ISLAMABAD- A drone strike Thursday in Pakistan´s North Waziristan killed four people and injured several others, officials said. A report by the Chinese news agency Xinhua said the drone fired four missiles at a compound suspected to be militant hideout. The area is in Eissu Khel village in the Mir Ali area of the tribal region near the border with Afghanistan. The compound was destroyed but the identities those killed weren´t immediately known. Xinhua said it was the second such strike in the area since Tuesday, when missile attacks killed three suspected militants, including an al-Qaida-linked operative.

The words "suspected to be" are sickening to me. The USA kills people they ´suspect´ are
militants. And by the way, what are ´militants´. How about killing people definitely known to be terrorists against the USA. Otherwise, we have no right to be killing anyone. and what if innocent people are nearbye. Just collateral damage in the wrong place at the wrong time. When these people retaliate, the Administration cannot understand why, it seems. Now it seems we have to find out what our Administration is doing by getting reports from Chinese news Services. How about OUR Government reporting to us, since they are so transparent. Since we are such good allies with Pakistan, and
send them financial and other aid, why don´t we ask their military to GO GET these ´militants´ so they can be questioned ( not killed ).

Politico just doesn´t get it about conservatives. Again. The inside-the-beltway publication that keeps tabs on all of the "inside baseball" minutiae of Washington´s permanent political class does not understand why it is smart for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) to oppose his party´s leadership, which he was elected by Texans to do. In previewing its newest magazine article about Cruz, Politico tweeted, "Ted Cruz is a smart political operator—so why does he pick so many fights with his party?" Erica Grieder, the article´s author and senior editor at the left-of-center Texas Monthly, displays, like most of the mainstream press, that she

The 14-story hotel, long the dominant feature in the Mineral Wells skyline, has been stripped of just about everything valuable. Rooms are trashed and windows broken. Entrances are covered with sheets of plywood, forcing city officials to constantly seal new entryways pried open by trespassers - the Baker’s most frequent guests. But even in its dilapidated state, residents of this Palo Pinto County city 50 miles west of Fort Worth are confident that a rebirth is near for the Baker - and Mineral Wells itself. Ukraine has experienced its bloodiest week in decades after days of deadly clashes between anti-government protesters and police which ended in the ousting of President Viktor Yanukovych. For three months demonstrators have been involved in a stand-off with authorities in the capital Kiev. But on February 18 violence escalated and the Health Ministry said the death toll between protesters and police had reached 82. The protesters put that figure at over 100. Here are a selection of photographs which capture the devastation caused in Kiev´s Independence Square.

Afghanistan´s Taliban said Sunday it has suspended ´mediation´ with the United States to exchange captive Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl for five senior Taliban prisoners held at Guantanamo Bay, halting — at least temporarily — what was considered the best chance yet of securing the 27-year-old soldier´s freedom since his capture in 2009. In a terse Pashto language statement emailed to The Associated Press, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahed blamed the ´current complex political situation in the country´ for the suspension. A U.S. official with knowledge of the talks said the cause of the suspension was not the result of any issue between

President Obama, like Secretary of State John Kerry, worships at the Church of Global Warming but chooses a different form of grandstanding to profess his faith. In a speech at a Maryland supermarket warehouse, Obama said he was using his authority to direct the Transportation Department and the Environmental Protection Agency to tighten fuel economy standards for trucks as a measure to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide, the chief alleged earth-warming gas. He clearly intended to be seen as going around a stalemated Congress. Big whoop. This is a little like the rooster claiming credit for the sunrise. Congress long ago

For the first time since her infamous 2012 interview, National Security Advisor Susan Rice appeared on Meet the Press on Sunday February 23 to discuss a variety of foreign policy issues, most noticeably Benghazi. Throughout the interview, which focused primarily on the recent violent protests in Ukraine, host David Gregory provided Rice with a variety of softball questions on Benghazi, and allowed her to push White House talking points without any significant pushback. During the exchange on Benghazi, the word terrorism was not mentioned once, and Gregory seemed more concerned with allowing Rice to fix her disastrous appearance in 2012 than to

The NFL´s ban on allowing off-duty police officers to carry guns into stadiums has at least two exceptions--the two NFL stadiums in Texas. According to CBS DFW, "Texas state law overrides the NFL policy. As long as officers attending the game check in at a specific gate and inform Security where they are sitting, they can have their gun." This exception to the NFL´s gun ban will apply to the Dallas Cowboys´ AT&T Stadium in Arlington and the Houston Texans´ Reliant Stadium. The Dallas Police Association´s Ron Pinkston agrees with the Texas law: "Our officers are 24/7, on or off

The Obama administration warned Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday not to react too aggressively to the fast-moving developments in Ukraine, where pro-Western demonstrators forced the nation’s Moscow-backed president from power over the weekend. National Security Adviser Susan E. Rice said the situation unfolding in Kiev “reflects the will of the Ukrainian people and the interests of the United States and Europe,” and that Russia would be making a “grave mistake” if it sends in military forces to try to reverse the developments — or to seize control of pro-Moscow eastern Ukraine. The University of Notre Dame must provide birth control to employees and students after a federal appeals court ruled Friday, a move the school says will force it to violate its religious beliefs. In a blow to religious colleges and universities across the country, the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago denied Notre Dame´s request for an injunction to the ObamaCare birth control mandate that requires the school to provide coverage for contraception. The injunction would have given Notre Dame a temporary reprieve from the birth control mandate, as the Roman Catholic school challenges the rule in court.

The real mystery behind the FCC´s now abandoned "study" to police American newsrooms is why the mainstream media refused to raise holy hell over it. While Obama´s lapdogs refused to bark, it was conservative media who fought for newsroom independence and got the FCC to finally back down. Other than the media´s natural obedience to Obama, the fact that the fingerprints of left-wing billionaire George Soros have been found on the FCC study might also help to explain the media´s silence. CNS News reports that for the first ten years of the last decade, Soros donated more than $52 million
