Texas AG Proposes ‘Double-
Barreled’ Lawsuit Challenge
if City, County Ban Gun Shows

PJ Media, by Bryan Preston

According to the Austin American-Statesman, the City of Austin, Texas and Travis County are both looking at proposals to limit gun shows in their jurisdictions. City of Austin and Travis County officials plan to take steps to ban gun shows on city- and county-owned property — and potentially even curtail them on private property within the city limits, the American-Statesman has learned. Less than a month after the Newtown, Conn., elementary school shooting that killed 26 students and staff, Council Member Mike Martinez said he and at least two other council members

Imagine how different things would be if we had someone like fellow Texan Gov. Rick Perry as president. I´m so sorry he fell apart in the debates.

1. The weapons used in Sandy Hook were not bought at gun stores.

2. The real reason liberals don´t like gun shows in sales by individual persons do not require ATF paperwork, which makes their planned confiscation marketedly more difficult.

Austin is not Texas.

But we let our children play there for a few years before putting them to work in the real world.

Austin is a playground and has all the usual foolishness of playgrounds.

Just another bayonet point driven long march toward progress here.

Austin used to have 3-4 gun shows a month in either the City Coliseum (razed) or the old Palmer Auditorium - both being right down town.

In the late 90s the unelected Socialist Scums who control the city issued a Diktat banning all firearms from city property and effectively pushed gun shows out to private venue, which there aren´t many here.

We are now down to 1 luke-warm show a month at the old beat up Travis County Expo Center out at the seedy edge of town where the ´Blue Sanata´ mob from adjacent counties sets up a road block to collect $2 ´donation´ at the entrance to the parking lot.

The only decent shows left are in Dallas or Houston.

Geraldo Rivera got remarkably candid in a conversation with The Blaze’s Will Cain about his desire not to outlive his own fame. He even admitted that part of the reason he’s been to dangerous places like Libya and Iraq is because he’s “been looking to get killed in action for years.” Rivera said he doesn’t want to be one of those guys who, when they die, everyone will point out how great they used to be, and that’s why he stays engaged. And, in addition to that, he likes having a little bit of danger in his life: “I want to die with

Raising the minimum wage to $10.10 will cut about a half-million jobs out of the economy by 2016, according to a new Congressional Budget Office report Tuesday that could deal a major blow to Democrats’ chief domestic agenda item this year. A majority of low-wage workers would see their pay rise thanks to the increase and would be substantially better off, including many who would be lifted above the poverty line. But a minority would also lose jobs as businesses choose to invest elsewhere, the CBO said in its analysis of a proposal very similar to the one congressional Democrats have

For nearly three years, the Democratic approach to the political unpopularity of President Obama´s health care law was denial. Deny it played a significant role in the party´s historic midterm losses in 2010. Insist, in the face of contradictory evidence, that as more voters experienced the benefits of the law, the more popular it would become. Deny it would be a major issue at all in the 2014 midterms. The latest version of the argument points to polling showing that voters don´t want to repeal the law but prefer to see it fixed—perfectly in line with the newly adopted positions

You know things are bad when Hollywood liberals are asking California for a tax break. Film Works, an entertainment-industry advocate organization, recently launched an online petition asking California’s film and TV enthusiasts to lobby lawmakers to create greater incentives for production to stay within state borders. While operating costs in California have grown more expensive over the past decade, other states and countries have established film tax credits in an effort to bring production to their territory. If California does not pass similar legislation, Film Works warns, the state will lose hold of one of its most iconic industries. “We are now greatly

These price hikes came despite the federal government’s sunny assertion that prices in general have only increased 6.4% in that period. There´s a debate going on about Hillary Clinton´s past. If she runs for president in 2016, should Republicans reach back to the scandals of her years as First Lady? Or should they focus on more recent times, especially her tenure as Secretary of State, to build a case against her? The GOP doesn´t have to choose. Of course Clinton´s recent experiences are relevant to a presidential run. But so are her actions in the 90s, the 80s and even the 70s. It´s not ancient history; it reveals something about who Clinton was and still is. And re-examining her past is entirely consistent with practices in recent campaigns. In the 2012 presidential race,

The weirdest thing about John Kerry´s weekend speech on climate-change—other than the fact that this is the same guy who in 1997 voted to forbid the U.S. from signing the Kyoto Protocol—is that it begins by quoting something Maurice Strong said at the U.N.´s 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro: "Every bit of evidence I´ve seen persuades me that we are on a course leading to tragedy." Maurice who? Mr. Strong, a former oil executive from Canada (he was Pierre Trudeau´s pick to run state-owned Petro-Canada in the mid-1970s), was for many years the U.N.´s ultimate mandarin.
