the mass shooters were on these drugs.

FTA:Senate Democrat Joe Manchin caused a media sensation when he declared, immediately after Sandy Hook, that nobody needed "30 rounds in a clip." Less reported was that it took the Democrat about the time necessary for your average West Virginian to drive to a ballot box to clarify that statement and to add that he´s "so proud of the NRA."
I love it!

There need be only two questions asked of each and every pro gun control advocate: Do you enjoy private protection for you professionally or privately, and is that protection armed with guns? Are you willing to disarm them as a sign of sincerely?

This proves without a doubt that Democrats don´t like America as it is. They want it changed and if it takes executive orders or rewriting the Constitution, they will.
They honestly believe they can protect you better than you can, can provide your needs better than you can, can raise your children better than you can, can spend your money better than you can, can pick the right food to eat better than you can, can keep you healthier than you can, can do anything better than you can.
The people that are expanding the government to be more intrusive, are the same people who want to confiscate our guns. Shouldn´t come as a surprise.

Obama’s MO for the second term is to govern by executive order fiat. As fast as the SCOTUS can shoot down his fiats, he’ll generate more. The glacial pace of SCOTUS litigation will ensure that Obama can institute his “complete transformation of America” with little effective opposition. Impeachment is the only thing that can derail his plans.

All other comments/questions about it are irrelevant! Start your conversation THERE with gun-grabbers.

The Democrats *will* press the issue because it serves their interests whether it wins or loses: it distracts attention from what a horrible failure the Democrats have been in economic, foreign, and health care policies; it lets them attack Republicans: "We love children, the Republicans/NRA want to give guns to nutcases to kill children. The Republicans would love to kill the children themselves, but are too busy obstructing progress in Washington." Three, staying on the offensive keeps the Republicans in ´whipped dog defense´ mode.
And as for the "Congress will never pass it" argument, that´s precisely what a lot of people said about Obamacare.

1. It´s absurd to think we can actually "do something" about these one-in-a-zillion hyper-crazies before-the-fact. 2. The inalienable right to self-defense precedes and trumps any law that might be passed. That is, such rights are beyond the reach of gov´t. That happens to be what the Constitution itself recognizes in the Bill of Rights. 3. Point 2 means self-defense [and the rest] are not open to discussion or debate. 4. Do not incorrectly assume we therefore have no recourse re lunatic murderers. Rights cannot be taken from the law-abiding, but they can be forfeited by criminal acts. 5. Yes, it might be hard to defend these rights -- but it´ll be a lot easier than getting them back later. 6. And just to be sure -- it´s not about the guns; it´s all about control.
#10: "Infringed," as I´m sure you know.

More questions we need to keep asking this gun grabbing government. Why do they need so many rounds ( 8 or 10 per citizen ) of hollow point ammunition for homeland security and various Government agencies? Are they planning to kill a significant portion of the population after taking away their weapons like the commie gun grabbers did. Why do they consider returning veterans who know how to use a weapon a greater security threat than foreign terrorists? Documents coming from homeland security make this case.

If it ever came down to gun confiscation, realistically not much chance, it is like drug prohibition: it creates a giant black market, criminal underworld. And big brother will now have more prospective criminals added to the citizenry. More innocent people to arrest simply by finding a (planted) gun in their car. So simple. Genocide is the predictable result of Hitlerian, Stalinist, Castro gun confiscation. In our early dictator America it will be enough for the tyranny just to be able to arrest ANYbody they want to arrest. Meanwhile, as opposed to previous tyrannical confiscations (Germany, Russia, Cuba, few Americans will ever give up their guns, so arrest, constant arrests, will be the only government tyranny answer.

These mass murder - suicides are a First Amendment problem. The murderer wishes to commit suicide with a blaze of glory. The press barons know that if it bleeds, it leads, sells big and increases their influence. When the "press" adopts a new policy of publicizing only those suicides that do no follow mass murder and refuses to even mention those suicides that mass murder, then there will be an end to the mass murder. We can return to the debate of disarming the army and the citizens and arming The Tyrant Obama´s private army.

In order to believe that the 2nd Amendment means ANYTHING besides protection against tyranny (e.g. hunting or self-defense, although they are perfectly legitimate pursuits) you must believe that the Founders drafted the Bill of Rights with all the amendments except the second from the top dedicated to protecting the individual from government. Such a belief defies common sense, which is why the lefties want to parse its meaning rather than examine its position within the context of the other amendments.

It is a Bill of Atainder. As crippled as Wikipedia might be sometime, there is a great explanation and history there. Bill of Attainder is declaring a person or persons guilty of some crime and punishing them w/o the privilege of a judicial trial. There are other details but that is the crux. The creation of the list by Feinstein is the "Bill"imo.I am not an atty. That list and that vid "taints" the property of law-abiding Americans. There is no trial and no chance for defense. They think they are being clever to run this "quickly" by administrative action.Everything has to be done fast by the donks. However these bill of attainder issues could be filed in Federal Court. So what if it gets thrown out. Move to another court: dismissed or not heard.Eventually it will get kicked up to the appeals level. If the junta wants to rule buy decree, then the American citizens can as well. Also the same statute is refered to as ex post facto (after-the-fact)laws and states that there is no inpairing of obligation of contracts...Wouldthat be bond-holders of corporations crammed down by the junta?

In 1927, Jozef Stalin summoned the Russian neurologist Bekhterev to give a medical examination of the dictator. Later that day, Bekhterev returned to a medical meeting and told colleagues, "I have just examined a paranoiac with a short, dry hand." Stalin´s left arm was shorter and weaker than the other. The following day, Bekhterev was poisoned and died. He was killed for calling Stalin a "paranoiac." He did not mention Stalin by name, but his medical colleagues knew exactly whom he was talking about. Writing in European Neurology, the historian Juerg

Is the Constitution becoming the left´s new target? That thought struck me the other night over dinner with my liberal friend, a lawyer and part-time professor. Among his choice statements, "Maybe it´s time to get rid of the Constitution and start over." No doubt he was echoing the sentiments of Georgetown law professor, Louis Michael Seidman, who suggested just that in a New York Times op-ed. It´s been several weeks since Seidman made his remarks, and now, it appears, the floodgates are open. Liberals feel they can speak freely about their true intentions for our country.

For the first time in my adult life, I am not proud of the First Lady. Mrs. Obama is frequently compared to Marie Antoinette. She spends hundreds of millions of dollars a year on her own pleasure and aggrandizement while urging the peasants to plant gardens. And for the first time in American history, we have a president who insults us across the world, disavows the idea that American is special, enriches our enemies such as the Muslim Brotherhood, and degrades our achievements ("You didn´t build that."). Metaracism instilled in the Obamas the tragedy of ingratitude.

Obama now reigns over Versailles on the Potomac. And America´s taxpayers are the vassals who bankroll the opulence of King Louis-Barack and Michelle Antoinette." Deroy Murdock (Hoover Institute, Scripts Howard) nails it in his National Review article. King Louis-Barack and his family really know how to share your pain. The "we´re all in this together" seer of America´s hope and change takes our bucks and we keep the change. "Let them eat lentils" is Michelle Antoinette´s airy solution to her growing food-stamp constituency (is M-Antoinette embarrassed at the girth of her loyal cohort?).

The lousy March jobs report jolted financial markets Friday, and understandably so. In a trend that has defined this weakest of all modern economic recoveries, the jobless rate keeps falling but largely because the labor force keeps shrinking. The unemployment rate fell to a new four-year low of 7.6%, from 7.7% in February. Good news, except the main reason for the decline was that nearly half a million Americans (496,000) left the civilian labor force. They retired, quit working, went back to school or gave up looking for work. The economy created a net 88,000 new jobs

THE elementary-school shootings in Newtown, Conn., in December produced two polar public reactions: fear among some Americans that the federal government will restrict gun rights, and hope among others that it will actually do so. Colorado, New York State and, most recently, Connecticut have clamped down on guns, while states like Texas, where I live, are considering legislation that would try to block the enforcement of federal gun regulations. The uncertain approach to guns is good for no one, except perhaps for gunmakers, whose sales have skyrocketed. Lost in this confusion and anxiety is the possibility

The agency didn´t disclose why it revoked the license. ´It´s been revoked. It´s final at this point,´ is all ATF spokeswoman Deb Seifert would tell reporters. Politics: Democrats were quick to blame the anemic March jobs number on the "sequester" spending cuts. If that were the case, what explains the previous four years of lousy job growth under Obama? At 88,000, the jobs growth in March was well below expectations. And while the unemployment rate dropped, that was the result of hundreds of thousands dropping out of the labor force who as a result aren´t counted as unemployed. Democrats, of course, tried to pin the blame for this on Republicans for allegedly pushing austerity measures. White House economic adviser Alan Krueger complained

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank
