Obama´s 81% Support in
New York City is Best in 114 Years

Bloomberg News, by Greg Giroux

President Barack Obama’s support from New York City in the 2012 election was the highest recorded for a candidate in more than 100 years, according to a final tally of votes. Obama beat Republican challenger Mitt Romney by 81 percent to 18 percent in the nation’s largest city, according to a certified vote count released Dec. 31 by the state board of elections. Some New York ballots were counted late in part because of complications caused by Hurricane Sandy. Obama’s share of the vote is the best showing by a presidential nominee in New York since its five boroughs

I live in NYC and it isn´t like the rest of America, I assure you. It is the center of the elite sheep and thir acolytes. You can talk to any one of them and they repeat what they hear on CNN, ABC, CBS and NBC. They don´t open their minds to any other possibilty, but to the way they think. Alas! The other 19% whisper low in the bagel shops and the privacy of their apartments where they are safe from the assault of the lemmings.

The only hopeful sign I have heard from one of them is that he knows MSNBC is a joke and Chris Mathews and the rest of the trained seals are ridiculous buffoons. Gee, even one of them got that right.

The city, new york and new jersey get screwed big time and all they can do is rejoyce about being treated like crap. If we are stupid enough to look to them for leadership, we richley deserve to go on the trash heap of history.

I was born there - and still enjoy visiting - mostly for the museums. But I´ve caught up on my quota of ´´gay musicals´´ and thus avoid Broadway if the wife lets me. Besides, Ellen´s Stardust Diner and the cast of aspiring singers often provides a much better show than what you get via TKTS. And the food is reasonable - for NYC.

For the record, I will never, ever, again support military action to avenge the deaths of New Yorkers. The next time a plane flies into a New York sky scrapper, I will be the first to ask, "why do they hate us?"

New York could burn to the ground and I would consider it to be urban renewal.

In back-to-back interviews with a pair of Spanish-language television networks last Wednesday, Barack Obama expressed confidence that an immigration-reform bill—i.e., a path-to amnesty for 10 to 20 million guaranteed Democratic voters—could be passed “certainly before the end of the summer.” [Snip] So many crusades, so little time. Just over a week ago, Chicago Public School (CPS) officials announced the closing of 54 elementary schools contained in 61 buildings, located in poor, mostly black and Hispanic neighborhoods. The move represents the largest mass closing of schools in the nation’s history. CPS, facing a projected budget deficit of $1 billion in 2014, insists money spent keeping schools with declining enrollment open can be better used elsewhere. Approximately 30,000 students will be affected by the move. The Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) and many parents are furious, and vow to fight.
