Biden: Obama Considering ´Executive
Order´ to Deal With Guns

Weekly Standard, by Daniel Halper

Vice President Joe Biden revealed that President Barack Obama might use an executive order to deal with guns. "The president is going to act," said Biden, giving some comments to the press before a meeting with victims of gun violence. "There are executives orders, there´s executive action that can be taken. We haven´t decided what that is yet. But we´re compiling it all with the help of the attorney general and the rest of the cabinet members as well as legislative action that we believe is required." Biden said that this is a moral issue and that "it´s

Comments:
No!! We know that charlatan isn´t "considering" it. He wants to do it. We knew something like this would happen from the vile 0bama. And by the time any lawsuit would wind it´s way through the court we will be doomed. I don´t know how much more of this I can take.

Government, at all levels, is signally its belief that total collapse is on the horizon. When that happens, they want the only weapons to be theirs. This has nothing to do with Sandy Hook or any other person or incident. It has everything to do with our government telling us subtly that a major upheaval in society is imminent.

One has to wonder if Obama is actually attempting to create a civil war?

It´s so cute when ivory tower DC types think they can reverse the tides and stop the sunrise.

I wonder if the attorney general i.e. the top law enforcement officer will point out that the 2nd Amendment is still in force and still unambiguous, unlike those emanations and penumbras that gave us Roe v Wade?

It takes a special kind of nerve for the sleazy, backstabbing Biden to talk about morality but he´s no different from the rest of his fellow hypocrites.

My friend Robb is typically more cynical, and a little more conspiratorial than me regarding the government.

He told me two weeks ago that the "president" would use executive orders to pass gun legislation. I didn´t believe him.

i hope he does soon - we need to get this into the judicial system asap and put a stop to this nonsense before one of the good guys on the Supreme Court retires and Obama´s swing vote gets appointed. Even at that, it may be a close call, but at least we still have a chance. The Supremes are usually very committed to precedent and I would hope a good one would be set here.
This would be an interesting test on several levels - 2nd Amendment, separation of powers. If adults are running the country it should fail on both counts - the question is whether or not we have competent leadership anywhere.

A student of law -- all the more a Constitutional scholar -- would know damned well that an Executive Order is not sufficient to amend the Constitution. If O´Biteme try this, it will essentially be declaring the Constitution void, which will officially announce a resumption of the Civil War.

Instead of a fight to free the blacks, this time will be a fight to enslave the people.

FTA: "As the president said, if you´re actions result in only saving one life, they´re worth taking.

That is the all-time most stupid liberal platitude. NO! If you´re actions result in only saving one life, they´re NOT worth taking.

The above comment by zippy quoted by biden is a ridiculous cliché. How about a ban on cars, booze, baseball bats, fireplace pokers, bicycles, flights of stairs, 2 X 4s, glue, airplanes, and so on? After all if those actions result in only saving one life . . . .

By threatening a gun control Executive Order, you have to wonder if the White House is already signaling that whatever they are proposing does not have a chance to pass the Congress.

There has got to be a lot of Democrats now in Congress from swing districts who know that they will not be re-electable if they support a big liberal Democrat ban on just about all modern semi-automatic handguns and rifles and a $200.00 tax per firearm on all the many millions of semi-automatic firearms already out there. It´s hard to believe that the Obama Administration and the liberal Democrats would be able to get such a gun control bill through the Republican controlled House of Representatives.

#21 there was a segment on this morning news on the problems local police are having with acquiring ammunition. I am sure that part of it is due to the government´s vast purchases, but that was not mentioned. It will not surprise me if there is an emergency order to highly limit the sale of ammunition as there is not enough for the police.

2nd amendment says "The right of the people shall not be infringed-" says nothing about the Executive making all manner of orders to limit the rights of citizens. If Øbama can use executive orders to take our inalienable or God given, gun rights, there will be no limit to the rights he can take. The Constitution will, in that moment, die!

There are approximately 125 million gun owners in the country, with approximately 300 million guns. The American military has been reduced to approximately 2 million, and the combined police forces of every municipality, county, and state would probably number around 7 to 10 million. I would guess that less than half of them would take up arms against their fellow Americans. Even if they did, they would be outnumbered 10 to one. Even with vastly superior firepower, those are not odds I would like to fight against.

Gun owners who are sitting on the fence won´t stay there long once they see their families, friends and neighbors being hauled off by jack-booted thugs with badges.

An Executive Order would probably relate to ATF implementation of existing regulations, such as FFL holders. I read elsewhere that more than 100,000 firearms allegedly went missing from gun dealers last year. Probably annual ATF inventory audits are in the works with loss of of FFL if guns are unaccounted for and not reported missing.

So exactly what will the executive order do? Most likely, he will order the FBI to devote no time to respond to background checks so that no new gun permits can be issued. He´ll sic the EPA on the gun and ammo manufacturers so that they have to expend all their profits in legal fees, with the DOJ hoping the bankrupt them. He will allow the DOJ to sue the gun manufacturers, etc. He cannot possibly get a gun bill through Congress in the next two years, but he can use the feds and the public employee union members to do his bidding.

One of the first political issues negotiators must tackle in crafting an immigration reform bill is among the most important: what to name it. It’s a decision that will bruise egos, create legacies and deeply affect subsequent messaging battles. “Every time the bill is mentioned in the press, you either have a brand that´s positive or a brand that doesn´t mean anything or even hurts you,” said Frank Sharry, the executive director of the pro-immigration reform group America’s Voice. Jon Favreau told students at Harvard University´s Institute of Politics that TV portrays political leaders wrongly, and that the public ends up with a bad view of those in power. "I think that a lot of people turn on the news today, a lot of young people, and they hear people tell them that every motivation of every politician on either

Joyce Karam, Washington correspondent for pan-Arabic daily Al-Hayat, offers a sobering assessment on the Al-Arabiya website of the current administrations efforts in the post-”Arab Spring” Middle East. She begins by noting a how a minor recent diplomatic walkback highlights the White House’s contradictory policy: It was only fitting that the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry announces another traditional trip to the Middle East on the same day that the U.S. embassy in Cairo withdraws its tweet advancing the case for Egyptian Comedian Bassem Youssef as he faces intimidation from the Mursi government.

President Obama is eager to build public support for his health care overhaul in the few months remaining before its implementation, but waning enthusiasm from Democrats threatens his effort right out of the gate. Two-thirds of Democrats now believe Obama´s health care reforms will either hurt them personally or have no effect on their daily lives, a Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday shows. In comparison, just 27 percent of Democratic respondents said the reforms would help them. The president has long struggled to convince independent and Republican-leaning voters that his health care blueprint would lower premiums and expand insurance coverage.

RUSH: Folks, I don´t know how else to categorize this. We are living in a dying country. I don´t know how else to categorize what´s happening -- 88,000 new jobs. The unemployment rate, because of a terrible statistic, is down to 7.6%. The number of people in this country who are not working is shameful. Ninety million Americans are no longer in the workforce. Ninety million. People not in the labor force grew by 663,000, and now 90 million. That´s the labor force participation rate. This is 1979 levels.

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

Michelle Obama has admitted that she is already tired of the bangs she first sported in January. The First Lady said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight: ´Bangs are a day-by-day proposition. They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

No one is more preoccupied these days with Hillary Clinton´s 2016 plans than the Beltway political class—not even the former presidential candidate herself. To hear some tell it, her decision will be dispositive for all other Democrats thinking of entering the race. And pundits and reporters aren´t the only ones positing the "The Hillary Factor": No less than the House Democratic whip, Steny Hoyer, told BuzzFeed, “I don´t know that anybody would run against Hillary…. If she runs, she clears the field.” It´s an understandable conclusion, given Clinton´s stature in the Democratic Party and her 70 percent

I hope all will look at a lifetime of service over some poorly chosen words.” Carson will remain as commencement speaker at Johns Hopkins,

Clinton praised her own mother for helping empower her to success and marveled at the opportunities that her own daughter Chelsea has pursued. But Clinton warned that there is still so much to do to promote women´s rights in America. "As I look at all these young women that I am privileged to work with, or know through Chelsea, and its hard to imagine turning the clock on them," Clinton said.

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

The Obama White House is scrambling to blame Friday’s abysmal March jobs numbers on the sequester’s trimming of the rate of growth in federal budgets that have yet to fully commence. After the Labor Department announced that a mass exodus of 663,000 workers left the U.S. workforce last month and that job creation fell 112,000 jobs short of projections, Obama’s top economic adviser Alan B. Krueger, took to the White House blog to blame the sequester: It is important to bear in mind that the March household and payroll surveys are the first monthly surveys to look
