The right to shoot tyrants, not deer
Washington Times, by Andrew P. Napolitano

Original Article

Posted By:Desert Fox, 1/10/2013 7:43:34 PM

The right of the people to keep and bear arms is an extension of the natural right to self-defense and a hallmark of personal sovereignty. It is specifically insulated from governmental interference by the Constitution and has historically been the linchpin of resistance to tyranny. Yet the progressives in both political parties stand ready to use the coercive power of the government to interfere with the exercise of that right by law-abiding persons because of the gross abuse of that right by some crazies in our midst.

It is interesting that the hysterical efforts of the Obamarrhoids and their leftist allies to undermine the Second Amendment has only served to alert more Americans to its real history and purpose. And approve.

Talk about unintended consequences...

Usually Americans put up with the whittling away of their rights and freedom because it is such a slow, incremental process. To paraphrase Rahm "let no crisis" Emmanuel, they´ve pushed a little to fast and hard on this one, and it´s been noticed.

Governor Cuomo of New York needs to read this article. He such an ignoramus it´s unbelievable. He thinks the 2nd Amendment is only for deer hunting and actually asks why anyone would need more than 10 bullets to kill a deer. We need them to prevent tyrants from taking over this country and Governor you are heading in the direction with your nanny state laws and edicts.

The left knows exactly what it is doing. They are counting on the useful idiots to give them cover.

Remember in Giselle (the ballet) when the hunter proves Albrecht is a nobleman because he has a weapon? That´s just exactly what the second amendment is about: Not being a peasant in medieval Rhineland. Hey, does Nancy Pelosi actually go to the ballet or just get listed endlessly as an ex officio whatsit at the Kennedy Center? They have performed Giselle a few times and it would have been educational to go see it.

In the Arab world throwing a shoe is considered an insult, and George W. Bush famously had one hurled at him during a Baghdad press conference in 2008. Less explicable was the pump thrown at Hillary Clinton last week during a speech at a Las Vegas casino. "Is that somebody throwing something at me? Is that part of Cirque du Soleil?" Mrs. Clinton quipped after dodging the projectile. "My goodness, I didn´t know that solid waste management was so controversial." Mrs. Clinton ought to pay a visit to New Jersey, but—hold on: solid waste management? Yes, Mrs. Clinton was speaking at the

The missing Malaysia Airlines plane was ´thrown around like a fighter jet´ just after it lost contact with the authorities in a bid to dodge radar, Malaysian military investigators believe. Flight MH370, which disappeared more than a month ago en route to Beijing, is thought to have climbed to heights of 45,000ft - 10,000ft above its normal altitude - before plummeting to just below 5,000ft. The new lead in the investigation comes as the methodical search being carried out in the Indian Ocean continues amid fears that the jet´s black box may have run out of battery. They’re both qualified, respectful of each other (shocker!), and represent the vast majority of middle America. So what’s not to like about another Clinton/Bush race for 2016? When you mention the prospect of Clinton vs. Bush 2016 a funny thing happens. First, there is the reflexive response: "Oh no, not again. We don´t need more dynastic politics in this country." But upon further reflection, you realize Jeb Bush vs. Hillary Clinton would be a great race and actually good for the country. Let´s review. QUALIFICATIONS—THEY’VE BOTH GOT THEM. Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin blasted President Barack Obama on Saturday for either not understanding or deliberately disrespecting the Constitution. "We have a president who doesn´t understand or just chooses to disrespect our Constitution," Palin said on Fox News´ Cashin In with host Eric Bolling. Obama has unilaterally changed immigration, health care, and welfare laws, among others, according to Palin, and she said that he has sent a message with his actions that an elite crew will run the government as they see fit instead of "We the People." She also said there needs to be "new energy" in government instead of more

Canon Jeremy Pemberton, 58, a divorced hospital chaplain and father of five, wed his long-term partner Laurence Cunnington, 51. We´re not told where, but obviously it wasn´t in an C of E church. That´s against the law. But they may well be able to have their marriage blessed in church because that´s only "against the rules" as opposed to illegal. A Nevada cattle rancher appears to have won his week-long battle with the federal government over a controversial cattle roundup that had led to the arrest of several protesters. Cliven Bundy went head to head with the Bureau of Land Management over the removal of hundreds of his cattle from federal land, where the government said they were grazing illegally. Bundy claims his herd of roughly 900 cattle have grazed on the land along the riverbed near Bunkerville, 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas, since 1870 and threatened a "range war" against the BLM on the Bundy Ranch website after one of

The departure of Kathleen Sebelius from President Barack Obama’s cabinet removes a focal point for criticism over Obamacare’s troubled rollout, right at a moment when the White House can blunt attacks with enrollment numbers that exceeded targets. Senate confirmation hearings on the president’s choice to succeed Sebelius as Health and Human Services secretary, budget director Sylvia Mathews Burwell, will give Republicans days of media exposure for their criticism of a program that remains unpopular. Those hearings will now be held months ahead of midterm congressional elections, helping diminish the impact on voters. Sebelius’s departure also addresses demands from some Democrats for a change

Bundy is meeting this morning with Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie to discuss a possible solution to his dispute with the BLM. The BLM had been using contract cowboys to round up Bundy´s 900 head of cattle that have been grazing over 600,000 square acres in northeast Clark County for more than 20 years without his payment of grazing fees. Who throws a shoe? Honestly! That would be 36-year-old Alison Ernst of Phoenix, Arizona, who was charged Thursday night with disorderly conduct by the Las Vegas Police Department after allegedly throwing a shoe at former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. According to NBC News, who spoke with a Secret Service official, the U.S. Attorney’s office has declined federal prosecution. Ernst was wearing shoes on Thursday night when she attended a speech Clinton was giving in Las Vegas, but apparently brought an extra one specifically to throw at the former secretary of state. LAS VEGAS — The Nevada Republican Party stripped opposition to abortion and gay marriage from its platform Saturday as state convention delegates instead focused on judging fellow Republicans on their worthiness to serve in office and adherence to GOP values. The platform, with few changes, was adopted overwhelmingly as the Las Vegas convention stretched late into the evening. The vote mirrors that of the Clark County GOP, which voted earlier to remove platform language defining marriage as between a man and a woman and statements opposing abortion. It’s hardly been a secret that in recent years the moderate center of the Democrat party has been driven away and what remains is a conglomeration of disparate blocs which, to date, the party has been able to treat as if there were no conflicting interests between them. As the midterm elections approach and the administration’s incompetence, along with the distaste for the president’s signature ObamaCare legislation, drive the party’s chances down further, the make-believe coalition of opposites may well crumble if the opposition doesn’t blow it.
